A whole different storyline would have been used, nothing we haven't see before. You see they wanted to use that particular storyline so as to usher something new into the MCU that is the time travel stuff and so far everyone has been talking about it. I still even have unanswered questions sef. So you see, I see it as an absolute win.
It is a win for MCU at the BO but that's it.

Y'all need to realize that other things needs to be factored in. Disney didn't think it through and now they are panicking as there are several Oscar award worthy movies this year.

As it stands, nobody is talking about endgame for major Oscar awards. Some MCU fans even thought endgame came out last year.

It will be a huge slap if endgame doesn't get a major awards with the huge money and hype that it made.

Let's hope for the best

u didn't answer the questi0n na. Were u frightened by the 7 sins? Dude, my little cousins found those things funny. Shazam was largely c0medy and a family friendly film [doesn't that ring mcu to u?]. In that an article was written, was either to amass cust0merz or market the film. Publicity. Disney have people writing articles, meaningless once for them, man. M0st recent, the 10milli0n subscriberz n0nsense.
Must I be frightened before you know that others where frightened? I just gave you an article where the guy said he was terrified with what he saw, as he has never seen it in other comic book movies.

But nothing yet on Shazam 2.

And before you quote me with the "the film just came out" statement, know that by 2022, those kids will be way bigger.

Yet WB says they want to fastrack the release of those sequels before those kids mature.

However, I see them doing the opposite.

Again, nothing yet on Shazam 2, not even a rumor.

Suffice to say, the studio might have given up on that film

And no, the release of Black Adam means nothing.

I'm beginning to lose faith in them.

First, they let Cavill down.

Secondly, they want to feature Catwoman in another Batman film.

Finally, they have no plans for the "Real" Captain Marvel and Zachary Levi's future, which is their fault after releasing the film just before Endgame, when they should have shifted the date.

I guess it's safe to say this studio has no plans and just make things up as they go.

I hate to say this, but Minemrys was right all along.

And in view of these recent developments, I might not comment on this thread for a while.

I highly dissappointed in WB!
No wahala.

You can join the Synder fanclub in crying till tomorrow then.

You can't expect the same for Endgame especially with the direction they took it through. Going back in time and all other stuffs.
It could have been possible if they used RDJ as the main lead.

I don't think Disney thought it through before production.

Now they hampered RDJ chances of an Oscar main actor awards.

I don't miss you again sef.

Bro there were tons of 'dark' elements in Marvel's movies. Can't remember a lot but remember when a guy was turned into a piece of meat grin grin in Ant-Man and got flushed and bro, Thor Ragnarok was very Dark just that the director had to make it light so as to suite Disney's agender, Thor went through a lot up through infinity war when he basically failed to go for the head.
Then Infinity war bro look at how it started and ended, Look at how Loki was killed right from the beginning, straight through the end, it was a dark movie. What made it light was just humour which Marvel movie is famous for.
Lol, the truth be told.

There is no dark moment because it was made into a comedy.

There was a scene where black widow told Thor that Loki was responsible for the death of over 80 people. Thor turned it into a joke and said that Loki is his half brother.

Nothing really dark or scary.

Logan was dark, deadpool had something that separated it from the MCU.

how is TDK similar to mcu films? Am n0t the one arguing. U are. Mcu films are kn0wn for their over the top fun, 0ne liners, and simplistic plotline that's all t0o predictable. Just tell me, wasn't aquaman predictable, filled with 0ne liners, fun and f0rgettable? What was so nerve racking abt it aside its cgi?
Oga, you are the one arguing and clinging to straws.

Didn't Aquaman have elements of horror in it with the trench scene? There where several jump scare moments during the trench scenes. Can the same be said of any MCU movies?

People loved Aquaman because of that uniqueness that's why DC is planning a trench horror spin off.

I don't have time to be arguing with you biko.

bloggerz would always write things for clicks. There wasn't anything scary abt the 7 sins. I asked u, were u frightened by them? U didn't answer the questi0n. U must be frightened by s0mething b4 u tag it h0rrific. Forget sentiment, jor. I am a dc guy, and to be h0nest all dc films prior to joker were very similar in style to mcu films. They were so forgettable, the plots simplistic, no twists that'd leave one asking questi0ns after having seen them. That's the essence of cinema, it has to leave in u s0me sense of wanting m0re, asking m0re while being satisfied. Those films didn't, but that doesn't mean they were bad.
Seriously, did you just indirectly tag a write up from abs-cbn a blogger site?

There is no need for me to continue this argument with you.

I have provided the evidence needed.

WB/DC just needs to put things in order.

So, 2021 is going to mad with a lot of superhero films.

We have The Batman, SS2, BA, and also a DC animation.

I just hope there is space for a DC black film. The joker has kick starter it, they should continue with it

ip so facto, loki was horrific t0o, c0nsidering he killed thor with the destroyer, oops. Hela even blinded her brother, or how yellow jacket killed harmless animals in antman. Oga, u are just bringing up things to support ur argument. No one c0mplained abt the 7 deadly sins. Those things were even funny. And sivana didn't do worse c0mpared to the mandarin in ir0n man 3. Those dc films i pointd out, are no different fr0m mcu films. Evident fr0m how critics described them. They were pop c0rn flicks and forgettable. Joker is the only one that's different as at n0w. 'fun and entertaining' that's just it. N0thing nerve racking in them. Forget the dc sentiment. WB went the marvel way with w0nder w0man, jl, aquaman and shazam. They even said it with the hiring of geoff johns and the rest. "we want to make films that are fun for the audience" that was what they said repeatedly.
Bros, instead of dragging and making unnecessary arguments, why don't you just check google. undecided

There have been several articles about the horror in Shazam. Several people complained about it on Twitter although the complaint was still positive.

Coming here to say that those DC films are just like MCU films is just laughable.

I won't be surprised if you say TDK and TDKR are similar to MCU movies. SMH

I still maintain my stance that those movies are nothing like MCU movies.

did the story focus on captain america in age of ultr0n? Lol. People are meant to fight for screen time in ensembles. U are trying to make people care for all the characters, u make them fight for screen time. U can't give 0ne character 70% screen time in an ensemble m0vie if u want people to care for the characterz. That was what JL's script did and that was why it failed cos people couldn't care for aquaman or flash or cyborg or even superman's rebirth if batman was centre of the whole thing. And, Captain america had less screen time in age of ultr0n c0mpared to ir0n man. But it wasn't abt ir0n man. Every0ne was central to the overarcing plot. In a single led film, the story is focused on the lead, we see everything thr0ugh the lead's eyes.
You are just saying what I have said in another form.

They should have made a lead while focusing on the team up.

In AoU, captain America was the lead actor and it was still a team up movie. Same with Batman for JL.

If you have a moderate number of people involved and used either ironman or cap as their center force, they would have had a main lead in endgame.

BlackManta:
Forget Endgame...

The more I think about it....I just cant help loving Infinity War more and more.

IW was not perfect but Endgame was a let down compared to IW.

The major issue I had with Endgame was stakes.

IW had stakes....mad stakes.
The urgency and the race to stop Thanos from getting all the stones from the moment the film started left me at the edge of my seat.
Endgame threw stakes out of the window until the third act.

A good time travel film has stakes and this is where Endgame disappointed me.
The time travel mission was too easy and straight forward....no danger or whatever.
It didn't leave me at the edge of my seat....the time travel was just average and lacked excitement and yes.... Stakes.

The only part that had stakes was when Black Widow sacrificed herself for the soul stone and that part had nothing to do with time travel.

A good time travel film has stakes and this sense of urgency that has main characters second guessing every move.
Like Back to the future where the main guy had to fix the past quickly to prevent his parents breakup and avoid wiping himself out of existence.
Or flashpoint where Barry had to figure out how to break the space time continuum and prevent a timeline which left the world devastated.
Now that's some fvcking good time travel plots !

Endgame time travel was very easy because the writers don't wanna stress themselves writing a complex time travel plot with massive stakes and real danger.

Not to mention how the movie ruined my favorite marvel character Thor.
IW completed a Thor redemption arc that started with Ragnarok, building Thor to his best possible form only for Endgame to reduce him to his lowest of lows.

And Hulk eewwww... embarassed

Endgame is not a best picture material.
Disney should stop disrespecting the Oscars.

I mean who in his right mind would submit every actress and actor in one film for best supporting awards.

Is that not an effort in futility huh

Are they trying to mock the Oscars undecided

This is Oscars not Teen Choice Awards undecided
Thank you.

Infinity wars was far better than endgame.

I have been following a lot of Oscar awards update, and no one is mentioning endgame as best picture nomination.

But I believe it will win an award as Disney is spending heavily on the campaign.

which horror did u see in shazam? D0n't tell me you were frightened by those funny seven sins.
So, you didn't know that people actually complained about the seven deadly sins in Shazam? You didn't know that they complained about how dark it was for sivana to throw his own brother out from the highest floor in the building?

Even Aquaman had that horror element of surprise when the trench showed up.

How many people complained about the horrors of war in captain America?
TV/Movies › Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by TheKingIsHere: 4:50pm On Nov 14, 2019

the m0re reas0n why JL did n0t do well. You can't make a story centred on a group and focus on 0ne character. Check other variati0ns of jl, it doesn't have a lead. What we have is the guy who calls the shot i.e like cap america does, but the story isn't centered on him. A lead is one who the st0ry centres on.
Justice league didn't do well because of the crappy storyline.

Captain America had 50minutes for age of ultron, ironman had 45minutes too. And that's a 2 hours film. Will you say age of ultron didn't do well? Captain America was the lead.

If you have too many people involved in a project, there won't be any lead. Everyone in endgame (over 40people) were fighting for screen time.

oh God, why make me defend marvel films? Ir0n man treated the sensitive issues of terrorism, thor had h0rror elements in btw its 1st two films. In ragnarok, we saw hulk make his seat fr0m skulls i think and grandmaster literally meltd a guy in fr0nt of us. In guardians of galaxy, we witnessed a little child's darkest m0ments. In antman, we saw a p0or guy get blasted and flushed down the toilet with a shrinking tech. We saw the h0rrors of war in captain america. The thing is, all these things were played for laughs or treated lightly just as the aquaman, justice league, shazam and w0nder w0man films. BOP isn't out yet, so that one may carry it's own style separate fr0m the otherz. There weren't anything dark with those dceu films, man. They were very much the same in that they focused on the fun than the dark part which the marvel films did.
Which horrors in war did you see in captain America? I won't be surprised if you say there is horror in endgame.
