Politics / May 1, 2018 Workers Day, President @MBuhari MAY Address Nigerian Youths Laziness by TheTrueSeeker: 7:34pm On Apr 22, 2018 |
May 1, is marked as Worker's Day or Labour Day in many parts of the world and here in Nigeria, Worker's Day this year, 2018 President @MBuhari MAY be set to address workers across the nation and the Nigerian Youths especially over his recent comment at the Common Wealth Business Forum in Westminster on April 18, 2018 where he reportedly said: “the current population of Nigeria is 180m and out of which 60% are below the age of 30 and they are lazy, uneducated, and don’t like to do any work because they believe their country is an oil-rich nation, thus always wanting free oil money” The Hon Minister of the Interior is set the declare a public holiday in commemoration of the day and MAY be urging all youths to make sure they are glued to the official Twitter accounts as Mr. President MAY likely address the controversial statement and put to rest the backlash they have all received ever since the comment was made....!!! |

Politics / Re: #LazyNigerianYouths: Buhari's Faulty Statistic and Failure Of Leadership...!!! by TheTrueSeeker: 12:03pm On Apr 21, 2018 |
Recently, the Statistician General of the Federation/CEO, NBS; Dr Yemi Kale, at the DUBAWA Launch, Yar Adua Center Abuja delivered a lecture which he titled ‘GoodNews, Fake News and Statistics’ where he said and I quote “Accordingly, an increasing trend which DUBAWA will have to contend with is with respect to those that deliberately try to misinform by taking the true data but twisting its meaning to give a false conclusion. Such misuse of data can also not be ignored. Some misuse statistics because they are neither willing nor prepared to face the reality and truth exposed by data. This is not a problem of statistics, but rather a problem of the ill-motive of the users of the data. Just as a knife can be utilized to save lives if it is used by a surgeon, it could very well be a harmful instrument in the hands of a criminal. Thus, statistics are ‘innocent’, and, hence do not deserve any wrong labelling. Blames must go instead, to the ones who abuse or misuse it, particularly those who do so knowingly or selectively" |
Politics / #LazyNigerianYouths: Buhari's Faulty Statistic and Failure Of Leadership...!!! by TheTrueSeeker: 12:00pm On Apr 21, 2018 |
President @MBuhari Speaking at the Common Wealth Business Forum in Westminster on April 18, 2018 reportedly said: “the current population of Nigeria is 180m and out of which 60% are below the age of 30 and they are lazy, uneducated, and don’t like to do any work because they believe their country is an oil-rich nation, thus always wanting free oil money” Firstly, 60% of 180m = 108m Remaining 40% of 180m = 72m So President @MBuhari is directly or indirectly implying that about 108m Nigerians are uneducated, lazy and therefore expecting free-bees. That’s a huge population to be given such rating. But looking at the statistics from the National Bureau of Statistic’s website http://nigerianstat.gov.ng/ It is easier to see how erroneous and faulty President @MBuhari may have been, judging by available data on youth population, unemployment rate and the major cause of unemployment rate especially in the Q3 of 2017. |

Politics / Throw Back 2015: When Buhari Called Nigerians 'Unruly' by TheTrueSeeker: 12:14pm On Apr 20, 2018 |
Recall that on October 1, 2015, Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari in his independence day broadcast called Nigerians unruly people who do not like to obey rules and regulations. He went further to say progress could not happen without a change in citizens’ attitudes. The BBC and other international media immediately started raising fundamental questions about the comments of President Buhari on that occasion. "We need between $36 billion and $40 billion. Only God knows where we are going to get it. But I like to apply what I did as Rivers State governor. Abandoned Rivers Monorail project comes to mind From the picture below partly displaying the abandoned Rivers Monorail project, those protesters had walked for 10min past the end of the monorail project and would walk for just 15 mins to get to the beginning making a total of 25 mins walk for a project that had gulped over N50b of TAX payer's money.
