Yes, I uploaded the valid US visa while completing the application. It is worth stating that this is my 1st application. Also, I've had past refusals from US and UK and all the refusals were declared.Perhaps. thats what delayed the application.

Transcript of 221g Interview:
Me: Good Morning.
VO: Good Morning. Please pass your passport.

VO: Have you been to the US before?
Me: No.

VO: Why didn’t you use your last visa?
Me: The pandemic happened after the visa was issued and I shelved travel plans since my trip was
non-essential. (I rambled a bit, but I guess the message was passed across)

VO: Where are you going to in the US?
Me: Houston, Texas

VO: How long do you plan staying?
Me: ten days

VO: Are you married?
Me: No. I’m single.

VO: Do you have children?

VO: ***looks at me in surprise****

Me: *****Instantly realised I made a mistake and immediately provided the correct answer****
I was born in A***** but my state of origin is A*****. I’m sorry about the mix-up.
( Side Story- during my last visa application process, I had to undergo Administrative Processing
and provide answer to a lot of personal questions. I guess she asked the question to check
whether I had been telling the truth all along. )

VO:***** Smiles. Then types for less than one minute.*****
Your visa has been approved. You can pick it up in one week.
Me: Thank you.

Outcome: Received passport within a week. 5-year B1/B2 Visa affixed to passport.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by TheAristocrat(m): 8:55pm On Jun 04, 2023
A 221g interview is a follow-up interview at the US Embassy.

For applicants who qualify for interview waiver; according to the US Consular Services, sometimes the CO reviewing the application does not have sufficient information to assess the applicant and complete the adjudication process. It could also be that concerns have been raised from the information in the application, usage of previous visa(s) etc.

So, apparently in the interest of "fairness", the visa application is temporarily put on hold and the applicant is told to schedule a follow-up interview which is called a 221g interview.

mane48:
which again is 221g interview
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by TheAristocrat(m): 8:42pm On Jun 04, 2023
Hi.
The interview went well. Well, my 221g Letter from the Embassy did not state any reason. Also, the CO asked a lot of questions during the interview so I can't really pinpoint the reason for the follow-up interview.

Hurdun01:
Hello, I have a 221g interview scheduled for next month in Abuja as well… I’d like to know how your interview went and on what ground (reasons) were you asked to schedule an appointment. Mine is correct bio data and validity of passport. Thanks
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by TheAristocrat(m): 6:37pm On Jun 02, 2023
Safetysmile:
Hello Nairalanders, pls I got busy and gave up on follow up interview. Surprisingly, I checked after months and got a date. Kindly assist with information about "221G" interview:
1. What are the documents I am expected to carry along besides my certificates.
2. Is there any successful transcript of follow up interviews here
3. Or what are the likely expected questions
4. How do I print out my DS160, its showing refused as I tried to print?
Good Day.

My advice is that even though you are going for a "221g" Interview, prepare as if you are going for a normal interview.

This means you should come with 2 passport photographs, DS-160 Confirmation Page, Evidence of payment of Visa Application Fee, Appointment Confirmation Letter and the Letter from US Embassy advising you to schedule a 221g interview. Please ensure that you come with all these, as I witnessed people being turned back at the gate for not having one document or the other.

Likely questions? It depends on the reason why you were asked to schedule a 221g interview in the first place. Try and go through your application again and check if there were any "weak spots" that led to this situation. As I said earlier, even though its a 221g interview, prepare as if its a normal interview.

Hope this helps.

PS:
I did my 221g interview today at Abuja and I'll share my transcript later, in shaa Allah.

Uchetoba:
SOME BENEFITS OF BUYING UACN NOW.

Assuming one buys 1million shares of UACN @ N9, the total cost will be N9,000,000 + N180,000 (max. Comm.) = N9,180,000.

After the Unbundling of UPDC & UPDC REIT, the person will have
6,000,000 shares of UPDC x N0.80 = 4,800,000
500,000 shares of UPDC REIT x N3.5 = 1,750,000
1,000,000 shares of UACN X N9 = N9,000,000

When you add them together = N15,550,000.

Just from the unbundling alone I did not add the dividend that will come from UACN, the final and the interim dividend that is yet to be declared by UPDC REIT. Neither did I put into consideration the Capital Appreciations that will follow UACN & UPDC REIT before and after the unbundling.

All these benefits just within the next 4 months.

A Stitching Time Saves Nine
Okay. But wouldn't the share price of UACN be marked down after the unbundling?

Kindly explain what you mean by "Malo". We should refrain from using derogatory terms to describe others from ethnicities different from ours as it does no one any good and has led us nowhere as a nation.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by TheAristocrat(m): 7:17am On Apr 30, 2020
Good Day

Please find below, my thoughts on the matter.

1. Is the Return on Investment adjusted for inflation? Aside dividends, it should be noted that other forms of return include share price appreciation and bonus shares.
2. The entry price of a share directly impacts the dividend yield. Therefore, it pays to invest in fundamentally sound companies at appropriate prices.
3. Before considering diversification as a risk management strategy for your portfolio, pay attention to screening potential candidates for investment. What is the quality(fundamentals) of the company? Is the company well managed? This is necessary to get an idea of the earnings prospects of the company.
4. If the company is fundamentally sound, do further research to determine an appropriate entry price. A good company may not be a good investment if you buy its shares at a high price. To be honest, this is not as easy as it sounds because we’re human and prone to mistakes.
5. If you don’t mind, please read the following books for further insights:
• One Up on Wall Street by Peter Lynch
• How to pick stocks like Warren Buffet by Timothy Vick
6. Whatever strategy you decide to adopt, please do your homework before committing your funds in the market, as has been stated several times here. The Nigerian Capital Market is still developing and mechanisms for protecting investors from unscrupulous companies are not fully in place.

Hope you find this post useful.

RichEstate:
Pa Emma, Mcy and other senior colleagues, please can you give me contrary opinion to the attached projection.

The focus is majorly on dividend plough back. The end result might be different but is it worth trying?

VO:okay.everything looks good.pick up your passport in 3-4 days. Me: Quick question. Is it compulsory I travel in September? VO:You want to visit Houston in the fall.A slip of 1-2 months from your stated travel date is okay. However, we prefer that you arrive at your stated destination in US and spend the stated time for the visit in your application. You need to establish credibility of your intent.Am I clear? Me: Yes Coincidentally, the same pleasant lady that interviewed me earlier in the year also did today's interview.Hope things go smoothly from here.

Wow! Congrats to you both first.

DS-5535; one is a Chemical Engineer who last year attended a company sponsored training (on what too if I may ask please?), the other (maybe an Engineer related to chemicals or nukes or technology too) wants to attend a conference on “Technology” and Management. If both happen to be Muslims, I don’t think we will exactly be wrong to postulate that the profiling has likely gone a notch higher lately....

Hello Everyone,

1st Application:

Reason for application:To attend a company sponsored training.

Biometrics captured on 5th October, 2017 and application received by UKVI on 6th October, 2017.(paid for priority visa)

TLS sent a decision mail on 13th October, 2017 and received passport on 16th October,2017(paid for delivery by courier).

Decision & reason: Refusal. UKVI stated that they could not ascertain if the company I stated in my application as sponsor for the trip was capable of funding it.

Note: My employer made arrangements with the company based in the UK to handle the training and all associated expenses and then be reimbursed. Based on that, the company sent a Letter of Invitation clearly stating the purpose of visit and that they will be fully responsible for all expenses incurred during the trip.

2nd Application:

Reason for application:Tourism.

Biometrics captured on 28th November, 2017 and application received by UKVI same day.(paid for priority visa)

Received mail from UKVI on 30th November, 2017 stating that processing of my application has not been straightforward and advising that projected timeline for assessment of the application may not be met.

TLS sent a decision mail on 7th December, 2017 and received passport on 8th December,2017(paid for delivery by courier).

Decision: 6-month visa granted.

This is to thank everyone on the thread.

Your contributions were helpful and are appreciated.
