Villa almost put no wrong foot at Barca

So Villa Na small game player cheesy

People Dey sha

Ask yourself how long did villa spent at Barca ,he even spent a long time being injured but he really impressed everyone

Na only you know Wetin you Dey talk
Bro, this argument is unnecessary.

Villa's best season for Barca, he scored 23 goals in all competitions. Even an old Henry Thierry scored 27goals in a season for Barca before we even talk about Eto'o or Suarez impressive numbers.

In three seasons, Villa scored 48 goals in 119 games for Barca. That definitely wasnt good enough for a striker that came to Barca with reputation of being better than Ibrahimovic, Eto, Torres, Drogba bar Cristiano.

Compare to when Villa in Valencia scored 28 goals in a single La Liga season beating Eto'o to pichichi and was highest goal scorer at WC 2010. The general perception was that he did not live up to expectation in Barca.

I agree though that Villa was not a small game player. My bad if my previous comment made it look like that. What I really meant was that Eto and Suarez made more impact in big games than Villa during their Barca years.

Villa wasn't done in whilst playing for Barcelona please. He was an absolute beast
Not denying he was still very good for Barca especially in his first season. But only saying his hottest years were between 2006 - 2010 for Valencia and Spain.

I remember that he came to Barca with reputation of hottest striker in the world but even after first season there were some complaints about him not fully living up to expectation.

Eto’o did well in Barca and inter colors and scored plenty of goals. I respect him a lot. David villa was a torn in the flesh for both Barca and Madrid while playing for Valencia. He’s the only No.9 aside Suarez to av form a good partnership with Messi. His only undoing was that injury he got during the club World Cup. Man was made Spain top 9 while playing for Valencia (not Madrid, not barca). Dude is Spain all time top scorer. I prefer Villa ooo
The thing is Villa's prime was actually at Valencia and for Spanish national team from 2006 - 2010. The Barca version of Villa was already on decline.

Eto and Suarez were big game players. Both scored regularly against Madrid, Atletico & Valencia . I think Villa only scored a single goal against Madrid while with Barca and in the UCL final.

Start one, Bench one, Sell one.

All in their prime, what's y'all choice?
Suarez prime - 58 goals, Eto's prime - 37goals - D.Villa's prime with Barca - 23 goals

Technical prowess - Suarez > Etoo > Villa

Dribble and explosiveness - Etoo > Suarez>Villa

Overall, it's a no brainer - Start prime Suarez, bench Eto'o and sell David f*cking Villa!

I think Greizmann or Lenglet has to be the most criticized player on here in recent memory, I mean Lenglet was even physically attacked by fans. But the most ridiculed has to be Luuk de Jong who funnily has turned the negative perception around.

Bumtiti, Pique and even Valdes were regular objects of criticism with Barca.

Any player that fans have expectations on will be criticized if performance falls below expectation. It the way of football.

So Ferran should steel up and deliver on goals as expected.

Mbappe is overrated. He is within the top 100 players, but for sure not top 10. maybe one day, but now he is just a kid and gets easily overwhelmed by a big game
This is a joke right? You re talking about the current world best player on form, and soon to be on a permanent basis.

Definitely the redpill.

If I am time-travelled back to age 10 with all the knowledge I have now, I definitely get more than the 50million USD at age 45. For example, I only need to bet that Germany was going to beat Brazil 7 -1 at 2014 World cup against all odds and gbam over 40million USD don enter.

Knowledge of several fields will enable one to be a pioneer beneficiary in those areas with the prior knowledge one has.

This particular redpill is the life. Downside is that it can also change ones destiny for worse e.g you are more successful at an earlier age and you then take a flight that would eventually crash if you did not have prior knowledge of that flight.

1. Messi touched the ball many times more than Mbappe, he had more passes than Mbappe and he was involved in the build up play more than Mbappe. So it is quite idiotic to be talking about who carried who.

2. If Mbappe had converted Messi's 2 perfect through balls in the first half, then Messi would have had a glorious assist tonight.

3. Nothing wrong if Mbappe 'carries' Messi this season. Mbappe has been in PSG for 5 years. Messi has been in PSG for 6 months.

4. It is very normal for Mbappe to be the one getting the goals for PSG. Messi's heatmap is 80 percent in midfiled, Mbappe's heatmap is 80 percent upfront.

Use your brain boy!
GBAM! The lame-thinking CR fans think Messi, a seven-time Ballon dor winner is in competition with Mbappe who is just beginning to chart his own course.

That's even another point. Bruno is a better penalty taker than CR statistically, yet in big moments, it's CR that 'll take it.

Messi Playing well against the Madrid team I watched tonight is absolutely nothing to hype about.........infact him not scoring just a single goal against the lackluster Madrid side tonight is a big shame, despite been surrounded by top notch football stars.

Well dat's not a surprise to me, afterall is not like he has been scoring against the aboki clubs in Ligue 1 grin grin

But i just need to put it to you dat you're d one grasping straw here
Unfortunately, your point is no point, hence you re the one clutching straws.

PSG including Messi made Madrid lackluster. That he did not score against Madrid is not a crime and not a demotion, afterall, why didnt Benzema, the supposed best La Liga player and one of the best 5 strikers now, not score too?

You're one of those Olodo football fans.

Neymar has an excellent penalty technique and better conversion rate than Messi.

You obviously don't watch Neymar play.

He's the best penalty taker on that team
Be guided in your comments please.

Yes Neymar is a better penalty taker than Messi (that was a genuine mistake from my part), but he just returned from a long lay off and has also missed several penalties in his career. You wouldnt expect them to give him penalty duties straight away from injury comeback.

No any player cannot just play well against Madrid.

Several times this season CR has not played well when he doesnt score. Playing well is not a given if you know anything about football.

Messi played well, Mbappe showed magic and PSG won. Nothing out of place in all of that.

That Madrid today that was very poor and lucky it was only a one-nil win.

Where dem wan see win come from?

Yes, Messi did bad missing the penalty (he isnt an outstanding penalty taker anyway), but he played quite well in other times of the match, and we cannot reduce his impact on the field to only a penalty miss.

Well deserved win by PSG.
Mbappe and Neymars penalty record are worse than Messi's. Basically PSG has no excellent penalty taker.

Btw Mbappe is currently the best player in the world, and has genuinely taken over Messi and Ronaldo's hegemony. Great goal from a super player!

There's an ongoing debate on Facebook about whether we should train Adama to be a full-back since his finishing is poor or whether the team's gaffer should work on his weakness and improve him as a winger.

What do y'all think, guys?
He's better as a winger biko, it would be criminal to waste that searing pace in a defensive role. I know you'd probably talk about the Canadian leftback for Bayern, but Bayern can afford him as a left back cos they already have other speedsters occupying the left wing role.

Adama has a reputation of poor finishing, yet his end product is miles ahead of Dembouz, what does that tell us about Dembele's quality?

Who wants to buy Dembelehuh Please come fast!!! angry
It's so frustrating that Dembele is just all huff and puff with no real substance. Look at how effective Adama's crosses were. Dembele can cross 100 times with no end product. Good riddance to him.

The bolded is a fact most of his olodos fans have either failed to acknowledge or probably ignorant of.

At the time, they were both nominated, Ronaldo(22) was 2years older than Messi(20) which shows Ronaldo had little or no exploit when he was Messi's age but his dumb fans will never applaud Messi for getting his WPOTY nomination at the age Ronaldo was struggling.

It takes a genius like Messi to get such nomination in a team that had Ronaldinho and Eto as their key players at the time.

If na to foolishly tell us Ronaldo is 37 abi 38, all of them, go rush live flies come here

Time is the great enemy of everyone. It always catches up.

Btw, I wonder how Pendulets bear to watch him on the pitch nowadays. I've just finished watching the Southampton game and I'm like is this what this guy is now reduced to? No single moment of brilliance. The only aspect he used to cover up which is goals has now dried up so his depreciation has been grossly exposed.

Messi also may not be scoring well again, but no single way he'll be without multiple world class highlights in a match which at least gives you some level of joy.

Pls no one should bring the age crap, both Messi and Ronaldo earned their first WPOTY nomination at the same time in 2007, so they both have the same time span for the world class part of their careers.

Smart Manager.

Punishment should be proportionate to crime committed. You dont cut off someone's head for verbal abuse.

I wonder who gave these animal lovers the right to cherrypick which animal to defend from abuse and which animal can be killed and eaten. Are they saying a turkey is a lesser being than a cat? Isnt that racism in itself?

The hypocrisy of condemning animal abusers but defending animal killers. David Moyes you are a sensible man!

Salah is still in his prime.

To the debate, prime Salah had better output in terms of goals and assists than prime Bale (even counting his first season for Real Madrid).

Both primes were capable of absolute magic. Bale with the long range bullets and bursting runs, Salah with the mazy solo dribbles and goals.
