I'm not referring to 80s or 90s vs now. Small EPL teams in the 2000s already had lots of money even more than some big teams in other top leagues.

It's a matter of coaching. The Villa team I referenced had John Carew, prime Ashley Young, Lilian Petrov, Stephen Ireland, Stewart Downing who were quite good or at least decent players. If they were coached today, they'd play at a much higher level.

You have a point but the difference is that then, only the big teams with the best players could play possession based football.

Now, mid-tier teams with average players are able to play possession based football and do the high press and this is where Pep's influence trumps that of Cryuff and co.

Previously only the best teams in each league played great football. The mid table teams were mostly pragmatic.

I agree 150%. He singlehandedly revolutionized football from the 2010s till date.

I realized the extent of Pep's influence when yesterday I was watching a classic match between Aston villa and Newcastle from 2010/2011 season.

The kick and follow football then was almost unrecognizable to me. I was like how could one stomach this way of playing for 30 minutes let alone 90.

The turnover of possession between both teams was uncountable. A Villa vs Newcsatle match today is a blockbuster; 14 years ago it was a borefest. This is all due to Pep's influence.

This is not the issue of reference.

Problem was that there was no percentage behind the 0.005 number in the initial Act which led to ambiguity.

The levy is 0.005 without the act adding %. There is no where in the act where the levy was said to be 0.5%. If the law say 0.005 is the levy, it should not be misinterpreted to mean 0.5%. The only reasonable interpretation is 0.005%.

This creates a lacuna that gives room for lots of legal wrangling.
