Politics › Re: Why We Engage Foreign Media – Lai Mohammed Explains by TheOdd1sOut: 8:24am On Oct 20, 2018 |
Thenovita: The Federal Government says it is engaging foreign media organisations, networks and think tanks to shape their opinion on the true position of things and to also correct the negative narratives about the country and President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, disclosed this in London after an engagement with the Royal African Society, a body founded in 1990 to promote relations between the UK and Africa.
Specifically, the minister said that the engagement was to shape their minds and opinion on the true position of insurgency in the North East, farmers/herdsmen clash and the achievements recorded by the Buhari administration, which were being downplayed.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the minister arrived in London on Sunday and delivered a lecture in Chatham House, the UK-based Royal Institute of International Affairs.
He also interacted with foreign and Commonwealth Office officials, All Party Parliamentary Group and featured on Aljazeera television news hour.
The minister also met with the largest global news agency, Reuters, New African and African Business magazines and African Report.
Mohammed said that the essence of the engagements was to correct the negative narratives about the country and place on the table the giant strides of the Buhari government.
He added that “the whole idea of the trip is to engage foreign media organisations, networks and think tanks to actually explain the activities of government.
“As you were aware, we have been to the UK twice and the U.S. on this kind of mission.
“I think generally it has been quite fruitful because it offered us the platform and opportunity to explain to them what this government has achieved in the areas of security, fighting corruption and in revamping the economy.
“It also gives us the opportunity to disabuse the minds of the people about the insecurity in the North-East and how the government has succeeded in returning normalcy in affected areas.
“It offers us the opportunity to explain that the farmer/herdsmen clash is largely due to population explosion, climate change and criminality, as against the naysayers’ position that it is ethnic or religious.
“Really, it has been quite helpful and we will continue with the engagements.”
The minister said he was satisfied with the level of reception and understanding achieved during the visits; even as he has also been scheduled for more engagements before returning to Nigeria.

The Federal Government has given reasons it is engaging foreign media organisations and networks in Nigeria
The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, while speaking in London after an engagement with the Royal African Society, said involvement of foreign media is to correct the negative narratives about Nigeria and President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
NAN reports Mohammed as saying that the engagement was to shape minds and opinions on the true position of insurgency in the North-East, herdsmen/farmers’ clashes and the achievements recorded by the Buhari administration which were being downplayed.
He said: “The whole idea of the trip is to engage foreign media organisations, networks and think tanks to actually explain the activities of government.
“As you were aware, we have been to the UK twice and the U.S. on this kind of mission.

“Really, it has been quite helpful and we will continue with the engagements.”

Romance › Re: Can I Ever Have A Woman Called Mine? by TheOdd1sOut: 7:01pm On Oct 19, 2018 |
Loversminds: I don’t think I can ever have someone I could boldly called mine, because of the time, sacrifice, trust, love and money have spent on relationships, but all proves abortive.
I’ve been in different relationships with an intention of having a serious relationship, but they never take me serious which makes me feel burden on my heart.
I’m an introvert and a type of person that is motivated by love, so when I’m in relationship I treat my woman with seriousness, because I believed if there is true love there shouldn’t be cheating.
Sadly, with all my commitments and companionship, have been cheated on by my first girlfriend, second and just be cheated and jilted by the third now.
I do always hear that men are the ones that always cheat, but my case is different.
They are the ones playing on my intelligence and my emotions. And this is making me think maybe I’m destined to be single.
The third relationship I just lost, I dated this lady for two years and during that period, I don’t deny her anything she needs, I satisfied her emotionally and materially.
With all my commitments to the relationship, all the gifts I gave her, the money I spent on her, and all my faithfulness, she just broke up with me with flimsy excuse.
I’m still confused and devastated, I’m still asking what happened and why would she made that kind of decision with the way she always says she loves me.
I just wish she could tell me where things got wrong exactly rather than being left in cloud.
With the commitment I usually dedicate into relationships and it doesn’t become successful, maybe love isn’t met for me.
@loversminds, is not that I need help but just unburdening my heart on your blog, because you said on twitter that the greatest agony is bearing an untold story in mind.

The tourist was in the Sangeh Monkey Forest in Bali, Indonesia, when two monkeys hopped onto her knee and before she knew what was going on, they were humping away, leaving the woman red-faced.
A female long-tailed macaque had climbed onto the holiday maker’s knee first, and her friends, who thought it was cute, pulled out their cameras to film the moment. Then, suddenly, a male monkey joined her and shamelessly made his move.
Thankfully, a tour guide came to the shocked tourist's rescue and threw some food at the monkeys, which distracted the male and caused him to leap off. Watch the insanely hilarious video below. the male monkey use her leg as porn movie in so that the akamu go comot well well |

zyboss: You may probably be wondering How & If it is possible to have over 44 kids before age 40. Trust US, when you are done reading this, you will be convinced beyond reasonable doubt that NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.
Mariam Nabatanzi is an African woman of the Ugandan Origin.
She recalls how distraught she was when she was married off to a man 28 years older than her.
Mariam says she had no idea she was going to be married. She only realised what had happened after she escorted a relative but ended up being given off to the man. This was in 1993.
Mariam Nabatazi, who resides in Kabimbiri in Uganda, made headlines because of her fertility.
According to OddityCentral, the woman allegedly gave birth to 44 children before the age of 40. She was reportedly to have gave birth to six sets of twins, four sets of triplets, three sets of quadruples. She also had a couple of single births. However, sadly she lost a couple of her children, and only 38 of them survived.
Despite having a really big family, who all lives in the same home, the 40-year-old single mom manages to provide for all of them. Nabatanzi was married off when she was just 12 and her hubby was 40-years-old.
Apart from a child marriage, she also had to survive her stepmother, who attempted to kill her by putting tiny pieces of glass in her food.

gisthabit: A business can be any calculated and coordinated set plan put together into actions by one, two or more people with sole ambition to make a profit from its proceeds. A lot of new business owners have been puzzled with the big question of HOW? Mostly on how to start and what to have in mind and expect in starting a new business. I hope the following points will ignite confidence and render justice to your questions.
Avoid Procrastination/Excuses Procrastination will always be known to be the act of avoiding or postponing something and it should be avoided. Note: “Today was called tomorrow as of yesterday and tomorrow will always be the called today when you get there.” Know that in postponing your idea or business, you are putting everything at risk. But be consoled that being scared is normal in making a new step and you must overcome it in order to move forward to succeed and build courage.
Location The location of your business should come to mind when you are thinking of how to reach your market, clients or customers. Depending on the kind of business you are offering, try as much as possible to make your business location accessible to your customers.
Be a good Listener Develop good listening ears to everyone ranging from your family, mentors, friends, and enemies. Listen to everyone about your business, notice their facial expression and body language when you introduce your business to them. Even your enemies might open your eyes to big facts you never thought of about your business. You will be totally surprised to find out how much people know about your business if you pay attention, it will help you make better choices to grow and make adjustments on your ideas. Don’t ignore the power of advice from experts and veteran business owners. They know first-hand on what does and doesn’t work. Smart entrepreneurs learn from the mistakes other business owners have made. you chop the remaining 9 tips? |

Buterflyle0: Extremely interesting
I took time to analyze this from every angle and it kept coming back to his no referendum no election position.
PDP cannot afford to even have Nnamdi kanu throw his support behind them because that would mean they just signed their own death warrant by assuming the role of a biafran party hence pitching the other parts of Nigeria against them. The election would then effectively be between Patriots and non Patriots.
Nnamdi himself cannot afford to betray his own people after he took an open oath to their hearing that may he drop dead if he decides to betray Biafra.
Its a lose lose for PDP on point |

Celebrities › Re: Jadesola Odujole: Here’s What Happened When I Visited Kwara State As A Tourist by TheOdd1sOut: 6:39pm On Oct 19, 2018 |
Loveleelee: I get bored easily and exploring new places sort of helps to keep me grounded. One weekend I’m checking out a waterfall or hiking up a mountain, and during the week I’m back at my daytime job with so much clarity. Such experiences keep me going until my wanderlust kicks in again.
The last Independence Day weekend saw me taking a road trip to Kwara. When I told people I was going to Kwara to explore some places, all I kept on hearing was, “What’s in Kwara?” In fact, if I gave out ₦1000 for each time I heard that, I would be in serious debt now. No jokes.
Kwara state has more than 70 tourist attractions ranging from waterfalls to hills and ancient buildings. In fact, Nigeria’s first museum is actually in Esie, Kwara state. Mungo Park, the first non-Nigerian to see the River Niger, has a cenotaph to his credit in Kwara State. It is so sad that some of these places are either run down or not talked about enough. I mean, Kwara has the highest waterfall in Nigeria and the second highest waterfall in West Africa. But do people know about this?
I left Lagos for Ilorin on Sunday and I arrived after about 4 hours on the road. My first stop was the Post Office where I was going to meet up with my guide Omotosho of Omotosho tours. The first thing I told him was that I was on the search for the best Tuwo in Kwara and I wasn’t going to leave till I found it. Now, with that info in hand, we set off to our first place in the city – Okuta Ilorin. After some photos on the rail track, that is.
Okuta Ilorin One of the versions of the history of the city believe that Okuta Ilorin is where the city of Ilorin derives its name. This translates to the stone that sharpens iron, i.e, a whetstone. Another version believes Ilorin is the Land of Elephants (Ilu Erin) which was later metamorphosed to Ilorin from ILU-ERIN. There is a neighbourhood in the city called Oko Erin meaning ‘Elephant Forest’. Now, I didn’t go there, but I went to Okuta Ilorin, so guess what story I believe (for now). so you want to to read all this because someone travelled? |

Politics › Re: The PDP Dilemma Of Nnamdi Kanu. A Lose Lose Situation. by TheOdd1sOut: 6:37pm On Oct 19, 2018 |
Buterflyle0: Nnamdi Kanu a man seen as the messiah of the struggle for the actualization of Biafra has resurfaced!
Some have given him a godlike status already while many others are fanatical about him.
For the past few days the internet has been agog with shouts Atiku in some quarters and this shout was mostly coming from the SE due to the VP slot given to Peter Obi.
Suddenly today there has been a palpable silence and a change of atmosphere since the resurfacing of Nnamdi Kanu. Atiku has been quickly relegated by the same people who were all over him just a few short days ago.
Now this is the dilemma.
The entire country knows that Nnamdi kanu is clamouring for the nation of Biafra and he and his people have called Nigeria a zoo and a contraption that must be dismantled so they can be free as biafrans in their own land with their own flag, currency, passport, etc.
1) Nnamdi Kanu cannot afford to throw his support behind PDPs Atiku and Obi because this would mean that PDP has become a biafran party and as such an enemy of Nigeria and Nigerians as all other regions would stand opposed to the SE and ensure PDP does not win.
2) Nnamdi kanu cannot accept the slogan of restructuring from Atiku as that would cause his own followers whom he has always preached referendum to to quickly see him as a scam and turn on him thereby rendering him useless and the pursuit of Biafra as failed.
The only option open here is for Nnamdi kanu to still stand on his original position of NO REFERENDUM, NO ELECTION and this time ensure it is done in a bigger, louder and attention grabbing way in order to drive home his point and get as much international attention as possible.
Since the 3rd option is the most sensible, this would mean an outright absolute boycotting of elections in the entire SE states because he would want to be emphatic that he does not care who rules in Nigeria because as far as he is concerned, he is not Nigerian but a Biafran.
That being the case, then the strongest support base for PDP which is the SE would starve PDP of their much needed votes thus making PDP to lose the elections even before the first vote is cast.
Already practically every PDP staunch supporter are already afraid of the aftermath of this scenario and have been lamenting all over Facebook and twitter.
I however, wish to tell Nnamdi kanu WELCOME!
God bless Nigeria.
Mynd44, OAM4J what do you think? I think Nigeria politics is a season film that will never end. The plot twists are just too interesting |
