Bluespice, ko ba e fun kini yen? |
This is so good. I hope the test is positive. It'd be nice. |
amosexy:Sorry sweetie, but you're. You've been raining insults on your own people. Do you remember what they say? "T'aba so'ko s'oja a ba ara'le" If you throw stones in the public, it hits your very own |
Remii:OK, my stand still is that no one is from Lagos state. And how do you become indigenes in Nigeria? Being indigenous in Nigeria means your generation from way back starts from there. Tinubu is from Osun State hence, he's no indigene of Lagos neither is Jakande. What does being an indigene mean in Nigeria? Tell me |
@Egun, ooooohhhh, they used to say those people are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too dumb |
Remii:The only people that can claim to be Lagosians are the EPEs and AWORIs, any other people claiming they are Lagosians are disillusioned. |
I think it had to do with lots of disagreement from Ekiti quarters about power sharing and all. Ekiti believed they were more learned and need to rule, Ondo refused them that. So they clamored for a State. They have lots of professors and of course, londoners who pulled strings here and there to make it work. The general belief was, Ondo didn't deserve to have people of Ekiti's intelligence. This is what I heard, and I can't certify how true it is. |
THE CURRENT ALAAFIN IS THE LIGHT VERSION OF LATE ADEDIBU |
Remii:Yes, closest to the officially written one but that's not where Yorubas are from. If you ask me, Ife should be the official language for Yorubas but y'all don't like them that much. |
Back to Osun's relationship with Oyo. Osun had more political leaders than Oyo State because it was governed mostly by Osun State natives. Remii:Oh yea, he's bleaching. |
Gabry:Why? |
FL Gators:Recent Alaafin is Oba 'Lamidi Adeyemi. Yes, they have heavy accent. Ifes hate them as passion |
FL Gators:Yes, most of them aren't good looking. They mostly have coarse dark skin(light skinned are 1:15 ratio if not more), big lips, they eat lots of kolanut and drink palm wine to the fullest. They like to jest with their wives and mother. |
So no one is from Ile-Ife here? Or even Modakeke? Oh, I think Tpia is from Modakeke -- or is it Gbongan --- they are the same anyways. Have the same accent. Now, let's talk tribal marks. I think Oyo State indigenes are so gifted in this area. |
FL Gators:An Oyo man will make you believe what he's not, which is, dumb and stupid. He can sell you right in your face without knowing. There's a usual saying, "Oyo dobale, ti inu Oyo, l'oyo o se" bluespice:Iseyin and Komu men are generally intelligent. They understand rules of trade. They are good business merchants. They are never shy. Even if they sell shit for business, they are always proud of it. They don't steal but their young men like to put up a lot of fights. |
lagos but I've lived everywhere.
Unless we want to start claiming where we're all born as being citizens of there, no one is from Lagos. Where's your dad from? Where was your paternal grandfather from? Trace it back there, that's where you're from. bluespice:Saki!!!! Hmmm. . . they make pots but I know them mostly for manufacturing guns. They are quietly controversial. Oyo men will act like they are stupid but they are crafty on the inside. |
amosexy:Sorry sweetheart. Gbongans are Modakekes and vice versa. When war broke out, they moved to Modakeke. Later on Modakekes moved back to Gbongan. Those who didn't want to stay in Gbongan went to form Ode Omu. That's why you'll run into Ode Omu next to Gbongan without knowing at all. |
Moremi was the woman who offered her son, Oluorogbo as a sacrificial lamb to a goddess of Esinmirin in order to set the IFES free from the captivity of UGBO |
whiteroses:The school I think is still in existence. I think the school you're talking about is Jolayemi area, am I correct? Capital hotel is still intact and yes, it's around Estate area. Do you have an idea where your friend lives? I can ask a friend down there to trace her up for you. Get back at me. @ FL Gators, Oyo men are hardworking men, but they are too local and are easily manipulated. You might think they are crafty but deep inside them is where venom resides. And MOREMI is the first female king in Ile-Ife. |
Remii:I'm stating what I know so far. So what's it that I've stated that's not true? Tell me. FL Gators:I didn't categorize all men to be the same. I'm stating what's more common in these areas and if anyone has a different objectives, I'm ready to take them on. Of course, out of every 12, there's a Judas -- always. It's widely believed, and no offense to the Ibadans, that they are commonly thieves and they generally have concubines. But does that mean they are all the same? Maybe you're not understanding where I'm coming from. |
amosexy:Who says men are stupid! Gbongan men, uhmmm, I don't really know a lot about them but the ones I've known are pretty much laid back. When you go there what you see is men generally helping out sales for their wives. Some say it's metaphysical power at work, some say it ain't. But if it is, that paints Gbongan women red. By the way, I've not seen Ikire, Ede, Ipetumodu, Ife, Iwo, Apomu, Esa-Oke? I have to mention we have some great people from Osun State too. The present governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola was two-time military administrator in Lagos State. Do I go on? |
I watched a documentary about that guy. He's grown and has a kid now. His wife is very beautiful, and so is the child.
E get anything wey you no dey see? |
WHAT IS THE COMMOTION GOING ON HERE BEEN YANKEEZOO AND SPIKECYLINDER? What's the word-trading all about? Slow down girls, this is a forum. |
FL Gators:Naw sweetie. I ain't stubborn. I'm just definite. |
Eyeonigger, I'm so virgin |
FL Gators:When you have your mind set on what you have to achieve within justifiable limits that's determination. When you're defying whatever odd, positive or negative, to do what's not generally accepted not to be right, that's first degree stubbornness and Ekiti has an abundance of that. I salute their courage though. Of course, there are condescending facts about some Osun men. I'm not a hypocrite. Osogbo men don't have courage. They are lazy. Osogbo women are more workaholics and are always responsible for feeding the family. Ife men like going to parties. They are diplomatic. Ede men are stupid, don't care about their family. They can marry 10 wives at a go. Does that sound balanced to you? |
FL Gators:Don't go there with Osun men. We're special. Too special. We simply know how to treat women. The only town that shares your level of stubbornness is Ilesha; yet their women aren't as stubborn as the Ekitis. You know sometimes, an Ekiti can be cluelessly stubborn! |
FL Gators, you can't marry an Ekiti man? That speaks volume. I no fit shout! ![]() |
amosexy:Ekiti and Ilesha share the same quality and quantity of stubbornness. And about their names, yes, it mostly ends with "mi" |
FL Gators, Osun men are very romantic, loving and understanding. Ile-Ife men are more concerned with their women. If you ask Ifeleke, he'll tell you Ilesha women are good cooks, the best I've seen. Didn't they say the way to a man's heart is his stomach? Well, that's how they get their men trapped and Ijesha men are lovers of pounded yam "Iyan". If you know how to make that, you're already in their good books. If you don't, you shall be taught. Generally, Ijesha love their women and care about them too. I can't say the same about Ibadan though or Ekiti. Osogbo are absolutely one man one wife mostly. |
Gbongan was founded by Olufi. He was a son of the then Alaafin of Oyo, Abiodun Adegoriolu. Olufi left Oyo because of the crisis at the wake of his father's death. Many Oyo natives migrated with Olufi. I think he took Igori route or so, moved to Songbe and eventually laid to rest at Gbongan Ile. Oyo became distablized, some smaller communities took chance on Oyo to establish their own domains. The soldiers of fortune made it possible for the Fulanis to swoop and destroy many Oyo towns. When Fulani got hold of Oyo, the natives moved out and spread across along Ile-Ife: Some settled with Olufi and some in Origbo(Ipetumodu & co). Those who settled in Ife later amalgamated with Modakeke. Some people from Origbo later settled into Gbongan as well. Gbongan's peace was interrrupted when Fulani defeated Afonja in Ilorin and they formed forces with Iwo Muslims to attack Gbongan, Ikire and Ipetumodu. They flee their towns and refuged at Ile-Ife. That is why till today, these towns have a good relationship with Ife. When the decision to rebuild Gbongan came, a different site was chosen -- or so -- I think. The sad part is, Ibadan prevailed on Gbongan to be an ally in the Kiriji war. Gbongan fought as an ally of Ibadan also in the Modakeke war. That's why most Modakekes moved to settle in Gbongan in 1909 before Ode Omu was founded in 1910 for the Modakekes who chose to settle in seperate towns. . . . . I think this is the true history of Gbongan, Amosexy! |
