PCAID:I just read the article, it's insane. Even here on this AE thread, people have mentioned how they effected refund and still kept the item instead when duly supposed to return it. I think Union54 was Barter's partner for their cards. I'm still searching for an option to use. I've found Grey & Bitnob (*I no ready to open another CEX account) |
C2929:In as much as Gotok are shutting down soon. I just used my card & remaining balance to buy an item this morning and it went fine. |
lexrichy:This Nigeria is just designed for suffering. Like, everything was okay some 2 days ago.... now, just like that, POOF! gone! Omo, abeg who knows any other virtual card services that allow topup/funding with crypto? All I know is: all the major CEXes have cards, but our yeye region is never supported. Any other options? |
Omo... Gotok is going. Na wa oo |
Macmilla:The headache area is you deactivated the card. For refunds, I've received any/all refunds I've ever done. Used to take something of like 7 days or more P.S: It's not a Klasha card I use. So I can't fully say how they operate regarding refunds. But from AliExpress' end, they truly send your refunds and notify you sef |
Seatreasure2:Just wait. It's still in the process. The email you should check to see is one that says something like: "we are pleased to *******. Your parcel is ready for pickup at our office [*****]" .... this or home delivery (you'll receive a call in this case) |
Seatreasure2:What is your location? Did you receive an email that your package is ready for pickup? Because Speedaf will 100% notify you via email |
eteebanky1:If unified somehow, and Banks are not ready to sell USD to regular people like you & me, the demand will still shift back to the open/black market... and consequently, the black market rate will increase massively. Me I just know say, if e reach ₦900 per USD again, I go sell a reasonable handful of USD. |
mosho2good:Gotok (fund via BinancePay). Essentially meaning, the USDT you buy at Binance p2p first is sold/bought at fair black market rates compared to a lot of fintech apps out there. For comparison even still within the same Gotok, the difference between funding via Bank Transfer & via BinancePay is huge (in rates) |
jetoraphy:There is a 1% fee and ALWAYS has been. DYOR & check things yourself |
Sonrexx:If the app is not available for you on PlayStore, change the region/location of your account in PlayStore to US and use a VPN. If you manage to download and install the app, you can use it anywhere to spend. The funding source in this case will have to always be by crypto (Binance Pay or Solana wallet direct)... You may not be able to withdraw to bank |
SUPERPACK:In my own opinion, Nipost are not as bad as most people say. Some of the hate they receive is in many cases, unwarranted. For Nipost here in a state in SS, their office is in a central part of the town — though old and without digital technology. You wouldn't get periodical notifications/emails after your item lands 9ja. The best guide is then the deadline for delivery of which AliExpress states up to 60 - 75 days most times. Thus, you'll watch that timer and before it goes down fully to 1 day, you should have received a call for your item within the timeframe. Now, off to Speedaf, they're good... like really good. There is no way on AliExpress to explicitly choose Speedaf, but your best bet is to at least buy an item with Shipping fee attached (eg. AliExpress Standard Shipping). So, the item you really want/need has free shipping, you can order another item (maybe small) with AliExpress Standard Shipping at the same item.... Most likely, after it gets to 9ja and for delivery, they'll parcel them together and deliver to you |
Ifeanyi4491:Ordered. Came in like last week through Speedaf to my house. But then, all my packages come through Speedaf on a normal... so might be different for most other people. |
Mcslize:I can't help with your enquiry. But I just looked and there's only one shipping method.... Anyway, this doesn't look like a good deal to me, because by the time you add the shipping fee to the item's price shown, you end up at $500 ... if you're in Nigeria, that's about ₦366k+ (factor in different rates). For much less, you can get better gaming monitors on Jumia. If you're not in Nigeria and your shipping fee is considerably less, then the price may be worth it

icon91:See robbery nau. |
Olamak1:If they remove BinancePay, I'll start looking somewhere else. They should better stick to their choice and cater to seemingly 2 classes of users — they ones that understand basic crypto & they ones that do not. Because, I see no reason why they wouldn't choose to adapt to p2p rates on Binance at once since they've had that funding method already |
BannedUser:Just updated and saw the feature. Good initiative from them, but they decided to join bad gang. The difference between funding the card & withdrawing is insane! Through BinancePay is still the cheapest way to fund. For someone like me, I only fund cards with the amount I know I want to spend (no withdrawing/converting back to Naira).
|
Meister:Unless there's been a new update to the app. So far, the feature was added but in Beta and is not yet widely available. I wouldn't use that method shaa, when p2p or crypto sef would be a bit cheaper |
Uchepele:They exist. For me though, virtually all my orders comes through Speedaf, straight delivery to my house. This has been the norm for like 10+ items I've ordered in the last 3months. (*Gold member on AliExpress though) |
ewizard1:Open Google map. Search "Speedaf". I don't stay in Lagos, but for my location their office shows when I search (+ rotational 3D image for me to see how the street/area looks like) |
abhosts:Omo sorry. Drag them on Twitter with screenshot evidences etc, and your money will come out. That amount is not small in this economy. |
amstamon:Generally, most cards will work if the item you want to buy is quotable/sold in the currency of the card (ie. you can use a USD card to buy from a store which sells things in USD) |
Payday are just suffering a side effect of aggressive marketing. They came up too fast without proper planning — just Twitter ads, paying influencers to market them. I first found them on exactly 3rd January 2023, with a job opening they posted (customer service/support)... I applied that very day. Till today, no response at all whether positive or negative. On that 3rd January, they had less than 5k followers on Twitter (not exaggerating). Less than 5k.... and within 3 months, they have 53k+ followers. In February & March, tbh I was seeing Payday ads like water everywhere, after 5 tweets on my TL ... Payday ad. Till I had to block them permanently because I wasn't using their service at all. If they are serious, they'll funnel their marketing money for promoted tweets to also include tweets that warn their users. ....... anyway, no need to derail this thread further. I'm off to AliExpress to scroll and look for things to buy that I don't need Lol |
noobody:👍 |
Phishing scams have existed for ages. Each user is responsible for their security first. Payday or any other service can only do so much in their capacity. Best they can do is report such accounts, block them (of which they scammers can keep opening new ones), report the account to Twitter, implore their users/followers to report those accounts too and alert their community on which account is actually theirs. No matter how you do it, phishing scams will always be there (ask Metamask, Trust wallet users... they know the drill). Reddit, Facebook, Discord etc are no different — phishing scams are there. It's up to Twitter themselves to take active stance in combating fake/bot/duplicate accounts. |
noobody:So invariably, they'll sabotage their service to give time for scamming ?? That's preposterous IMO. Even if that were to be the case, in all things, the moment you give out your details (username, pin, password, click a link on your own accord), then it becomes 100% your fault (sorry if it sounds harsh). If you didn't do these and money just left, then that's where one can tag it "fraudulent/scam". |
sleemoon:Your second paragraph says it all. A lot of times when you hear "XXXX is a scam/fraud... my money was stolen", the person saying this omits the error they themselves made on their part. Everyone is responsible as a firstline for their own security. If you mess up (ie. share your details, click a phishing link) all because the profile information of the account that messaged you has the same image, bio or plausible info, then you're fully to blame. I've seen this occur way too much. No genuine app/support will write to you and request account details or ask you to click a link. (*one look at a URL and I can immediately tell it's a scam). If you need help, write through official channel inside their app and exercise patience. It's this patience part that kills a lot of people. Not me shaa, never been scammed and can never be scammed. |
I've not had any issues with Nipost myself, apart from their "under the table" behaviour which their staff exhibit (ie. asking for small payment). In all the cases, I'd get a call from them when my item is ready for pickup and I'll arrange a day & time I'll come to get it. They are not so bad as a lot of people paint them |
Mofetemi:Check their Twitter. A new update will be rolled out that'll permit funding your card with naira/bank transfer (*rate for this will follow more closely with other fintech apps for sure). Personally, I'll still use the Binance Pay method, as I can deposit Naira to Binance at p2p rates. |
morikee:If you're mentioning Ledger hardware wallet, it basically means you know your way around crypto. Thus, use Gotok... it's basically the best of all. How to? - Download Gotok app & verify your account (after verification, you may kindly use my Ref code: 5632919900 if you wish ![]() - Have any crypto in your Binance spot account OR Solana wallet (a non-custodial one) - Go to Binance app and setup everything that has to do with Binance Pay - Come back to Gotok and choose funding source "Binance Pay". Input the amount and it'll automatically redirect you to Binance to verify the transaction. That's all. If you don't have any crypto on Binance and you want to use Naira, deposit Naira to your Binance account via P2P first (**the p2p rate on Binance is fairer than what Chipper, Klasha or any other fintech app will offer you). After using Gotok, come back here and give testimony Lol |
IMAliyu:With Gotok, it can be any crypto. Just hold the crypto in your spot account on Binance. I've funded with busd, usdt, btc, zen, zec, matic etc. The conversion back to busd is done automatically irrespective of which crypto you have. |
