It is no longer news that the 20th National Sports Festival is to be hosted by Edo State in the ancient city of Benin.

Recall that it was expected to hold last year but was indefinitely postponed due to the advent of covid 19.

A major venue set to accommodate the athletes from different parts of the country was the University of Benin hostels, thus mandating all students to go on a month and half compulsive vacation at the beginning of their first semester before covid added up to it.

The event has finally been fixed to hold from the 2nd to 14th of April.. This time around, the students are mandated to again vacate their hostels though it is the end of their semester and not a session thus spanning unhappiness from the students. The Students Union Government planned for a protest to resist this inconvenient evacuation of students from their hostels but this has been received as incitement of students against management thus warranting their suspension.
