I like that decision. There is nothing new under the sun. You need to secure your future, it is far more important than a loff relationship.
Lots of medical students i have seen do not even date at all (the guy) till they finish (for those that can cope).
Yes plus that, parents forced me into medicine because they saw I have the talent of being a doctor, but I have passion for the legal field. My point still is, whatever field anyone is, that's what should come first not relationships. Although relationships are important, but it has to be on a balanced scale with your education.

I think the parents might be right from experience. 70% of poor guys married to a girl from a rich home always have an clandestine motive. You know -- when girls are spoilt -- by their daddies it's always difficult for a poor guy to come up to that standard, he either will see her as being too childish or being totally unreasonable which I can't blame either for because they are from different worlds.

Some are wicked that they maltreat a daddy's pet because they think she's being stupid. Such girls will suffer hell in their hands especially when her dad dies. I've seen a lot of those cases.
Romance › Re: Must Girlfriends Demand An Allowance? by TheSeeker(m): 6:08pm On Jul 21, 2009
I think it depends on the rich wanting more class for their kids. They have spent their whole life raising the kid not to suffer from anything, especially when it comes to finances. They'd always want someone with the same experience. Some are still more comfortable with their son marrying from a poor family, but when it comes to a daughter, it's a NO NO

Sorry sweetie, I didn't say that to insult. It's a slang here used by guys which simply states a guy's got to put his mind into making and spending money. If I say money on my mind, I got its making networked all over my brain. If I say it's on my conscience, it means I'm mindful of how and what to spend it on. Sorry again if it cut across as an insult but that wasn't the intention

There are two different types of broke dudes, the lazy ones and the hard-working determined ones showing signs of at least trying to break through their current state of poverty.

I'm sure most ladies wouldn't even smell the lazy one talkless of considering a relationship with him, I am one of them, as for the hard-working and determined one, heck yes, no problem.
The same goes for every woman. I'd NEVER settle for a lazy woman.

@EVERYONE
Does anyone have an idea why some rich parents wouldn't want their daughter to marry a bloke from a financially poor background?

Hi TheSeeker,

Don't worry, my sisters know what I am saying is the truth as they all would not want their brothers sucked dry by a woman at any cost because, she made him happy grin grin grin grin grin.  Its our duties as sisters to protect our brothers from harmful women and our brothers are there to look out for us and that's why having a sibling is very important.

And should any HOTTIE comes after me, be sure this FIRE will eat them alive and they won't have mouth to ask for another monthly ALLOWANCE ever again, when I myself work my butt off.

[b]Yeah right, on occasions our men should buy us things for example, BIRTHDAYS, CHRIStMAS, EASTER, CHRISTENING CEREMONIES, WEDDINGS, sometime important functions etc, that's normal - not demanding a monthly salary from his very small wage that's absurd and defeats the idea of two people in-love. Unless if you don't love each other then re-classify your relationship as CASUAL in other words:  anything goes!!

This girlfriend we are talking about, why can't she find a job, do any job no matter how small it pays and save her dignity instead of pretentiously selling sex to the guy whilst claiming to be a GIRLFRIEND that's wrong. Better show yourself up as a POLE and TABEL dancer rather than pretending to be what you are not 'AN INNOCENT, NICE GIRL' that has not not been touched by any man except him cool cool grin grin grin grin.  At least, the guy would know exactly where he stands, what he's getting and where to find you when next he needs you probably, on the POLE TABLE - eeezy pee eeezy

They are going to start hating or talking at you . . . . but don't you worry I'm right behind you to defend if any of them dares talk silly. Go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

simple - taking responsibility!!!!!!
There are two responsibilities widely accepted over a woman -- A parent's responsibility, when she's old enough, they hand her over to her husband who takes care of her until the day she dies(of course if they are still married). So which category does a guy taking responsibility over a girl belong? Please let me know. How about the girl take care of the guy? Oh we dare not bring that up and we shall hear different name calling here. A lady posted some days ago asking if she can giver her boyfriend money, we know what y'all girls said. Hypocrites!! Police aren't people to be proud of in Nigeria. All over the world if anything happens, you can trust the police. How can you trust them when they are the citizen killers? If you are traveling with large sum of money in some big bag; if you run into them you had better give them some money or you and your bag of money will be missing without official report.

Yes, an average 9JA guy who's yet to be used for ritual; an average 9JA a.k.a. foolish gold digger. The only 9JA guy who I know can take that are two categories: Either stupid or risk-taking guys. Otherwise, no one in their right sense will not reject it.

Wow. I've agreed with you so far but what you shouldn't be doing is generalising.
I'm not sure if thats what you mean but how can you conclude that Ini Edo or Genevieve don't work hard for their money and wait for men to pay their bills? Is acting no longer an occupation? huh
No, I didn't generalize. If you look back into the comment I said ". . . but not all of them". Sorry I was wrong because I didn't indicate in the previous comment that I meant their lives in the movies. Acting is an occupation as prostitution too . . . it's all a matter of choice. All I know is a woman gotta hustle for her own money. If she has her own money and decides he wants a rich guy for a boyfriend, she well deserves it; because then we won't call it gold digging, we will call it "you dey find your level". So the Ini & Gen's comment was about their lives in most of their movie flicks, not their real life. I don't know them anyways.
Romance › Re: Must Girlfriends Demand An Allowance? by TheSeeker(m): 1:55pm On Jul 21, 2009
I have to say though that there are a lot of women out there who are out fending for themselves. They are most workaholics. They know they have to take care of themselves . . . . they see other women hustling and they join the race all of a sudden it's become an atmosphere of competition -- an endless one at that. You can see where Keisha Cole, Trina and Keri Hilson are singing saying some guy/girl should "get their money up". "if you know you got it, you gotta show me how you're getting it". They want to hustle and that's the idea of so many women out there. Prostitution is hustling, I have more respect for them than these so-called good girls who are always after your money. Nigerian women especially are nothing to write home about; but not all of them. There are still some of them who still have good home training in their brains while some have adopted an "INI EDO" & "GENEVIVIE NNAJI" kind of lifestyle -- living at the expense of men's wealth. Most of them haven't gone out there to see what it is like for women to be on there own. That's why they always have to endure whatever their boyfriends do because they are in there for the money.

When something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Why would a girl I met a month ago buy me a Hummer Jeep? First of all, I don't like Hummer -- it ain't sleek. Secondly, what kind of work does engage in to make her afford Hummer? Why did she buy me the Hummer? I won't ask her because no matter what, she'll always lie to me anyways. I'll just reject the Jeep and find my exit out of her life. Maybe the next thing is she'll use me for money ritual who knows.
Romance › Re: Must Girlfriends Demand An Allowance? by TheSeeker(m): 12:56pm On Jul 21, 2009
vikkieb:
whats this controversy about? A guy feels its wrong to give to his "lover"(wen he can afford it), fine then go on being tite fisted and see the outcome. love naturally gives so if you claim to be in love n cant give then it could'nt be love. Even a gurl can give allowance to her guy if shes in the position to do so, i mean its all about the word LOVE.if only you know what it truely means.
@sugarbella's first post, thumps up!
This is beginning to be more interesting with baseless principles from nonsensical school of thoughts. In LOVE's book, where does it say that a guy's refusal to give his girlfriend money when she needs it is not LOVE? Since when has love been equated to giving money? What are the elements that keep a relationship glowing? I'll educate you.

***Communication
***Patience
***Understanding
***Love
And a lot more. Where does money fall in this? Oh yeah right, you'd say he'd understand she needs the money for what please? I have to mention though, if she's the kind that's not loaded and I need her to look good, for sure, if I can afford it I will give her all the money she needs to look good and buy her clothes too . . . . but she will not go about thinking it's statutorily mandated for me to pay her some kind of allowance. Besides, I won't date a lazy woman with no class. I love a woman who will always tell me she doesn't care about my money and what I have; even if she's pretending. Guys have the wrong impression that when you give a woman money she won't sleep around. Lie! It's always in the blood -- if a woman will sleep around --- she will. Don't Governors' wives sleep around? Don't female ministers sleep around? Didn't Trina cheat on Lil' Wayne with P.Diddy? P.Diddy didn't give her money?
50 Cent has a problem with his baby momma because he refused to be a fool. He made his money and the foolish girl said "he promised to give me the house". She even unashamedly took the case to court saying 50 told her he'll giver her the house . . . A house she never was part of buying -- despite the fact that 50 Cent is catering for her first son she had with another man before she dated 50. That's pure gold digging. I have the belief that she set the house ablaze and if people think it's 50, well it's his house.
Romance › Re: Your Ex Still Calls you, What Does It Mean by TheSeeker(m): 12:40pm On Jul 21, 2009
Your ex calling you can depict different things depending on who he is.

If you were the "too kind" kind of person, he just might miss that and want you back; after he has tried elsewhere and found you to be the best.

If you're an influential kind of girl -- or at least -- you have some kind of rich and influential folks, he might want to mend fences with you just so he might tap off that wealth.

Another reason cannot be unconnected with the fact that some people never realize the value of what they have until they have lost it. He may have come to terms with the things he did wrong that he wants to right. Some guys feel remorseful when they think they haven't reciprocated the kind of love they got from their girlfriend before they break up hence, they want to make up and take everything back to where it started from and do it right.

He might see you as emotionally available and vulnerable as well. Some men like to take advantage of women. He may have seen you lately and think you look sexier and more beautiful; then wanting back to have some of that.

Another dimension to the above, though might be superstitious, but it's for real. There are certain women men get involved with and whilst they have the relationship going, it'll be all GOOD LUCK in all aspects of their lives. Everything they do falls into place. Everywhere he turns to he finds luck. Sadly, he didn't know this while the relationship lasted. Dates some other girls and things became rough for him, sharply declining into a cesspool state. He turns back to you for luck. Trust me, this is widely believed in Nigeria especially and I have often found it to be very true. Some ladies are just blessed with luck to shine on whoever they are with. I guess that depends on where you are, Poster.

The other reason might be he wants to be a gentleman and make amends with you, not for anything else but for friendship sake. Some guys just love peace whether or not you are no longer dating. But you know how you broke up. Hence, you'll be the one to determine if he wants peace of some sort. Maybe he misses you as well. Maybe he needs some advice from you. It could be anything. Don't straight up ask him why he's calling you or you'll never know his intentions. I'd say don't see him, keep the conversations on the PHONE ONLY until he expresses why he's keeping in touch with you. In good time, you'll know why he's calling you.
Romance › Re: Must Girlfriends Demand An Allowance? by TheSeeker(m): 12:17pm On Jul 21, 2009
@Whitelexi, I didnt know you're still here. I'm leaving another comment.

Sugabelle says her boyfriend's care about her, buys her stuffs and all of that? Does she work at all? I called her boyfriend a "certified mugu" and she caught fire and flamed up. Well, what kind of guy goes around to give money to a girl when obviously she isn't orphaned? Let me tell y'all gold diggers something. When a guy starts to pay a girlfriend, what will he do to his wife when he eventually gets married to another woman? Pay her too? If he ends up marrying such girl, what happens? Increase of allowance? "Honey you know I've upgraded from a girlfriend to a wife I demand an increment"? kinda statement comes up? If a guy decided he wants to give money to his girlfriend is totally out of the question now. But it's not culturally and morally supported for a guy to pay allowance to a girlfriend. I'm not sure no guy will proudly go and tell his friends that he pays his girlfriend some kind of allowance.

But, girls can go ahead and tell her friends and they'd tell her "oh he's a nice guy" at their back of their mind they will say "oh please he's a fool". What evolves later on is one of her friends ending up seducing her boyfriend and taking him from her. Then the quarrel of boyfriend snatcher comes into play. Why do you think she took him? Not because she thinks he's a good guy but because he's a potential mugu who thinks he's Mother Theresa.

Paying a girlfriend is synonymous to paying a prostitute. If a LovePeddler stays with me for three months of course I should expect to part with some money and if that happens with a girlfriend, well y'all go figure what class she belongs. I hate lazy girls, girls who don't know what's for them. They have limitations and are far from making any meaningful impact in their own life. Tell me if she's working, why should I pay her? If she's studying, who started sponsorship of her studies?

Contemporarily, women are clamoring for gender equality, they are making exploits, you see them everywhere in politics, in arts, legal fields, medical fields, everywhere and some lazy ass b*tchy f8ck is expecting a hardworking guy to pay her? I say tell her to open her mouth wide and I'll sh*t inside it. Bullass!
