obonujoker:As he come see better opponent, why he no con score? When Messi's goals dried up because he was basically operating as a midfielder in PSG, una dey criticize am. Yesterday, CR dropped deep only half the time Messi typically does, and he was completely useless whether as an AM or as a striker. Messi in all his life never put in a performance as disastrous as Ronaldo over the 2 legs against Atletico. No shot on target in 2 games? No key passes, no chances created in 180 minutes! Wetin waSIU con do for the pitch then? Of course na to Ghost as usual in UCL 2nd round. CR better go audition for Nollywood movie ghosts cos he does it better than those chalked face clowns. |
Karleb:Even your goat is a GHOST And what a JOKE of a GHOST |
I don't want that Peacock in Barca again o. Anyone with me?
|
Flopnaldo lol. The guy na just overhyped player using social media to boost his profile among his mumuyrdons. Bungled another second round UCL game yet again. 7 world best na your mate? |
Jayrockk:Oh well then. Maybe after some time, your comment can apply but for this day, Ronaldo should chop his L alone, as I dont remember people making excuses for Messi last week. |
Obembet this one doesnt cut it o. Because you're still trying to associate Messi with this serial 2nd round failure. Make a proper thread about CR's bungles. No single shot on goal or key chance created against a barely decent top side struggling in la Liga. Over 180 minutes, no goals, no shot on target, no assists, no key chances created, zero dribbles, 100 shoutings at the referee. What a disastrous performance! Messi can never be this bad against any side at all. |
Jayrockk:Like you appreciated Messi againat Madrid ba? Mstchew |
They won just one game over the weekend since several poor performances all year long yet they didnt let us hear word. Low self-esteemed br*ts. When we tell them you cannot use Tottenham to become GOAT, they were baring their fangs without brains. Now against a decent ATM side that isn't even top gear the Lizard disappeared in 180minutes. 7 ballon dors and 6 Fifa world best no be joke. Messi na GOAT. Another true big game gone, another flop performance from the old fraud. |

Obembet, I expect 80 threads on FP on how Ronaldo flopped uselessly starting from tonight ![]() |
This thread is totally unnecessary because it creates a first impression that male doctors commonly harass their female counterparts which doesnt ring true. A few bad eggs cannot be used to generalize a segment of the whole profession. Just like every other profession will have incidences of sexual harassment which is down to the individual sexual perversion. |
Comradewhy:Mr Comrade you better calm down and stop embarrassing yourself here. The reason people are bashing you left and right is because the info you asked for source on was very elementary. It's like if you Comrade tells someone "Germany is in Europe, or Buhari is the President of Nigeria" and the person then asked you what's your source. How would you feel? That's exactly how many people felt when they saw your initial comment. Yes we learn every day, but some things are better left unsaid. |
Chyjoey:Part of the signs corporate employers look out for in smart candidates is emotional intelligence. As you've said already, if there's a widespread cultural perception associating leg chain with promiscuity, why then would a candidate wear a visible leg chain to an interview? Isnt that implying to the employer that the candidate isnt emotionally aware of the local business culture and that that might rub off negatively on clients or customers? You can't go to culturally sensitive environments like China, Japan and India and be challenging them on why they aren't employing you because you are expressing your "liberality', that would be very d*mb. You have to respect and understand how things are done in wherever you find yourself to get what you want. That's a core part of being smart. |
Kingcalls:Your uncoordinated points are all over the place. How does what you put up there negate the fact that Messi has been head and shoulders above any other player ever on the pitch of play on the most occasions since global football awards began? Ronaldo may be having a better season than Messi this year, but is he heads and shoulders above or even competing with other best players who are not Messi this year. Definitely no! Another point is the best biggest teams in Europe for the past few years are Bayern, Man City, Liverpool, PSG, Madrid and Chelsea. How many of these teams has Ronaldo scored against in the past one year? Nada. And how many has Messi scored against in the past one year? 2 of them! I repeat; a hattrick against Tottenham cannot make anybody a GOAT. That is the simple truth. Again, see how ridiculous you sound trying to belittle a goal that was adjudged the best UCL goal of the group stage just because Messi is the scorer. Very childish analysis and it's a waste of time for anybody who knows his onions to try to start pointing out the abject loopholes in all what you said. Ronaldo can never match Messi's GOAT status, regardless of what Messi does or does not at PSG. If Ronaldo wants to be GOAT, he needs to better every other player (not just Messi) again for a couple of years cos it seems you have forgotten what a Ballon Dor or FWPOTY means. Fortunately the people that matter in football do not. |
Kingcalls:Awards largely determine the greatest. They are not given in isolation but based on pitch achievements. There were no global football awards during time of Maradona and Pele, only regional based awards which both players were not a part of. Global awards started in 1991 (FWPOTY). Owen, Nedved and Shevy's wins of Ballon dor in 2001, 2003 & 2004 were for European FOTY. That time, FPOTY was still the only global award for the world best and neither of the three ever ranked above Henry in the top three FWPOTY nominations from 2001 to 2006. Meaning that the only global award then ranks Henry higher than these other 3 players. Ballon dor became a global best award in 2009. Hear this loud and clear: Ronaldo De Lima lasted at the top from 1995 to 2004 and had even retired by age 34. Marco Van Basten spent less than 10 years at the top and had retired by 28. Yet, both are considered widely greater than Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is still playing top football for a top club at 40 years old. Ibrahimovic has more goals than both but doesnt hold a candle to both. How is Messi only influential for 13 years? So he inspiring Argentina to win Copa 2021 as highest scorer and best tournament player is not influential abi? Let alone winning spanish pichichi for 2019 and 2020. You just throw around words that you dont even understand the meaning of. Both Messi and Ronaldo have been influential for the past 16 years. Tell me when was the last truly big game Ronaldo performed well? That would be since his Juve days. Where was he against Liverpool, Mancity and Chelsea? Or were you not aware of Messi's exploits against Man city? Scored them in the first leg and created the opportunity for Mbappe's goal in the second leg. Tottenham, Arsenal, Atalanta and Villarreal are decent teams in the same class with Leipzig, Lille, Sevilla, Valencia all of whom Messi also performed well against within the past one year. To top that, Messi's performance against PSG and Mancity trumps any other performance by CR against the biggest teams in the last one year. So what are you saying? I have dismantled all your faulty assertions masked as truth. Being GOAT is an innate and a permanent thing. Not something conferred by an average Tottenham side or passing Josef Bican who wasnt even a top 10 best ever. Being the GOAT is to be Lionel Messi. |
. |
Dont doubt Ronaldo, yes. But not doubting him will never make him the Goat. He cannot be GOAT simply because he is the games highest goalscorer or because he scored a hatrick against a 7th place team at 37. Was Josef Bican considered the GOAT when he was highest scorer ever over Pele? Was Quadriagella the GOAT when at 37 years old, he scored a whopping 36 goals in Serie A to win the golden boot over a 34 year old Cristiano? You cannot be lizard material 2 months ago and Goat material today. Being the best isnt a yo-yo matter. Anyday anytime, a player with the highest amount of Ballon dors and fifa world best awards will always be regarded greater than another with highest number of hattricks and goals. Only football dunces will think otherwise. Sorry, but Tottenham can never make you a Goat. Same way it wasn't Sevilla or Real Sociedad that made Messi the GOAT. |
FirstbornWds:The boy get some sense. |
Treasure17:GOAT in your dreams. So because he scored a hatrick against a 7th place team at 37, he's calling himself GOAT. Was Josef Bican the GOAT all these while when he was the highest goalscorer ever at 805goals? Any day anytime, a player with the highest number of Ballon dor and FIfa best awards will always be regarded greater than a player with most hatricks and goals. Only Hollywood football ignorami will think otherwise. Ronaldo can never match Messi's GOAT status, regardless of what Messi does or does not at PSG. If Ronaldo wants to be GOAT, he needs to be heads and shoulder above every other player (not just Messi) again for a couple of years cos it seems Pendu fans have forgotten what a Ballon Dor or FWPOTY means. Fortunately the people that matter in football have not. Messi is football's Tom Brady.

Dembele has been unplayable tonight. Yes it may be Osasuna, but it's a good omen for his consistency. I'm missing FDJ's driving runs in midfield though. |
I can only imagine - Mercy Me That's the most successful/popular Christian song of all time. I like it cos it's so inspiring. |
It's not from today that awards started to change format. FIFA WPOTY changed its format in 2005/2006, in 2010 and in 2016. It did not detract anything from all those who won the award during these periods. Ballon d'or might be changing its format just to appear sensitive to the cries of all these pseudo-Lewy supporters, but the changes can never belittle Messi's 7th Ballon dor win. Why? Messi won based on the criteria the Ballon D'or had set all these years. It's been the same criteria that has been in force since on the basis of which Modric, Cristiano & even Kaka had won the award. If you think changing the rules now affects Messi's win, then it also affects Cristiano, Modric & Kaka's wins. Lewy & Jorginho all had same opportunity to win under this same criteria, but they didnt cos Messi was better overall on that basis. Good that the award is evolving in line with the social media age but it's for a going forward basis and cannot taint the past. Ballon D'or remains the most prestigious award a footballer can aspire to win. |
pocohantas:Some things about human social system are a permanent feature. In every society, there will always be the unfortunate, the ones just there that are neither lucky or unlucky, and the few ones that are extremely fortunate. The unfortunate ones will always make the news. It's the Circle of Life. |
Mercychen:See, I agree with your comment about the physical abuse issue. Only thing I wonder about is where did you keep this same energy and opinion when it was about the Australian lady that burnt her ex-Nigerian husband to death. Many of you ladies were making excuses for the Lady on that thread or even outright blaming of the unfortunate guy. |
pocohantas:Lol, you and these your subtle jabs. |
paulolee:I disagree. Henry's official speed record is faster than Mbappe's. With the ball at feet, Kaka and Messi are pretty fast. |
Henry was the fastest of the lot. He holds the official record for the fastest sprint at 39.2km/h at France 98. Mbappe's fastest recorded sprint is 37.8 km/h against Argentina I would rank them as follows in their prime: Henry Mbappe Bale/CR7 Walcott Henry popularised crossing the ball to himself and sprinting past all the defenders to meet his own cross. Same thing Mbappe now does. |
GeneralDae:I tire for them o. Check my updated comment you quoted sef. |
Makes sense. A word is enough for the wise. I dont get the commenters up there screaming Dangote upandan. The guy made valid suggestions like the biblical Joseph to Pharaoh. The world's largest producers of wheat and maize are going to halt supply for a while. Isnt it logical that it would result in global scarcity of wheat and maize products? If the truth comes from Dangote, does that make it false? Even a Flour Mills Yoruba rep also made the same prediction. Yet its Dangote that's the issue. So many Nairalnders are just programmed bots. |
NoToPile:You have a point but to be candid, the girl should have transferred back the 3k as soon as she gathered herself. Not doing that can give the driver leverage to lie that it was a "money for hand, back for ground" situation. Makes her evidence weaker or even turns it into his own evidence of consensual sex. |
Bimmarlykay:He can't start Luuk as he wouldnt have known beforehand that the Gala men will park the bus. What I think is happening is that in recent times our opponents have been bolder in playing out against us because there's no longer Messi to fear and because of our fall from grace this season. So the team is no longer used to grinding out victories against park the bus teams like during our heydays. Now, as our reputation gradually returns, we may now see more teams reverting to park bus tactics as seen yesterday. And the team has to adapt to play more penetrative, incisive and precise football within 25yards of the opponents goal. |
Kilishihunter:Ok, I'll be checking him out more during Napoli games. Umtiti still dey fresh for my mind ni jare. |
Kilishihunter:My analogy with Bakayoko (who was also highly regarded ahead of his Chelsea move) is simply because I'm wary of many so called black rugged defensive players (Not intended as a racist comment). How can one assess their ability/hunger to maintain consistency when they change clubs? |
