What do you think should be put in place for this current regime to achieve this under 8 years
If we introduce a new currency and call it nogree, and 1nogree is valued at 1,000 naira, that would mean 1dollar is valued at 1.5nogree. case solved.
Having one dollar equal 500naira is not even feasible unless there is crisis in US and Nigeria is the only safe place for them to run to.

Nigeria is broke and doesn't have any forex to finance it's economy and service it's huge debt.
The two borrowings that this present Government is responsible for the free fall of the naira.
Government doesn't pay salaries with forex so how can it be broke. If government make use of local contractors, there wouldn't be pressure on the forex we earn. It is lack of foresight and will that is the problem and not just borrowing. The way out of debt is not accumulating more debt. It is not offering your creditors crude oil worth 12 billion dollars for a loan of 3.3billion dollars. There is a lot going on wrong because of fear of failing. The government needs to face it fears and not try to cover it with cosmetics.

Nice little epistle..,

So whose job is it to stop or curb all these ?

Whose table does this buck stop?
It takes being human. It is a collective responsibility. Every policy that the government may push forward requires human effort for it to work. But the Nigeria mentality is that any office you are appointed to head is your settlement. Where man dey work na there he dey chop is the reason nothing is working. We are our own problem.

Yes, I agree that the president is to be held accountable for the direction the country has headed, but I have seen him take genuine steps that should make things work but he has to obey quota so that regions and states are represented in his government. So the performance of the country's economy is dependent on the performance of his appointees and their deliveries on the economic policies.

Stop confusion yourself.
That value of dollar like any other commodity does rise and fall. This is an incontrovertible fact.
Dollar is not a commodity. It is a currency. The rise and fall of dollar rate is as a result of shortfall in availability. It is not a commodity that will require intervention in production for stable rate so the rise and fall is artificial.

Aboki fx is not a broker.
Even if it is, it would have to be managed by the most unintelligent folks we have in the country.
You don't announce to buy an item at an arbitrary price
Dollar is not a stock to be brokered. Aboki FX is a trader used by anti development institution working against the government. Their rates are arbitrary. CBN has to push up it rate because people that have access were taking dollar from CBN and exchanging at black market rate. CBN will allocate dollar to arbitrary firms for import only for them to trade it in the black market.
grin grin grin
Any money that comes into the bank is essentially in the right channel.
CBN do not push up exchange rate. In fact, it lacks the power to do so.
You speak based on your understanding. Most bank tellers are doing their own Hussle. They smile each time someone comes with dollar for exchange. They make more money from black market sales of dollar than their take home salaries. This is private businesses inside the bank. They contact their black market plug every morning for rates. This I have seen. No falseprophet
Again nobody pays huge amount for dollars. Dollar is not some heavenly ID card.
So why is it exchanged as such an amount. Why not boycott the dollar if it is unimportant.
Dollar is mostly useless to those who gets their Naira fraudulently.
You can't get Naira cheaply, you either work for it or steal it from someone else.
That has nothing to do with ease or difficulty.
The word cheap and easy are not synonyms. When someone abuse his office for personal gain, it is cheaply gotten wealth. At least, you agree with me that the high rate of fx is as a result of people who got their wealth fraudulently exchanging their naira to dollar at any amount.
PoliticsRe: How Is It That Tinubu Cannot Halt Naira Downward Slide? by thesolutions(m):
The dollar or naira doesn't rise and fall. The only thing that rises and falls is the demand for those pieces of paper and the general cost of production.
In the US for instance, the cost of bottled water doesn't suddenly increase. As long as the production cost remain the same, the price will remain the same. That is economics.
But in Nigeria, everything is tied to the dollar as if the dollar has become our national currency. The demand for dollars by japa candidates and politicians that loots our treasury and business owners who are import based businesses makes individuals that earn dollars to sell to the highest bidder. If aboki fx announce that they will buy dollar for N1,500 tomorrow, it doesn't mean that dollar is N1,500. It means that someone has offered to pay Aboki fx maybe N1,550 to a dollar. It doesn't mean that the value of dollar is put to be N1,500. It is just Aboki fx offering rate to make people sell the dollar to them instead of taking it to bank.
The banks capitalized on these and sell the dollar they receive from customers to these black marketers of dollar without letting it pass through approved regulated channels. This is what forced CBN to push up exchange rate to dollar and even offer extra 5naira to any dollar received but these guys at black market always tends to offer more.
Because the demand for dollars is still high, you can only expect upward exchange rate because most of those that pay these huge amount for a dollar gets the naira fraudulently and cheaply.
The only way out is for government to work on cost of production but it seems they are just short sighted like every other government.
The power sector is dealing with Nigerians. Instead of government to improve power and reduce tariffs charge on power to the minimum, they chose to sell it to money mongers who only care about profits and not results. Dangote refinery has taken off and is producing Diesel which should be celebrated, but it is all for profit and not to reduce cost of production. Though it will reduce demand for dollars to import the product he will be producing, but if the price is not brought down to max of N200, it will not change a thing in the prices of goods and services. The worst is, government is planning on selling it own refinery. So it means no checks to dangote refinery. He will determine what price he sells his product just like they have done to cement.
An economy that government doesn't have industries that act as check and balance to private businesses, the masses suffers.

The cost of production is extremely high, the cost of transport is extremely high. The cost of storage and preservation is extremely high. And now, the cost of security has to be factored in again. Everything will continue to be on the upward rise.

I guess it is Lalong that drew your attention to my post. I tried not to mention Lalong in the crisis in Mangu for sanity sake but you are quick to try to exonerate him makes my suspicion more valid.

Lalong used the military to stop congresses of the PDP in plateau state claiming coronavirus The governor was a victim of the harassment. The governor being from the same PDP getting close to the president was a threat to him. He had to run from ministerial position because he has nothing to offer. I am not a member of a political party but was caught is their political game. Politics has remain a game to these murderous elements that justify killings. I have not forgotten Killings in Naraguta Village under his and military supervision. So not mentioning him is for sanity sake because the crisis is not mine to solve.

I am not claiming to be right but speaking according to my understanding. So feel free to offer your ideas instead.

It might or might not be mining activities, but two things are certain. One, this crisis is more complicated than the way it is presented - simply muslm/Christian. Secondly someone or some group is benefitting from this crisis continuing. That's why the locals need to "get their heads out of their backsides" and see that this religious simplification of this conflict hasn't addressed it for over a decade now that it has been reoccurring, isn't it time to do a complex root cause analysis?

Your mentioning of Muslims siding with fulani attackers is exactly what am explaining above. These vilage cleansing attacks have been reported in Sokoto, Zamfara, Niger, Katsina etc most times on Muslim villages. In those areas above the narrative pushed is Hausa v Fulani. Cant you see that the sponsors of these attacks careless the religious leanings of their victims. Even though these areas might have complicated history of interactions between locals due to tribe or religion, this fact is being exploited rather than being the cause.

You guys need to think beyond social media and solve your problems
I pointed out above that the military was culprit IMO. But a vessel was used. The vessel has always been people engaging in religious wars and people who boldly claim they will repay one death of theirs with multiple killings and destructions. This doesn't mean Fulani people are involved. But they choose sides quickly if one of theirs fall during crime and are not willing to expose one of their own.

Jos should be boiling by now after the news of what transpired in Mangu but everyone is going about their business. No military, no curfew. So Mangu was a deliberate act. The governor exposed them to the president. They are not happy with that. They are trying to make sure it is a religious fight and they have succeeded. The only solution is for the two aggrieved religion to join hand and expose the sponsors. But this may never happen so the alternative is for government to provide work for people to keep them comfortable. You can not coerce a comfortable man into crime.

I have scoured the Internet on this mangu crisis and have found four videos trending targeting different audiences.

1. The video alleging a church being burnt

2. A man standing claiming to be CAN local chairman dishing out divisive rhetoric saying it is a Muslim Christian war and security is aiding Muslims to destroy Christian lives and property

3. A video of a mob streaming down a hill and a hausa voice claiming they are Christian youths chasing Muslims

4. A video of burning houses and security vehicles and a voice asking for prayers for Muslims over there and claiming security is aiding the Christian youths in destroying Muslim lives and property

All these conveniently targeting different groups to incite them against each other and divert the conversation which just some weeks ago was on mining as a source of insecurity to discussion of religious crisis

If you guys don't sense something fishy here and how sentiments are being stired up, then we are in for a serious trouble.

The targets of these videos are the local gullible and credulous population of unemployed Muslim and Christian youths who would share these videos to each other and turn on each other

I hope this gets to front page
Mangu case is not an issue of illegal miners. It is the effect of chosing sides. The Muslims chose side when murderous Fulani militia was intercepted in Mangu resulting to the death of some of them. They will always chose sides and make it a religious thing instead of exposing the culprit.
As for the military being behind the Muslim killers, I have something to say.

The military has always been a tool used by the then governor Simon Lalong.

I still remember what they did to me, PDP EXCOs, the governor and even police DPO when they were to conduct the congress in Mangu. THE PDP OWE ME FOR MY TRAVAILS IN THE ARMS OF THE SECTOR 8 SOLDIERS.

The Mangu saga was deliberate and created for the military to benefit from the crisis. Mangu has mixed religion like the Yoruba people. In a family, you would see Muslims and Christians and they would not contemplate fighting themselves.
So if you doubt military supervision of the killings, you are only being sentimental.

I do not see reason why any one will drive vehicle with plate number of totally different vehicle if not for fraudulent purpose.

He told me our son will need to come over there to finish the process of his citizenship. But when I went to submit the "application" what I saw on it is different from what he told me. The paper read that I am consenting to my son to go and reunite with his father. Or is that the way they process it?
Please those that have gone through same should please come to my aid, this is my only child and I can't afford to lose my child this way.
If he is comfortable and Married, your concern should be what he wants with the boy. If his intentions are genuine, you should not hold the boy back. If he is of age you can ask of his opinion. Don't be afraid if you have not told the boy his father is evil.

The NSA briefs the president and offer ideas on how to go about national challenges and not just FCT. the NSA doesn't command the Armed forces. The NSA is administrative just like Wike.
