Psalmistproject: What makes igbos who they are is in their blood. What do mean others will take over? Did they take the business sites by force? They paid for lands, shops, and everything they used to trade.
You think if they left others will take over? go and read history.
During civil war, they left almost all their investments in the north and West. But today, how come they are everywhere again.
A friend told me of how his state government got envious and chase them away from the state built trade center and reallocate all the spaces to the indigenes. Igbo traders went and bought a large expanse of land from a community in the state and built standard trade centers.
unfortunately the government trade center became a ghost town due to the indigenes inability to raise funds or face the rigors and exigencies involved. ie Emeka stops selling spare parts Kayode will take over it's just demand and supply it's because we buy that they sell simple no need for extensive write ups |

Jakumo: The poachers who killed this endangered elephant have been kind enough to post their photographs, while sitting on the dead animal that is 100% ILLEGAL to kill.
The Nigerian police should now use this photograph to arrest ALL the adults in that photograph and place them on trial for illegal poaching, and killing of a critically endangered ICON of African wildlife - The African Forest Elephant. The adults seen in this picture need to be locked up in jail as a matter of great urgency, so as to serve as an example that will deter other similarly inclined lunatics from aping this horrendous criminal act. the people in the pictures are not responsible it was written legibly in the write up sir ... 4th elephant illegally shot dead in2 yrs. #Nigerias few elephants - c400- fast disappearing. (Elephant shot by local hunter- those in pic not responsible). try to read before posting |

gidgiddy: You people love peddling falsehood. The thread was not about if Ironsi changed Nigeria from a federation to a Republic. It was about if it was Ironsi that abolished Regionalism and introduced unitary rule. Republic simply means that people are now self governing. I asked two questions
1. How is it possible that Ironsi abolished Regionalism when all 4 Regions he met when he cane to power were still existing the day he died?
2. How is it possible that Ironsi introduced unitary rule when the four Regions not only existed, but had resource control and fiscal federalism?
Decree 34 only standardised and unified the civil service. The decree neither abolished the Regions nor introduced unitary rule you are still revising?? even your brothers have deserted you go and lie no more |

OfoIgbo: The Aburi meeting did not last for 2, 3,4 months. It lasted for a few days. Yorubas, Hausas, Fulanis and other Nigerians had 2,3,4 months to adopt confederation, what did they do? They went and started creating new states that was not agreed on, in Aburi.
Today 100s of months down the line, they still haven't adopted confederation. Ojukwu restructured Nigeria fairly, but other Nigerians have kept Nigeria skewed. patience is always best if you had patience and did underground work it would have worked but you prefer ""bravery"" Ojukwu had alternate/ulterior motives that I am sure of |

Look at the situation in the country now, u can't protest peacefully again, no more freedom of speech. Let's not even talk about the economy bcs that one is suicidal. I saw a thread trying to revise history https://www.nairaland.com/6534250/aguiyi-ironsi-did-not-dissolve-regionalism/that is a malicious attempt to revise history and we the reasonable Nairalanders won't take such Decree Number 34 of May 24, 1966, promulgated by Ironsi caused massive unrest in the Northern part of the country as the Northerners had gone against delimiting of regional powers as far back as 1959.The decree made the centre strong, thereby abolishing the powers granted to the regions. In June 1966, Ironsi began a tour of the country (never to return to Lagos) and met with the Northern elite, assuring them of a united Nigeria. thehistoryville.com/ But, Ironsi was in a hurry to make an impression. In his May broadcast, he declared: “Nigeria shall on the 24th May, 1966 cease to be a federation and shall accordingly as from that day be a republic by the name of the Republic of Nigeria, consisting of the whole territory, which immediately before that day was comprised in a federation.” As federalism was abolished, the regions ceased to exist. From their ashes sprang up a group of territorial areas called provinces. Each region became a group of provinces, with a National Military Government at the centre. The late Head of State had also proposed a new economic plan, but it never saw the light of day....thenationonlineng.comAccording to Ndayo Uko, the Decree no.2 was to serve "as a kind gesture to the press" to safeguard himself when he went on later to promulgate the Defamatory and Offensive Decree No.44 of 1966 which made it an "offense to display or pass on pictorial representation, sing songs, or play instruments the words of which are likely to provoke any section of the country." He also as per the proposals of a single man committee passed the controversial Unification Decree No. 34 aimed to unify Nigeria into a unitary state..... wikipedia.com |

Idiko1: You hit a wrong wave on the side of Biafra. The following countries did not support Biafra: France, China, West Germany, Republic of South Africa, Rhodesia ( was not a country), Czechoslovakia, Spain, Portugal and Israel (was fighting war against Arab countries for its survival) in 1967. Zambia (which was independent country and formerly Northern Rhodesia) recognized Biafra so did Haiti, Ivory Coast, Tanzania and Gabon. Please be mindful that recognition does not equal military support.
West Germany supplied all G3 assault rifles and Mercedes Benz trucks used by Nigerian army. All the Ak-47 used by Nigerian army was variant of Chinese made Ak-47. Austria supplied Nigeria army with Steyr trucks. Government of France, Portugal, Spain and Czechoslovakia did not support Biafra in any form because British lobbied them to stay away from the internal conflict in its former territory. However individual groups and persons from the aforementioned countries helped Biafra and some paid the ultimate prize. The greatest supplier of arms and ammunitions to Biafra was Federal Republic of Nigeria. you are a liar sir a crazy revisionist |

Psalmistproject: Yes igbos doesn't need the government for infrastructure or economic development.
Remove or pull down every investment established by igbos across the federation what will be left is majorly desert.
That's why they say igbos doesn't have a king. They believe in their individual uniqueness and equality which is democracy.
How come years after the civil war they are back to developing places around the world?
Learn from them the joke is on you they develop the world but fail to develop ala Igbo? remove Igbo businesses and others will take over simple. |
