Betscoreodds:Very weak and poor analogy from you. Your wife bringing a knife to the same bed that you sleep on is already bringing a threat into your space and you have every right to question that action. The appropriate comparison would be if your neighbour buys a gun and brings it home. That can never give you the right to attack him in his own house. You can engage the neighbour verbally to understand his motives, but if you attack him, you can never be justified. |
Melovar:Nice price, e remain make you disclose all the issues wey wrong with the car ![]() |
jpmoriarti:I'm saying the same thing. Just want him to realise his full potential as he grows because he is capable. That's all. |
tesppidd:Flesh and blood did not reveal this to you compadre
|
mostob:Who ever knew Aubameyang would be such a good fit at Barca? I couldnt believe it was the same lazy languid Aubameyang at Arsenal that was now working his socks off tracking back all over the pitch for Barca. Same might apply for Pogba. He probably just needs a more suitable environment away from that Cursed Trafford. Would be a good buy for the right price. |
jonsnow92:Exactly my point at the emboldened. The difference expected is increased direct contribution to goal. Based on your comment, it would seem Pedri is more closer to a Xavi than Iniesta. But it is the same Xavi that has fuelled the Iniesta comparisons with Pedri. He's basically a hybrid of the two, a Pedri ![]() |
Descottes:Good point. But personally, I want Pedri to have more direct attack input since he plays as an attacking midfielder just because when things get to the business end, such contributions would even be more valuable. Pedri's talent is Balon dor worthy but he can only get Balon D'or recognition if he add goals and assists to his game. I'm a realist. His assessment now is dependent on how well the team performs in terms of goals, and if Pedri plays very well while Barca isnt scoring well, it detracts from his public rating. I just wouldnt want a situation where a less talented Vinicius is getting individual awards over Pedri for obvious reasons. |
andrewbaba44:No. But Arthur Melo started out with a really big buzz as Xavi reincarnate which soon faded into frustration with each sideway pass favoured over an opportunity to penetrate. Point is we all thought we had Xavi on our hands again until it all meloed down into mediocrity. Just my thought that if Pedri had more direct goal involvement, that risk would be non existent. |
Descottes:You misunderstand my comment completely. I wasnt comparing Pedri and Iniesta's performances at same age at all. What I was trying to bring out in comparison is their style of play. Pedri's style seems to be more satisfied with pulling the strings from midfield and less of direct attacking acumen. Iniesta right from time has always displayed a more direct attacking (G/A) mindset. The key point now is that people like Xavi himself are now likening Pedri to Iniesta. And my point is that for Pedri to truly become Iniesta, he needs to develop more in his direct goal contribution, else he'll be denied due recognition for his unbelievable talents (top 3 Ballon D'or level) . And he has several years ahead of him to develop that part which I dont dispute. Hope this is clearer. |
Debroslink:Yes this is true. However, there have been exceptions to this in the persons of Xavi and Modric. But Pedri is like neither of those and is more like Iniesta. I remember a time Fabregas was the top assister in top 5 league football but wasnt getting due recognition until a former Brazilian star had to tell him to add goals to his game for him to be considered among the best. |
Descottes:Iniesta still did that more than Pedri's present trajectory. In his earlier years, Iniesta scored and assisted more than Pedri's present rate. He also won a lot of penalties with his silky trickery. Pedri needs to be able to do an Iniesta vs Chelsea UCL last minute or an Iniesta vs Holland WC extra time or what Iniesta did against Madrid several times for him to be truly considered among such legendary company. He needs to avoid the path of Arthur Melo. |
ButterBurger:Even Abacha has fans in nigeria from the south, as evil as he was. How much more Putin who prior to now was seen as a lesser evil but more fearsome leader. Most anti-US peeps here would naturally gravitate towards Putin just to spite the US under all manner of half-baked conspiracy theories. |
Kilishihunter:I literally "died" when Pedri did this and my jaw snapped opened wide for minutes. What impudence! It was almost a Messi-Boateng moment for me. Or maybe a Messi-Milner moment more accurately. Had to spare his Bilbao victim some thought about how he'd look his kid in the eye later that night and respond to queries of "why did you lay that egg pop" Pedri only needs to have more direct goal involvements and boom, another Iniesta will be truly reborn in Camp Nou. |
anewchapter:Lol, more like Australian Aquaman. Only dont understand why an aquaman should be fleeing a flood. Hollywood should get that man a movie role asap! |
tesppidd:Lol, as if you read my mind. No be today wey Dembele dey give us that occasional brilliant performance. He did it against Tottenham 3 years ago and against Sociedad away last season. The thing is he puts too much social distancing between those performances for whatsoever reason. Personally, I've given up on him being able to reach the level of consistency Mbappe displays and for that reason, he doesnt excite me anymore like he did before. Somehow I still really hope he proves me wrong. Even in yesterday's match, while not taking anything away from him for putting in a great performance, his first goal would have been a bad decision for shooting at such a tight angle with a defender blocking him when the expected thing to do was to cut the defender and lay off a pass into the box. But because he scored, he is excused and even lauded. Yet we all know that had he not scored, we would have all gone..not again Dembouz.. The guy na case I swear....Dynamite wey dey sound like matchstick |
Among those there, Beckham is number one. |
astOorR:Yeah, Roovez. Not that I forgot, but just thought they weren't as fearsome as the other combinations I listed for Man Utd. Note that I was picking only the best partnerships |
Jokerman:Isnt that how you also assess Messi before calling him names too? Messi wey go dey create chances for others without even missing much chances and yet na him name you go call if he no score. Why are you then crying now bro ![]() |
I think I'd name the best strike partnerships for the best teams of the last 30 years. AC Milan - Inzaghi & Shevchenko, Kaka & Shevy Madrid - Raul & De Lima, Benzema & CR Liverpool - Owen & Heskey, Gerard & Torres, Salah & Mane Man City - Aguero & Dzeko Juventus - Trezeguet & Del Piero, Higuain & Dybala Inter - Ronaldo de Lima & Zamorano, Adriano & Zlatan, Milito & Eto'o Arsenal - Henry & Bergkamp, Henry & Pires PSG - Zlatan & Cavani, Neymbappe Man utd - Yorke & Cole, Rooney & Nistelrooy, Rooney & Ronaldo, Rooney & RVP B.Munich - Ribery & Robben, Robbendowski, Mullendowski Chelsea - Zola & Hasselbaink, Drogba & Anelka, Duff & Robben, Diego Costa & Hazard Barca's last partnership was Ronadinho & Eto'o, they are famously known for trios, Messi, Henry, Eto and MSN, before degenerating into Messi and nobodies ![]() My best partnership was Henry and Pires, best trio remains MSN. |
Lol, I had a good laugh, especially about Chisom's boyfriend and the baby calm down fine boy. Most were really funny, which is a hard one these days. |
FirstbornWds:To be honest, I also still believe Stegen is a world class goalkeeper that's only going through a rough patch. I think his class is permanent and he should soon rediscover himself especially under Xavi's mentorship. He never bad reach De Gea's last season, yet see how De Gea is now Man utd most consistent performer once more. |
mostob:Not okay with Stegen's failings but Leno is much worse. But even Oblak dey fumble now U no see Mendy or Martinez for ground? |
FirstbornWds:Getting the right coach truly matters. Nothing is more pleasing than seeing a coach's blue print manifest so vividly on the pitch. We have to acknowledge Guardiola's greatness and pioneer ingenuity for inspiring high press mentees like Xavi, Tuchel and even Klopp. |
Debroslink:Dembele's shots defy playstation controls. Always out of range. |
mostob:No be only Leno, add Leningrad..mstchew |
Xavi has truly brought a fresh breath of life to the team. Can't believe this is the same spineless team Koeman left in tatters now playing with an intensity that we all thought was totally lost for the last couple of years under Koeman & Setien. Now I can face Madrid with some confidence. Bring it on Carlo! |
How is he a burden to PSG? Is PSG as a team worse off now than last season? Did they have more league points at this time last season than now? Isnt PSG now the favorite to progress against Madrid on strength of their first leg performance? They couldnt beat Barca at at Parc Des Princes last year, but they beat Madrid this year there. If not for Messi's stellar standards, 7 goals and 9 assists in 22 matches is not a bad output by any standard for an attacking midfielder. But I even accept it's below par for Messi. Rothen is wrong cos his statement doesnt make objective sense. How could he say it's acceptable for others to miss a penalty except Messi. He should calm down and watch Messi eventually deliver despite his age. |

ThierryJay:I said this earlier, Ref why na. Twould have been better left for Pedri jare. |
I just hope that that Pedri kaboom is not deemed to take a slight touch off Auba on it's way to promised land by the goals review committee. As it is, Auba may yet be awarded a hat trick. |
Kilishihunter:I am trying to picture the recipients of this your sub o ![]() |
