The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in Oyo State, has suffered a great split as the party is currently holding two separate state congresses in Ibadan, the state capital. One of the factions is loyal to the state Governor Abiola Ajimob while the second faction is known as “Unity Forum.” The faction loyal to the state governor is holding it congress in Adamasingba Sports Complex in Ibadan. The second faction, Unity Forum is holding its congress at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Liberty road, Oke-Ado, also in Ibadan the state capital. Reports reaching our desk indicates that factional members of the APC are currently protesting in front of the Port Harcourt High Court, Rivers State prompting officials to shut down the Court to prevent breakdown of Law and Order. Reason for the protest is still sketchy but this may not be unconnected with a ruling by the Court today on an interim Order to stop or otherwise the APC State Congress from holding this weekend...!!!! More details shortly as our team is currently heading to the Court for pictures and more...!! |

Flowrymz: I thought Politics is about interest, personal or collective..? Meanwhile, the NWC of APC should allow the Appeal Panel setup to look into circumstances surrounding the conduct of Ward Congresses to do their work and not meddle into state party affairs...!!! Those men should approach the Court to halt another conduct of Ward Congress in Imo State when the panel set up is yet to conclude its sitting...!!! 1 Like |

The lawmaker representing Rivers South East district in the National Assembly, Senator Magnus Abe, says there is no ward congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 344 wards of the 23 local government areas in Rivers State. In a statement by his spokesperson Parry Benson on Saturday in Port Harcourt, Senator Abe declared that there was no stakeholders’ meeting before the scheduled congress as promised by the leadership of the party in the state. Abe, an APC governorship aspirant in the 2019 general elections, accused the leadership of the party in the state of going against the guidelines of the ward congress by allowing contestants to pick forms on the day of the congress. He said, “The leadership of APC in Rivers State countered itself by issuing two statements today, Saturday, May 5, 2018, where it urged contestants to pick forms for the ward congress. “The development is against the guidelines of the party’s congresses which said the purchase of nomination forms should end 24 hours before the commencement of the congress.” The lawmaker further described the development as a fight against internal democracy in the APC and called on the national leadership of the party to intervene in the matter. Who Else has Noticed Several Night Drones in Port Harcourt ahead of APC Congress? Spotted several drones tonight in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital ahead of tomorrow's APC WARD Congresses. Some of the drones are as though very close to reach...!!! Recall that the roads leading to the APC State Secretariat were barricaded by NPF due to security threats and massive protest by factions of APC faithfuls...!! |
