Diesel is 1,650 here. Irregular prices continues. |
YourGFsnatcher: voskia:He shouldn't have problem speaking Hausa then. Kanke and Kanam is gradually becoming like Wase. |
TOMMYS: |
Langtang people will never publicly agree that they are Hausas or know how to speak it. It was an attempted media coup against Gowon and the people of langtang in plateau state. They have ditched Hausa language long ago. They are Tarok people. Not Hausa. |
DeLaRue:The subsidy on Diesel should not be about importation of diesel but making our local refineries to focus more on Diesel. The government keep looking for foreign currency to import what we can produce in the country and then subsidize it while incurring deficit in forex. This is cluelessness. If we are producing Diesel from our refinery, no one will notice that the product is subsidized because the subsidy will be in payment of workers from government coffers which is in naira. The only time people will understand that the product is subsidized is when the price is compared with it prices in other countries. |
kettykin:This is part and most important of the solutions to our economic woes. Localization of industries is key to food security and economic recovery. But this is going to be too much capital intensive and requires much time to achieve this. Again, security challenges needs to be addressed. The industries already in the north like NASCO for instance has not been innovative in creating quality that will make demand for products from factories located in Lagos to have less demands. No breweries in the north because of religious oppositions. So some of these things needs to be addressed. But for a quick fix, for visible results, diesel has to be addressed. |
Nigerians will begin to smuggle this too out of the country but if governor is proactive, it can see the thought of those having that mindset before they actually commit the crime and find ways to control it. |
The quickest way to fix the economy is controlling the price of diesel. It is as simple as that. If the price of diesel is subsidized today everything will be fixed automatically. Let me give you some example. Golden penny factory is in Lagos. They will need maize to produce semovita. But the bulk of this comes from the north. Due to the bulkiness and quantity needed by the factory, Diesel powered trucks are used to transport the raw materials from the north to Lagos. Each of this trip costs gonden penny close to 2 million naira to convey the raw maize to Lagos when calculated based on current price. Mind you the price of the maize has not been factored in which is also relatively high because of high cost of production resulting from high cost of fertilizers and chemicals which also has high production cost. Everything is relative. The raw maize is now processed by golden penny factory using equipments that runs on Diesel powered generators. This is another reason why pure water seem to be beyond the reach of people on the streets as cost of production is high owing to equipment that runs on Diesel, and cost of production of packaging nylons of which the equipments runs on Diesel. The processed product is ready for distribution. Now it has to be transported again back to places they are needed using the same Diesel powered vehicles. The price of this product is set while factoring in the cost of production, transportation and storage of the products. This is the reason things are on a constant rise and as long as the price of diesel has not been rectified, every thing will continue in this upward trend. Dangote is going to control the economy of this country when his Diesel is ready. But if the government is having any will to handle the economy and make it follow the directions it dictate, the federal government needs to start Diesel production in every working refinery and push it to the market at a very subsidized amount. This is not to discourage Dangote but to let him know that the economy is the responsibility of the government. While dollar is dictating the price of diesel imported, it is not dollar that is pushing our local foods up. It is diesel. |
This question is the reason the world fears Nigeria. We can not be honest about anything. |
fineboynl:Change petrol station. |
Does he need moral support? I have 100 bags of moral support to donate. |
Maxxim:The government will incur no loss. They will be in possession of your dollar for investment which are channeled into profitable businesses and payout naira to anyone who intents to cash out their wallet token. Every dollar you deposit into your crypto wallet is into someones business and not in the air. It is what the government is yet to understand. Bit coin rises and falls based on outputs of the businesses. No one gives you free money anywhere. Government should understand this and create a platform where earners of forex can lodge in their earnings to get benefits from their investment. The cash out will not be in dollar but in Naira. But the problem is that the government has told themselves that they can not do business due to corruption which is their making. So how can they invest peoples money and make gains from it. So the people are left to be preyed on by dishonest private individuals. |
Bintasukai: thank you. I give God all the glory. I want to thank my mum, my dad, my brother, my sister, my uncles and aunties. I want to also thank my friends and enemies and all those who made this possible. I really appreciate. God bless you all... ![]() |
Fire brigade and threat won't solve anything. I advised long ago for the government to create it own token/wallet that can appreciate over time but they refuse. Now dollar is rising like crypto. |
It is not Atiku talking. Lets just ignore him. But business man can not loose. He will just add twice what ever charge they paid to custom on the price of the goods. Nigeria in quest of generating revenue created the inflation we are crying of daily. They keep making reference to investing in Agriculture as if the inflation was caused by too few goods and not cost of production, cost of transportation, cost of storage, cost of security and clearance cost not to mention middlemen. |
I have applied for passport online since 2021 but have not gone for physical capture because of my work schedule. I have deliberately not scheduled another appointment since 2021 because I have missed my first schedule due to work and I only have one more left as only 2 chances were provided. After the media frenzy by the interior minister about making passport application available online, I thought something new was added. Quick check appears that everything was the same. So why the frenzy. I understand the need to make a ministry appear to be working, it should go about it in a truthful manner. |
Ministry of transport had to pay transport operators just to subsidize transport fares during the festive season. We are yet to see the beneficiaries of such good gesture by the government. But we onlookers believe it was all for fund diversion to take place. Ministry of transportation should have vehicles on the road on subsidize amount constantly. But nothing to show. One clueless minister thought what we need is a transportation university and not vehicles on the road. If we have aviation school, why not transport school. As long as we have people who are clueless about the priorities of the ministries they are appointed to head or supervised, they will will focus on something else. |
The agriculture ministry and the research institute have not been doing enough. The root crops research institute had a break through in cassava variety they call 419 stem that yields unbelievable output but it is not readily available or tested in the north with vast land mass. They are supposed to be working to reduce the duration it takes for the casava roots to be harvested so that regions with less rain duration can get the maximum benefit of the breakthrough. The varieties of rice in the market are really not that good especially in the north. We use to have a fine variety in benue state that has long grain it seems to have gone extinct. The ministry should work and get these special breeds that makes farming fun. |
The housing ministry award contract to themselves at exorbitant amount making it impossible for building of low cost houses for public subscription. Ministry of works and housing should have a cement factory, run a quarry, plastic industries and ceramics. They should also be involved in a steel factory and a timber factory. These are the industries that produces most of the materials used in building and constructions. They should have staffs who actually works and not just those who carry files from office to office. |
The government is overwhelmed by clueless selfish officers who are beneficiaries of appointments and another set of smart and intelligent appointees who are caged by departmental bureaucracy in government parastatal. As it stands now, there is nothing that the government is producing that the citizens can subscribe to so that some of their earnings can go back to the government. The political jobbers are mostly living tax free and they earn over 50% of government recurrent expenditure. |

Generation1:That weakness is the strongest thing in a man. No gree for anybody is not a comment from the strong. It is from the weak taking a stand against their fears, usually a strong opposition. |
Easier said than done. Regrets is unhealable. He can forgive but forgetting won't happen. It will always ring a bell when giving his best is demanded from him. |
LoveLeadsLand:Definitely not Igbo. We can't claim this word. But somehow, Igbo belong to edo and benue. I still can't understand the meaning of the name of some communities in my locality. They sound edo or tiv. |

DystopianMuse:You know this is not true. For you to link any sim to a NIN, the name on the registered sim must match with the name on NIN. Also, your face ID is also matched with that on your NIN. So for anyone to take possession of such sim that is pre registered such must successfully modify the name on the pre-registered sim. The only way some one can have a sim registered to another person and linked to someone's NIN is if the real owner misplaced it and chose not to look for it, or gave it out or if the sim reg attendant did dual sim registration on your behalve without your consent and kept one for fraud. This is why you need to go to MTN care to link your NIN for MTN users. Anyways, it doesn't hurt to check the numbers linked to your NIN. |

100smile:they don't know. They can never understand since they have not tasted heaven. |
MsAllison:The truth is Nigeria has leased the crude oil it will be producing for about a year now for loan. That deal was shady but agreement has to be honored. Dangote, if he is not a foreign mole to sabotage the economy, should not shut down business just because Nigeria can not meet up with his refinery's crude oil need. So he will source for dollars to import crude oil where he deem best or from partners that has offered workable modalities and agreeable terms. Again, some crude oil needs to be blended with different variety for better output. This could be one angle to look at his need to import crude oil. The government on the other hand should and is trying to increase daily crude oil output to meet up with domestic demand for local refineries while meeting up with OPEC quota for foreign demands. I believe that is one of the president mission in France. Now that we have debt to pay and local demand for crude oil by local refineries, we can not go wrong by increasing the volume of crude oil extraction. This is our window to exceed OPEC qoata. |
DIVINEEVIDENCE:There was no response whatsoever from DSTV Angola. And again, the handler referenced different handles for the imaginary DSTV Angola. This is not MTN VS AIRTEL kind of banter. It was a deliberate PR for DSTV. |
