That's what someone told me in 2010 and I laughed at him and ridiculed him now I'm seeing it with my korokoro eyes.

Hmn, I can feel you but each region will still have its internal structures that can continue to evolve. Under the current system, I feel we will be creating more problems than solving them.
Lets understand a few of the reasons for agitations:
Economic, ethnic, cultural and even spiritual dominance are a few reasons. Creating more states to solving these problems is like picking up every beautiful dress out there, if you wear more than one at a time your admirers will begin to sense something is beginning to go wrong upstairs.
Regions can divide themselves into counties or even on township basis and have Mayors from their kinsmen and everyone can be a part of governance

Nice perspective. About creating more States I believe if the conditions are tight (which would be difficult in Nigeria due to sentiments) many states will merge due to non viability few will split.

I like your perspective Sha, the idea is to build a society where every Nigerian will not be oppressed/dominated but will have a fair opportunity to achieve his/aspirations and practice his customs and faith. Same goes for each ethnic group. What we fear most is domination by the big 3.

Region too will still make us lazy. Let it be individual state, leave ethnicity.rivers state is rivers state calabar is calabar .

You're right. There is a reason many communities agitated for States of their own. You can't just lump them back together into regions as they'll face the problems they ran way from in the first place.

I think 36 States are just good. Everyone stays in charge of their resources and pays the Federal government tax. With time those that can't cope will negotiate with neighboring States to merge. Those that can survive will stand.

For States that want to breakup Maybe minimum requirements must be met for new state creation. Like say they must have potential to generate sat 30 billion in revenue. Must have population of say at least 800k etc.

Wait, there are three pastors in the picture and see what is the bone of contention. Cold subliminal messages flying up and down. Bakare should please avoid using his pulpit for political discourse. May God save his church.

Dino Dino Bambino grin

He's not going anywhere. Not his fan but if I were a betting man my money would be on his head. Look at the people he's beefing, Sen Smart and Gov Bello, both of them are not as Street as Dino. Dino that was fighting right from his days in the House of Representatives.

This matter will drag on and before you know it it's election time and Igala people will remove Gov Bello.

Very glad mom and baby are doing well, but since mom was put under anesthesia during the birth and the birth was not "natural," does mom actually recognize that this is her baby? Animals are not like humans in that we can explain a c-section or assisted birth to a human mother, but we can't do that to an animal. I wonder if the fact of the mom being unconscious and unaware during the birth impeded the mother-baby bonding. Hopefully not.

I watched a documentary where they wanted to add an orphaned cub to a Mother bear and her cubs. The issue was, if the mother bear discovered the cub was not hers she'd kill it. So they shot her with a tranquilizer and smeared her and her cubs and the adopted cub with a scent. So that when she wakes up she'll lick all of them and give them her unique scent all over again. Making them all hers.

The experts have little hacks to these issues. Besides gorillas are quite intelligent.

Hello everyone, thanks to all the gurus for the information, encouragement and even financial supports.
It saddens me cause I got to know about this thread this year, would have done better if I knew earlier, but God knows best.
Here's my profile
Cgpa: 4.1/5
Read: Bsc Urban and regional planning
Completed NYSC last year.
Currently doing a graduate trainee at a firm in my discipline.
About to take GRE and TOEFL exams.
I've done and still doing loads of research on what schools to apply.
I'll be applying for fall 2018, for Masters in Urban studies, with a concentration in Geographic information system (GIS), or better still Msc GIS
I've narrowed my options to the following schools
University of Nebraska
University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill
Cornel University

University of Minnesota
MIT
UCLA
University of California, Berkeley
Geogia institute of Technology
Pls I need advice from gurus in the house. Choice of schools to apply will be based on good student funding and also ranking
Pls I need mentors, have tried on several occasions to pm most of you but couldn't.
Pls I need all the help and assistance I can get. I'm a genuine student with good intentions and aspirations for myself, humanity and Nigeria in particular. God bless you all.

Bro.. Studied URP too and working towards same aspirations. You have a great CGPA. I hope to learn from you and share experiences as we go on this journey.

Meanwhile my profile:
3.5/5 (not sure) BTech Urban Planning
Done with NYSC
Writing GRE/Toefl in September

Thinking of
Saint Louis University
Oklahoma University
University of Illinois Urbana Champaign
For now

And if I may suggest you can also check out planetizen's rankings of Urban Planning Graduate schools.

Please what questions will likely be asked also I don't have experience in fitness stuff, I have never been to gym centre. Please I don't want to lose this opportunity.

I think you should have some knowledge about common gym equipment, simple exercise regimen, work out sequences. Just know the basics. It'll show you know something. My take sha
Politics / Re: Opinion: What Buhari Must Do To Stabilize The Polity till 2026 and beyond by theSpark(m): 2:50pm On Jun 03, 2017
This is not sensible.
Onyocha:

Osinbanjo should resign. Buhari should pick a northerner whom he trusts and has the confidence of the north as VP. Then within days Buhari should resign whether now or towards 2019 if he's sure of not contesting. Then the northern VP becomes president and chooses Osinbanjo as his VP. Thus, life continues like nothing ever happened. The northerner can contest in 2019 and 2023 and Osinbanjo will finally replace him in 2026.
You believe that politicians keep their words?

Education / Re: We Don't Need More Lawyers/Banking, Finance Graduates In Nigeria: Nimi Princewil by theSpark(m): 10:40am On May 31, 2017
The key to solving this is to invest in more STeM courses. This will bring up more opportunities. Many people select these courses not really because they want them but because they are easy to get admission to.
Courses/Departments like Dentistry and whatnot are few and far and competition is stiff. Many highly qualified persons are not taken. So many applicants just get a course they can easily enter.

Last last it's all to get the certificates. Many people enter University knowing that they may not even get a job in the field they are studying in.
