Outspoken Senator Ben Bruce Murray has been a huge advocate of the “Buy Nigerian” movement and has made it his priority to speak about buying Nigerian made products on every platform especially Twitter where he regularly uses the hashtag #BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira

One would think that the Senator who is the voice of #BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira would want to grow the Nigerian print industry by publishing his new book “Common Sense Revolution” in his fatherland.

But rather he chose to have the book printed in the US of A!

I guess the “Buy Nigerian” agenda doesn’t apply to his book?

Twitter Nigeria has wasted no time in calling out Bruce. With many labeling him a hypocrite.

BEAUTY OCTOBER 21, 2015 Beauty Advice: Benefits and Usage of Eye Creams


Growing up, I always thought eye creams were only for people who were older. I was rather shocked when I turned 19 and my sister’s best friend started telling me to invest in eye creams. At first, I thought it was an insult, but after much explanation, she made me realize that how you look in your 50’s is very dependent on how you take care of yourself in your 20’s. The image above shows some eye creams recommended for every age group. In my skin care article, I had mentioned the stage at which an eye creams should be applied during your skin care routine. You do not need to buy the exact brands pictured above – just get the budget-friendly ones that have the same benefits.

Application:
When applying eye cream, it’s always advisable to place the cream on the outer corners of the eye and never close to the eye lid. If placed too close to the eye, it could cause irritation. It may even lead to more dark circles and puffiness because the eye cream would not be working effectively.

Steps:
1. Use your fingers or a cotton swab to apply the cream half an inch below the eyes
2. Work the cream from the inner corner outwards using a tapping technique rather than rubbing or dragging the skin
3. Repeat this tapping motion a couple times, massaging the cream into the skin


Correct and Incorrect Application

Benefits:
1. Reduction of darkness under the eye
2. Reduction of circles and puffiness around the eye
Spot the Difference:
Like I said earlier, both the high-end brands and regular brands work the same. Jae, a participant in the 6 week eye cream challenge on the Total Beauty website in her 20’s, compared the Hylexin (High-end; $95 value) brand on her right eye and the Retinol Correction Eye Cream (drugstore; $20 value) on the left eye (Fig. 2). According to her, they achieved the same result, although it took a little bit longer for the drugstore brand to show results. So regardless of the brand, you will still get the desired results.

Amosun, Dangote, Legislators, Storm Oronna Ilaro Festival 2015

Senator Ibikunle Amosun, the governor of Ogun state, Alhaji Aliko Dangote and federal and state lawmakers are among the top dignitaries expected at this year’s Oronna Ilaro Festival with the theme: “Festival of Achievement”.

His comment actually confirmed my suspicion that my wife is being manipulated either through blackmail or spiritual enchantment to say she was opting out of her marriage after 12 years.

For instance, at the last proceeding on the divorce suit, my wife said it in the open court that she was willing to abandon her four children and go out of the marriage. Which woman will say she was abandoning her four children if not under a spell? It is clear to me that Okotie is not a pastor but an anti-christ.

Ike has also accused Okotie of hiring a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) lawyer to help his wife divorce him, he also says Okotie gave his wife N500, 000 for her mother’s burial and bought her a blackberry Porshe phone.

In addition to all this he also told Cable NG that Okotie calls his wife and other single women out in church every Sunday and gives them gifts.

The marital discord that rocked the home of actress Toyin Aimakhu and her husband Adeniyi Johnson seems to have been resolved.

According to recent reports Toyin has reconciled with her actor hubby & moved back into their matrimonial home which is said to be located in the Ajah area of Lagos.

She is giving her husband another chance after he publicly admitted to flirting & sending dirty texts to other women & she caught him. He also apologized for his bad behaviour & appealed to his fans to plead with her on his behalf. [READ HERE IF YOU MISSED IT]

Aimakhu who took a break from social media yesterday during her marriage crisis made her return to Instagram yesterday when she posted a meme on her Instagram page that said,

Excuse the grammar…but you get the message…I found this meme on Instagram today.

On Monday Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio was involved in a car accident in Abuja and on Tuesday he was flown out on a private jet to United Kingdom for medical treatment.

In May just before leaving the Governor’s office, Akpabio who is the immediate past Governor of Akwa Ibom State, commissioned a N30 billion hospital in Akwa Ibom. When opening the hospital he said the hospital which he said was equipped with “640 city scanners, digital mammography, endoscopy surgery, highly sophisticated intensive care units and medical gas plants with fully automated laboratories” was a “world-class specialist center with ultra-modern medical facilities that would attract medical tourism to state”.


His words during the commissioning of the medical masterpiece,

We lose billions of dollars every year to medical trips abroad. We have also lost a lot of people, not because we don’t have the expertise in the country. We needed a hospital that can run at international standard. We also decided to have a hospital that would answer to the needs of Nigerians in terms of advanced health management. And that was why we built the Akwa Ibom Specialist Hospital.

He also said rather than rich Nigerians going abroad for treatment it would be easier to visit the Uyo hospital,

Sometimes, people die in the air while being transported abroad for treatment. We wanted to shorten travel time for patients going abroad and at the same time get revenue for the state from health tourism

And…

We have about 380 suites and so many operating wards. We are starting with 150 expatriates all at once. We are in agreement with a Swiss hospital group and an Arab healthcare group in partnership with Cardio Care in Lagos

Like we said earlier on Tuesday he was flown to the UK not to this $30bn specialist hospital he was praising back in May…his legacy to his state…the irony is not lost on us.

Emeka Ike Is Accusing Chris Okotie Of Keeping His Estranged Wife From Him…Could Their Divorce Getting Any Messier?

For a few months now there has been a public back & forth between actor Emeka Ike & his wife Suzanne Ike which has played out in the press.

The couple have 4 gorgeous kids together and have been married for 15 years, but back in July she filed for divorce citing emotional & physical abuse at the hands of her actor husband.

In her court testimony she said,

It was when my husband beat me mercilessly I believed that people truly saw stars whenever they were unconscious. It was my brother who took me to the hospital where I spent two months. There was also a day I was feeding our last child with tea, my husband, out of anger took the tea and poured it on my head. Each time we fight, he calls me a witch saying whenever he intends to start a project and he informs me it eventually fails. He also said if he hadn’t married me, I would have become a prostitute. Since I left, he doesn’t allow me to speak with our first two children, asking me to come home if I really want to see them. Even when I was in with him, he leaves home for months on the pretext of different appointments. I can’t face all this anymore. I need help.

After the news broke Emeka denied he was getting divorced saying, “I am a Christian, we don’t divorce”

He begged his wife to come back to him while claiming he never hurt her. But Suzanne insists she doesn’t want to be married to him anymore…the divorce case is going ahead.

In the latest twist in their messy divorce case he is blaming Household of God Founder, Pastor Chris Okotie for plotting to keep his wife from him & destroy their marriage. He has released a statement blasting Okotie. The statement says,

I want people to look into this issue critically. I’ve never beaten this woman in my life. When she ran out of home, I called my pastor and they took us for counselling. For one week, I was begging her every day; I would go home alone and she would go home alone as well.
At a point, pastor asked us to write five things we like and dislike about each other. The pastor said that maybe we could work it out. I wrote mine, she wrote hers and she never said there that I used to beat her. I still have that document with me. She gave me what she wrote and I gave her what I wrote. If I used to beat her, she could not have left it out from that then. Any man that beats a woman is a coward. I know that someone somewhere must have done something to her. How can I beat a woman I adore so much? I love my family and this is very unfortunate. Her children have been begging her to come home, and she has refused.
I am pretty sure my wife is acting confused; she is acting as if she is under a spell, which is psychological and then she is acting under blackmail.
There was a time I accused her of bringing men to my house. I mean, which woman will wake her husband up in the middle of the night and said to him, share your property I want to get my share now from what you have? Tell me, which woman will do that if not acting under a spell?
There was a time I travelled and she closed down my school and sent all the students away. So, there is a lot to it, other than the allegation of battery against me and I want the whole world to know. My name is precious to me and I don’t want anything to drag it in the mud.
Pastor Chris Okotie just absolved my wife into his church without making any effort to get in touch with me. If as a pastor, your church member is having issue with her husband, and you failed to do anything to resolve it, what kind of pastor are you? When I called him, he refused to pick my call. He also failed to react to a text message I sent to him. Is that a man of God? Even, if you have a police case, they will make effort to hear from you before taking a position, not to talk of the church.
When we went to court, I told my wife that I’m interested in amicable settlement of the matter, and that I still want her back. But she refused. Even, if you don’t want me, what of your children, I asked her and she still would not listen to me. I want the whole world to know because there is a lot of misinformation out there. The lawyer which Okotie hired for my wife is also frustrating every attempt I make to resolve the matter peacefully

Miley Cyrus who is set to host the MTV VMA awards on Monday night may have just kicked off round 2 of the Twitter war of words between Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift.

Late last month Nicki got all in her feelings and played the “racism/my yansh is too big card” when her Anaconda video, wasn’t nominated for Video of The Year. Back then Minaj wrote in a Twitter rant

If I was a different ‘kind’ of artist, ‘Anaconda’ would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well. When the ‘other’ girls drop a video that breaks records and impacts culture they get that nomination. If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year.

That was over a month ago, now Miley “I need attention, so I’ll just be nekkid all the time” Cyrus has added her own to the fight. In a recent interview with New York Times, when asked about Minaj’s statements, she had this to say

People forget that the choices that they make and how they treat people in life affect you in a really big way. If you do things with an open heart and you come at things with love, you would be heard and I would respect your statement. But I don’t respect your statement because of the anger that came with it. But she wasn’t done…she then said Minaj’s remarks were “very Nicki Minaj,” which she described as “not too kind” and “not very polite.”

It became Nicki Minaj and Taylor in a fight, so now the story isn’t even on what you wanted it to be about. Now you’ve just given E! News ‘Catfight! Sad Story: Peter & Lola Okoye’s Nanny Dies After 5 Year Battle With Cervical Cancer. What Women Need To Know About Deadly Disease

Cancer is no respecter of persons & these days it seems like there is a cancer for every part of the body. One of the most deadliest forms of cancer is cervical, which affects only women.

This morning Peter Okoye‘s wife Lola Omotayo took to Instagram to express her grief over the loss of her nanny, Esther Ngobor who had lost her 5 year battle to cervical cancer.

According to a heartbroken Lola, Ester had worked with the Okoye’s for 7 years and started taking care of Cameron when he was just 3 months old. She described Ester as not just a nanny but a sister and a friend.

Today we lost a very precious soul. Esther Ngobor. Esther started working with us almost 7years ago. She was a wonderful nanny to our son from when he was 3 months old. She was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer 5 years ago and she fought tirelessly to stay alive. When she was diagnosed, she was told she had a few months to live but she fought hard.Words cannot describe how incredible she was as an employee, sister and friend. My children loved her, we all loved her. Her smile and laughter would light up a room in a second. She was clever,witty and dedicated. She was most importantly God fearing and honest. Her biggest fear was dying. Oh Esther, I am so sorry. We tried everything within our power to give her the quality of life she deserved. We tried every possible treatment available but God knows best and we cannot question Him. I want to thank all my friends and family who touched her life no matter how small. Your prayers, love and donations will not be forgotten. God bless you. Esther was in so much pain but she never gave up. This is a very sad day for us. We will miss you so much Esther. Cervical cancer is the second biggest cancer that affects women after breast cancer.

Ladies if you are sexually active you NEED to get a smear/pap test done. Women between the ages of 21 – 29 should typically get tested every 2 years. If you are 30 & older and have had three normal Pap Tests in a row, you can talk to your doctor and space out the tests to one every three years.
