Devvy4:E go shock you. I'm sure you're elated I've replied you. Now you can evaporate please. |
GrammarNazi1:This is simply treachery. How can one be pro-Barca and publicly anti-Messi? I cannot understand. |
Kilishihunter:Looks good, but I just hope he wouldn't come and turn into a Bakayoko for us. |
Ermm, me I'm just waiting to see how Madrid will bungle their next La liga match. I'm 70% sure of this. Then the cries of Ancelotti out will resume ![]() |
temi1290:I'm with you bro as I think Messi should be more assertive with demanding the ball, but maybe he is also wary of the unforgiving French press misinterpreting his actions as arrogance. For example, Emmanuel Petit was recently saying Messi needs to lower himself and connect more with Mbappe since he is now the starboy and I was like is this guy even sensible at all? Hasn't it been Messi who has been providing Mbappe with the most assists, which other connection again? In the first leg against Madrid, Messi created three good chances for Mbappe. Some ex-players just blab just to criticize. The major culprits that don't give Messi balls once he is free within 25 yards of the centre goal are Verratti, Mbappe himself and Danilo. I am suspecting they didnt ever like him and are bringing that personal beef onto the pitch. Not sure I want Madrid to win though. I'm for Pep to win it and can live with the arrogance of the EPL loudmouths. |
Benzema deserves his spotlight. One of the three best strikers of the last 10 years together with Lewy and Suarez. Ronaldo's exit worked out for his benefit. Guy is now fully realizing his potential. |
temi1290:Yeah thanks. That's the scenario I referenced. |
Meanwhile, I gotta give Benzema due credit, even though we've bashed him here before as a non-high goalscoring striker. It's now obvious that twas Ronaldo limiting his shine as a striker, unlike the way Messi was able to allow Suarez to blossom. For me, he's now among the top three strikers(9) of the past ten years. Lewy, Suarez and Benz. |
Despite Messi's 35year age, his low effectiveness for PSG is much more due to the team not giving him the ball in dangerous positions even when he's free rather than him getting old. Hence, he is now much more limited to assists, meaning he is now dependent on others. At a point yesterday he was screaming at a team mate for not giving him a square ball which he could have side footed into goal. He can't dribble 3 players and score solo goals anymore like before, so he would thrive in a setting where there is a lot of teamwork, unfortunately that isnt PSG at the moment. |
PSG, not Messi was humiliated. Afterall even with the current world best player Mbappe they still messed up. They bungled it against Barca, against Man utd, against Bayern and now against Real. PSG Bottling Company. Apply within ![]() Meanwhile, so na CR no allow Benzema shine as world best contender all these years. Yet, Messi allowed Suarez to blossom into the world best 9 for some years while still maintaining his GOAT performances. Benzema is just so humble and I give him all due credit for this current turnaround. |
obonujoker:You get mouth now . The GOAT wannabe has his own problems and is trying to find his square root while the GOAT really has nothing to prove anymore jare. |
OJEEMAH:True, but for PSG, their loss was actually a function of their weak collective mentality and not because they didnt play well. In a tie of 4 halves, PSG outplayed Madrid tremendously for 3 and a half halves, yet capitulated so meekly in the final 25 minutes. No fight, no organization or teamwork under pressure. They are a perennial bottling company. |
Kilishihunter:I think Neymar is pretty fine with his nearly-there standing. But I think in this game, the mental capitulation actually came from PSG's midfield and defence. They lost all composure and could no longer supply their front three to try and salvage the game. This loss is on PSG collectively rather than only on Neymar or Messi. |
Devvy4:No dumbino. If Messi had scored the penalty, PSG would have sat back to protect the lead and Mbappe would not have been under pressure to score the last minute solo goal. It would still have ended 1-0. All the TV pundits are talking about how PSG as a team bungled it because of their bottling history. You dey carry GOAT matter for head. |
Kilishihunter:When I started watching PSG matches, I was amazed by the freedom Neymar had to lose the ball to the opponent in dangerous positions without reprimand. And it cost PSG the second goal tonight. At Barca, he wasnt that reckless, so obviously PSG has an indulgent culture and so long as he is there under coaches who give him the freedom to express himself, I see no redemption for him. Messi did not put a foot wrong tonight, but he seems to have accepted taking much less responsibility in driving the team and is now dependent on other players making good runs for his passes. He should just write off this season and reset himself for the world cup and next season. |
Kilishihunter:Not holding brief for Poch, but not so sure that he has any real power over the team. PSG bottled it under Unai Emery & Thomas Tuchel as well. Tuchel went on to win UCL convincingly with Chelsea. It's in their DNA something. |
Devvy4:Whether final or semis, did they win it? It's like Arsenal bragging they've reached UCL final and semifinals twice, who dat help? They are perennial bottlers. Messi's presence or not would not have changed their fate. Messi is a 4- time UCL winner. PSG - 0. |
PSG Bottling Company. No matter the situation dem go always bottle it. How does a team capitulate so meekly every single time even when they are still within shot of glory? Real Madrid - Double congratulations - for winning the tie and for the now certain capture of Mbappe. |
maestroferddi:Gosh, see beta social distancing from reality and logic. How can you equate the global appeal of Micheal Jackson, who is the greatest entertainer of all time, with PSquare?? Is being able to pull elite crowd about how hard a former A-lister works? Do you think even Mariah Carey will still pull hundreds of thousands of fans to a concert solo at this moment? Doesnt Tuface even produce better music lyrically than Psquare? Will that make him sell out the 02 Arena now? Crowd appeal is not a function of good music. It's a matter of current star power. |
maestroferddi:Forget your sentiments up there. None of the 3 First generation contemporary music Goats; Tuface, D,Banj & P'Square can sell out the O2 arena currently. The generation that loved their music are all middle-aged family people now and will not form the majority of the concert goers. It's not a coincidence that all three Icons have recently accepted roles as judges on talent audition shows which is a subtle admission of their downgrade from A-listers. |
kristonium:Help me ask him o. Kane wey never reach Henry, Suarez, Eto'o, Raul or even Alan Shearer. Even Wayne Rooney better pass am. |
OMOTOWO:Sorry for your loss sir. This is similar to what DBanj experienced. |
Penandowski on the beat lol Salzburg don hear am. Bayern no dey take second leg joke. Na so dem destroy Benfica 7-1 or so after those ones had beaten Bayern in the first leg 3-1 and thought they could upset them. |
Kane is just a very good striker. He is not up to Henry's class. That he surpassed his EPL goal tally doesnt mean a thing. Andy Cole, Frank Lampard and even Alan Shearer also scored more EPL goals than Henry but we know they all are not as great as Henry in EPL. Kane played many more matches than Henry to get to his current goal tally. Has zero trophies both at club and national level. Has never been in the ballon dor conversation. Abeg, Kane is just an upgraded Jermaine Defoe. Meanwhile, Henry was voted and adjudged the best EPL player of all time. #Respect |
Dont think there is a single Nollywood GOAT, our actors are not so flexible to interprete multiple roles seamlessly. But if I'm to pick the brightest stars that reigned supreme at various times in the various Nollywood sectors and made the biggest mark, they'd be: Male: RMD Zack Orji Pete Edochie Jide Kosoko Ogogo (Taiwo Hassan) Ramsey Nouah Nkem Owoh Saheed Balogun Odunlade Adekola Female: Liz Benson Omotola Jalade Genevieve Patience Ozokwor Mercy Johnson Nse Ikpe Etim Funke Akindele Toyin Aimakhu Shola Shobowale Honorable mentions: Regina Askia, Olu Jacobs, Emeka Ike, Chiwetalu Agu, Sam Loco, Aki n Pawpaw, Baba Suwe, Mr Ibu, Desmond Elliot, KOK, Van Vicker. |
FirstbornWds:Sure. Apart from his error that led to Elche's first goal, he took some uncharacteristically heavy touches in possession under pressure. |
FirstbornWds:Yeah I know he's always been poor in goal and he was decent today. But the reason why doesnt look explainable as he gets into good positions and a fair proportion of his shots are on target. It's almost as if he's been barred from scoring by unknown forces . |
What a dilemma we've got our hands. Ferran's excellent positioning and runs keeps creating chances for Barca, yet he is sure to miss 95% of those chances. I think he should consider laying off a pass to another attacker instead of taking the final shot. From what I've seen, he isn't a natural goalscorer. I was amused when the commentator mentioned the "Napoli misses" when he missed yet another chance tonight. Meanwhile, looks like Adama can do everything good but score. Is he jinxed or something? |
sureteeboy:The issue was that he japa'd too early. The director was still saying "no look am, na action remain" when the snake dropped and the guy couldn't hold it anymore, taking off just before the director said action again. |
That horse wants to disembowel that lady with its 2 -foot supercharged long pole. What if no other person had been around to help the lady? |
Kilishihunter:Ansu and Pedri are generational talents. Foden & her majesty's boys got nothing on them. Just praying they can push and exploit themselves like Mbappe. |
Kilishihunter:I like the fact that you highlighted the risk of getting carried away by current form. There was also a period during last season when it seemed everything had clicked under Koeman and we were challenging for the title having moved up from 6th to 2nd at a point with Messi in blistering form. But in the season's run-in, we lost steam and fell aside like a pack of cards. We need to build a strong sustainable team befitting of Barca's elite status and getting Haaland will be a step in the right direction. |
