Seems Ifeoma has gone to the wings, since Uchenna can't defend even if her life depended on it. |

BascoVanVeli: You do know it took them 2 passes from the moment they intercepted the Goal Kick to the moment they scored? The Defense and Midfield were back peddling and already on the back foot once we didn't contest for the ball or win the 2nd ball....everyone had Pushed up for the Goal kick. They literally went long, a Cut back ( Defenders and Midfield were already running back towards goal, leaving space in front of our D for an uncontested shot ) and Boom.....Goal. |

daveP: She's not aa DF/FB...She never plays that for her club side...The most defensive position she's ever had to play prior to the Super Falcons is as a WB. This Position is something she's had to play for like 5-6 times per year (During International breaks). That's why I was a bit confused that no recognized RB was even called up...Maybe Nicole ( Maybe she had personal issues) or someone else. 4 Likes |

CornOak: That ball had nothing to do with Nnadozie...Ball was kicked towards Kanu, but she didn't even contest for it. The Aussie player calmly brought it down and restarted play. 5 Likes |

You see how useless Kanu can be? Ball was kicked to her and she refused to contest for it and 1-2 passes goal.. And Demehin doin g her best Demehin impression...Always have 3 or 4 mistakes in her per game...Smh 2 Likes |

Put them under pressure and they'll start making mistakes.. See they haven't been able to complete a pass since we started pressing and we are seeing the ball more now. |

Kanu needs to come off at the half. She's playing like this is her first time playing football. Can't make runs, can't track back, can't make passes...Literally can't do anything out there other than just being the 11th body on the field. 3 Likes |

Can we at least press as a team? These half assed presses we are doing is a waste of time... Every ball we manage to defend comes just right back at us. We are giving Australia too much time on the ball to pass and pick out their crosses...They've had over a million crosses into our box already and it's still 30 mins..Smh. |

Deltamani: This German tactics can easily be nullified ( Assuming the still images above is their standard setup and there's no interchange, and 3rd man runs from midfield ).....All Morocco need do is just set up in a two banks of four, shift from side to side as a unit depending on the position of the ball on the field, employ wide midfielders instead of wingers and have them defend the half spaces, have a target man/woman and a shadow striker/SS who just blocks off passing lanes and also fast enough to counter. Employ a deep or mid block ( Preferably Mid block so they can get up the pitch when needed to support the 2 attackers.... Germany isn't a tiki take team, they're more brute force, fast and direct ) The Germans will just resort to passing the ball amongst their CBs and whichever midfielders that drops deep. |

Idiko1: Flourish selfish? Someone that literally looks for a 1-2 with teammates, or is it the one that always crosses the ball once she's beaten her player/marker instead of cutting inside looking to shoot? Her videos during the CAF W Champions league and Women's Champions League WAFU Zone B Qualifiers are allover Facebook, where she was creating loads for her teammates and scoring as well..( in the qualifiers) Perhaps there's another Flourish you're referring to? 2 Likes 1 Share |

potland: Female footballers are generally younger than their male counterparts....The Average age for an academy player ( Males ) to breakout into top senior squads is 23/24 years, while female footballers make debuts as early as 14years old. Young girls can play "Women's" football but Young boys can't play "Men's" football....It's just Biology. Female football doesn't have academies or little to no academies....They get drafted straight from high schools, colleges, center of excellence etc. Example, Jessie Fleming has close to 120 Caps for Canada, and she's just only 25 ( She made her debut as a 14 yr old ), if she plays for another 10 years, she'll most likely add another 100 Caps. There's a reason why there're over 500 women with 100+ Caps, despite their game just being relevant for a little over 2 decades now. 1 Like |

I just rewatched the Nigeria v Canada game. Damn!! Oshoala really messed up big time twice in that one play. We could have actually won a penalty there ( at 34' ) because the Canadian goalkeeper actually clipped Oshoala's legs and completely missed the ball when she came for it but Oshoala decided to stay up even when she was unbalanced ๐คฆโโ๏ธ, Not only that, she somehow contrived to shoot with the outside of her boot from a tight angle instead of controlling, set up and calmly shooting with her instep! ( What Kinda magic was she hoping to conjure with an outside the boot shot from a tight angle? ) ๐ฉ๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ Also, Why was Francisca the only person able to get into the 18 in that play, despite being on the same line on the field ( Latitude ) with Deborah and Ifeoma when that play started?. In fact Deborah stopped running all together and was watching that even Toni who was way behind her caught up with Francisca trying to rebound or win the ball back up the field....and Deborah played as the number 10 in the first half ๐คฆโโ๏ธ 4 Likes |

lovewins: I totally agree with you for the most part, but I think any comparisons between Caicedo and Flourish is also valid. Linda has had more exposure than Flourish, as she's been with the Colombian women's national team for over 5 years now, in fact since when she was a 14yr old, so invariably she'll also have more experience than Flourish. She's where she is now, not only because of her talent, but also because someone saw it fit to take a punt at an inexperienced 14yr old girl. Same could be said of Maika Hamano too who Chelsea signed. She got noticed because she plays for a known team and the Japanese national team. Flourish is highly talented and her types are a rarity in the women's game, but she's not gonna be that "Next thing" if all she does is play in the NWPL. For all the talent(s) someone may have, if they aren't given the opportunities, then it'll all go to waste., PS: Colombia has a better women's football program than Nigeria ( I don't even know if we'll call ours a program, tbh). Some of these girls even the boys from South America always go to football camps and programs all around Europe to be discovered or given the opportunities while ours have to either fund themselves or get exploited by these "So called agents" and other shoddy characters and farmed out like labor slaves to Kazakstan, Azerbaijan and other countries I can't even spell just to get a head start in football...Smh. |

Deltamani: "Nigeria Internationals" ๐๐๐ญ๐ญ Why not wait to see if they could secure moves to places like Scandinavian or Balkan countries... I understand that they maybe the breadwinners for their families, but aint no way they get paid more than $1,500/month in those countries and clubs they're rushing to. |

BascoVanVeli: I checked each player from each team individually from their club profiles, google and FbRef, which was an arduous task. The list released by Fifa is inaccurate... Example; Tosin is Listed as 5'6 ( Meanwhile she's way taller than Monday Gift who is also 5'6 ). Ashleigh is listed as 5'7 and She's taller than Nnadozie who is 5'11 ๐๐๐ Here's the Fifa list link tho https://fdp.fifa.org/assetspublic/ce93/pdf/SquadLists-English.pdf 1 Like |

Deltamani: Australia isn't "Certainly Taller" than us. They're actually shorter overall. They have 7 Players who are 5'8 plus, while we have 12 Players who are 5'8 plus. The Australian team has a bunch of 5'3 and 5'4 players, Their CBs Kennedy and Hunt are 5'9, Clare is 5'7. Our CBs are: Onome, Ogbonna and Ohale - 5'9 Tosin- 5'8 Ashleigh - 5'11 1/2 We just don't make use of our height well. |
Sports / Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by ThePresenceWtf: 8:21am On Jul 23, 2023 |
Odogwujayy: Nope, Amanda is 5'10. But yeah, I agree with you, we gotta be aggressive attacking set pieces. we usually have good delivery from Toni, but poor set piece coordination. Other than Ashleigh, no one even attempts attacking set pieces. Oshoala usually hangs out in the back post just watching play unfold while doing nothing. Demehin just stands in the middle ball watching, Ohale tussles, but doesn't jump for the ball, Onumonu tries but doesn't jump either. 3 Likes |

BascoVanVeli: The Coach is Playing a 3-4-3 with Asllani and Rolfรถ both playing as the double 10's behind Stina. That's not her game, she's an out and out Wide player looking to beat her marker with pace and whip in a cross first time or arrive late at the back post to score. She doesn't have the agility, creativity and spatial awareness to play behind a striker. 1 Like |
