Novartis:Thanks @Novartis for the advise, I've initiated steps to recover the funds. Contrary to your speculation, I paid a premium (N385) for the funds. |
razzby:I will like to state that @razzby is a fraud and scammer, deal with him at your own peril. I have not received the funds I paid for nor have I received a Naira refund, this has been on since September 12th for a $1000 transaction. He never keeps to his promises of refund, he sent me illegal PayPal funds that was later held by PayPal and returned back to its owner. @razzby If you feel differently about the facts I've stated, you can state your account of events, otherwise, you are a thief and a scammer and everyone on this thread should know. |
Rollsnjaguar:Thanks for a prompt and smooth transaction. |
mayskit4luv:Thanks for a smooth transaction. |
odimbannamdi:Hello, how much of this do you have? I need $100. |
dablazor:I believe taxation is responsible for the difference. Tax on N1000 seems to be lower than tax on N10,000 divided by ten, though you'd expect that it'll be the same tax amount multiplied by ten (10) for N10,000 token. I also experienced this. |
It's Easter morning, Ilesa Expressway, riding the steeps and slopes of that undulating road enjoying a Sunday morning drive. Just approaching the brow of one of the steeps, there's a suicidal Okada man in the middle of the road trying to jump-start his bike, I had just 1.53 seconds to react, steer right and turn the Okada man into a massive pulp of road kill or steer left and hope for the best. I steer left and my troubles started. First I ran off the road and into massive dirt pothole, sent my car and everything in it into the air, while suspended in mid air, I catch a glimpse of my passenger frozen in her seat, probably thinking if this is how it's all going to end. The car lands on all fours, shoots back unto the road and starts starts sliding all over the place like a slippery eel out of water, passenger side of the car is in the air and I'm balancing on just the two driver's side tyres praying to God that this car does not tip over. I managed to gain some control and steer the car to the other side of the road facing oncoming vehicles where I then ran into another pot hole that eventually grounded the car. There's the smell of burnt rubber everywhere, red dust in the air, the contents of my car is everywhere. Phew, villagers are everywhere congratulating me, giving me free water and squeezing my hands like long lost friends, I'm just mad asking for the whereabouts of the Okada man. He was gone, faster than a bullet out of a gun. Lessons, stay alert at all times, reduce speed when approaching the brow of a steep as you can't see what's ahead, keep all loose items in the trunk as they can act as projectiles in high impact crashes and never give up control of the car - you drive it till the end even if the end is a fantastic blaze of fire and twisted metal. Be safe out there. |
Thanks @kiekie1 I can't wait to setup my solar panels and charge controller, delivered by the man himself. Professional all the way. kiekie1: |
Thanks @megatran for the swift service, I received the funds. |
After your next car service, do a Google search on how to clear the Maintenance Required light. The light comes on at intervals when car is due to for service and can be cleared by user by following a sequence of activities. |
Ensure that your phone is set to install all applications (signed or unsigned), it's somewhere under the settings menu. The other trick is to set the date on your phone back by a year then try to install the app. If that doesn't do it then you need to get the application signed for it to work with your device. Please google signing application for Nokia for more details. |
Hello @Felakezman Any luck finding tutelage in Photoshop and photography? A new outfit will be opening soon near you offering creative design and photography services, let me know if you are still interested. |
You should get the international drivers permit, but you must always present it with a valid Nigerian drivers license when required or pulled over. The permit let's you drive in the UK for up to a year from your date of entry after which you would be required to obtain a UK license. All other rules of UK driving still applies, thus it won't be right for you to drive a car without an insurance cover... and it doesn't matter that Nigeria uses the LHD system. |
I'll advice you come in and face your studies, it's increasingly difficult to get related work experience during your study, the 20 hours/week work limit restricts you to casual shift based jobs that are still difficult to get. You'll be so busy with school work anyway, work will be the last thing on your mind. The UK government is serious with its move to plug all loopholes in the present immigration schemes, thus students and workers would still come in but their stay will not lead to permanent residency, this implies that the Post Study Work visa 'will' be scrapped. Gain as much knowledge and skills as you can while you're at it, join professional bodies and do as many relevant certifications as you can and prepare for onward deployment of your skills in Nigeria. We need you here. |
Now that's a odd 70-200mm canon lens photo you uploaded there, all the variants of this lens come in a white color! |
Hello @original2k Please can you provide the f number for the lenses, thanks. |
Good to know you arrived, hope you're loving the experience so far? You'll quickly realize that the word "survival" means the same in regardless of location. Found a place yet? Try do some search, come up with a shortlist then start making plans on how to come down here and view the apartments. Try search on Gumtree, and google. If you give your email I may scan some newspaper pages to you too. Best wishes. |
edoyad:Run far from it, the X10 is so good on paper, however everyday use leaves much to be desired. The fact that Sony Ericsson hasn't been able to provide timely updates for the device since it's launch years ago makes the Sony Ericsson X10 look more like a dinosaur in 2011. |
I'm glad the details came in handy. Yes it's quiet compared to the bustle of London and the advantage is reduced accommodation and living cost but because of it's proximity to London it's getting slightly populated these days. Since you'll be off campus, your best bet might be a shared apartment to save cost. To be honest we're all the same whether white or black, save for companionship sake it really doesn't matter much who you stay with, just make sure it's not a lunatic or a goon. As said earlier, joining an African community like a church or mosque could speed your adaptation as they're always willing to help each other out, they may offer free rooms at reduced costs. Jobs are declining nationwide or rather the job market's more competitive. Nevertheless folks still get favored, as a student you will have limited work hours so you may settle for temp jobs like packaging & stacking, store assistants, events ushering, marketing, leaflet distributions or office administrators. You may want to consider volunteering to get your self adjusted to the UK work environment too. |
I just stumbled on this thread and thought to contribute. I presently live in Northampton and it is a mid-sized town, not as busy as London and not as quiet as Guildford, although there's been a subtle influx of people into the town in the past year. The town's almost in the center of UK, it's an hour train ride from London and Birmingham so you can easily reach those commercial areas if you please. Accommodation is relatively cheap, depends on how comfortable you want to be (room only or flat). Rooms start from about £250 (bills inclusive) and could go as high as £350. It is advisable to compare this cost with what the school offers, school accommodations are often more expensive but you can't quantify the benefits of living with your classmates and living a stone throw away from your lecture halls. There's regular bus services round town, a week pass costs £11, I think students do have a discounted term pass arranged through the school. There are plenty African stores, so if you're the type that cooks plenty Naija delicacies then you won't miss home much but be ready to pay extra for some rare ingredients. There's a moderate Nigerian presence in Northampton. If you're a christian, I will advice you join one of the churches in town, they have good African communities and they do look out for each other for support, you may consider the established ones like CUMI Liberty House or The Redeemed Church. Jobs are a bit scarce for now, but if you're dogged and not fussy about the type of job you want, you may score a couple of gigs that pay decent money during your holidays. I have covered a bit now, let me know if you have additional questions. Best wishes. |
There will always be tons of ideas, but do not forget that it is YOUR business and YOUR money we're discussing here. You will need to spend some time in Nigeria and do a proper research into several businesses, not just any business, do an analysis of the skills and knowledge you have and consider businesses in that line, it's unwise running an IT services company when one cannot comprehend the technologies and services he's planning to offer. Nothing wrong with all the businesses that have been suggested so far, but they all seem too pedestrian and not so innovative, just ways of doubling your money in the short-term and I think it explains why we have fewer startups in Nigeria. You may want to think long-term and start building a proper company from scratch like a true entrepreneur, this approach has its challenges but that's where the joy sometimes is, if you do succeed in this you would have built yourself an empire that will hopefully perpetuate itself and you won't only make money for yourself but your company will feed others too. You may also consider being a venture capitalist (fund promising companies in Nigeria and get a percentage of their company and profit/loss in return) Nigeria is a highly risky nation/market, and like any other high risk market the returns are always bountiful when you get it right. |
Don't bother yourself for now, It's only available for those that pre-ordered. Sometime in November maybe. |
Both devices are great and the new Android 2.2 update brings more capabilities. With the two devices standing at par, cost may be your deciding factor. Whichever you chose, you'll be sure you're getting a great device. |
I've never heard of the plan, if it's true then it makes little sense. Just send SMS. |
300mm is not information. Can you please state the focal length of the lens, it should be the decimal number in front or on the body of the lens. If you can upload a photo that will help too. |
netotse:Audiobooks are ok, though it doesn't compare to actual reading. I find them useful on those long commutes when I'm too tired to turn pages. |
netotse:The screwtape letters is a good read if you want an insight to how good and evil battle for our minds, quite comical book though. Haven't read fiction in a while, currently trying to get a hang of web 2.0 with The shift |
Though I'm not a big fan of the MNET and the near monopoly that operates in that industry, it sure makes business sense for MNET (give the subscriber a reason to keep the decoders long after the they stop subscribing). Anyway watch less and read more, It's good for you. |
Are you still interested in the badges? If so please give a more detailed requirements of what you want. |
puskin:Do you know what it takes to develop a new OS and the change management issues that the company will have to deal with? Symbian^3 is not the ultimate and the glossiest OS but it sure moves more units because it has managed to stay simple and consistent for the average user yet still offering depth of functionality for high end users. |
I will disagree that the D3000 is not a solid product, upon release all products are certified, it's just unfortunate that you got a defective one. The D3000 is ok, but chances are that you may outgrow it very fast as it is aimed at beginners. though not as solid as the D60 and D70 (which you may not get new anymore). You may consider the Nikon D3100, Canon 1000D and 450D. Also consider the availability and cost of lenses and accessories. |
