Are u naturally stupid? Joromi is his copyright. Even if it is a fashion statement, he made it popular and it became his copyright. All your statements reeks of stupidity.

joromi is a popular Edo folklore that has existed long before Sir Victor was born. it is also a name given to baby boys in edo.

don't just throw insults around

I'm sorry, but who did uwaifo acknowledge before using the popular joromi word in his song? did he copyright the word?
Celebrities / Re: Simi, Jaywon Remixed ‘joromi’ Without My Permission – Sir Victor Uwaifo by thinkative: 7:21am On Nov 27, 2017
Ishilove:

You are very wrong. Simi's 'joromi' is a rip off of Uwaifo's 'Joromi'. She used 'Uwaifo's' chorus in her song and even appropriated the title.

wow! are u talking about another simi song?

wasn't uwaifo's chorus totally in his dialect?
Celebrities / Re: Simi, Jaywon Remixed ‘joromi’ Without My Permission – Sir Victor Uwaifo by thinkative: 7:19am On Nov 27, 2017
martineverest:
what u said doesn't follow...... Recall, Robin thicke was asked to pay $7m just 4 using a line of one old school artiste track

in this case, the only word that links the two songs is the word/name joromi.

its like calling every artiste who ever sang about Caro a thief. very wrong

They know, they are just being thieves.

The ones supporting the pirates have never had their work stolen hence their comments

there is no piracy in this case. not even a phrase from his song was used by simi. he sang his joromi in a local dialect. Simi's song was in English throughout. no similarity in style or concept.

just the name joromi which is a very common Edo word or name for a baby boy.

no piracy here. haven't heard jaywon's version sha

I think the man invented the name "joromi" or have u heard or seen anyone with such name, the name is "fictional". If so he has the right, I stand to be corrected sha.

Joromi is an old Edo folklore about a wrestler who defeated all rivals on earth and then decided to go take on wrestlers in the after world. Sir Uwaifo did not invent the name.

Tho I respect him for his music. But he can often be overly bashful and can descend to embarrassing depths at times. Remember watching and award ceremony where he was honored. He packed all his children on stage and started telling us where they schooled and what they do for a living. one by one too.

This is another embarrassing case. Simi's song bears no kind of semblance to his song. not whatsoever. just the name joromi

This is not the problem facing Nigerian government and her citizens. For me i like it
and it is her choice to wear it. Rather than face her innocent choice, lets face our governors, the thieves, who are the problems we have. Senators?

you knocked people for criticizing the romanticizing of a former thieving president

logically, you would have no issue with the next generation donning shirts with the faces of our current thieving governors and senators?

yet you want us to stand against those governors, thieves and senators.....

your post has failed the logic test

Murtala Mohamed was the main actor in the Asaba massacre and he has an airport to his name and his portrait on the 20 Naira note. please free the girl abeg....
in fact, muritala Mohammed once held the airport now named after him hostage for several hours during the counter coup before the civil war. he commandeered a group of soldiers that held everyone hostage and even murdered some soldiers that were on the other side of the divide. right inside the airport. how ironic

Well sorry ehn but my folks didn't queue up for that...

Ojota to Maryland was 10naira sweets et al were quality was unaware the peak was being imported cos it was affordable, bread was cheap etc

NOTE:I'm comparing his time to specifically Jonathan /buhari era

Isn't it under civilians kidnappings began ? Or you'll now claim back then there were kidnappings?

Till this day kids are still being snatched off the streets

He stole ---Yes ! He killed his enemies -Yes!
But no federal authority has delivered half of what he delivered . I'm sure ojota to Maryland would be 100naira now

Do you realize that it was under him that our refineries stopped working. It was under him that we started importing petroleum products.

I vividly remember the notorious case of foul smelling petrol that was imported back then. The smell was pungent and it destroyed the engines of people's cars.

There was also the case of rent seeking. the exchange rate was 22naira to a dollar but unofficially, the naira sold at over 80 naira to a dollar. of course, his aides and associate were able to buy at 22 naira and then sell at 80 naira for massive profits.

Long story short, he was like every other president or head of state we ever had. a few decent accomplishments but on the whole, he was terrible. the fact that he was also a thief and a murderer makes it a million times worse.

And unless you believe a thieving murderer can make a good president, I think we should drop this abacha issue

What about the fact that despite all you quoted good was cheap transport was cheap accesories were cheap as a kid amusement park visits were steady... crime was low

That's how libyans were complaining about gadafi and his human rights record ...
Which of your "elected" officials can boast that?

Democracy is the worst choice...

are you kidding me? crime was low? I was in primary school and later junior secondary back then and I vividly remember the gbomogbomo menace back then (child kidnappings). it was also in that era where armed robbers gave notice that they were coming to rob your street.

as regards cheap commodities. I laugh. kerosene was so expensive and scarce that we had to invent the famous abacha stove that used sawdust from saw mills. you needed to see how Nigerians were queing up for sawdust .

stop romanticizing that thief and murderer

he is gone and gone for good

Most people were raised to hate Sani Abacha, induced by western and local media to hate the man. Please do your own research about the man and his government.

In hindsight, judging by what we have now,our democratic experiment riddled with wanton institutional and societal corruption and total disregard for morality in any form and infrastructural collapse; oh I nearly forgot ethno-tribal sentiments at their highest, Islamic terrorism, Niger-Delta militancy, etc.
Please check this against his hardly spoken about economic achievements and you will understand why the lady is wearing the T-Shirt. Please use social media wisely.
When the West want to kill you they give you a bad name!
In my opinion, arguably the best President we have ever had!
He was a fully detribalised person, that loved Nigeria very deeply and cared for it's people. He stood up against the West, made us dignified and died for it. Balance this against the nonsense we have had since his death!
which economic achievements are you talking about? I grew up in that era, and we were dirt poor. Nigerians were struggling and grumbling.
we had no light. kerosene was very scarce. we had to fabricate a stove that burned on saw dust we gathered at saw mills. we even called it abacha stove.

his so called economic achievements were no more better than the achievements bandied around by okonjo-iweala and adeosun. much talk about indices and percentages, yet the people sleep on empty stomach and wake in darkness.

I don't think he was the worst president that we ever had in terms of his policies. But his human rights record and the institutional corruption and moral torpitude that goes with him makes him the worst thing that ever happened to this country. He is a scum of the earth. a rogue. a common thief. a philandering bastard. and a murderer. deal with it!

He was the only president who held the dollar at a steady price for 5 years notwithstanding the faCT that we were under strict sanctions. The people he jailed are the same people running the Senate and making a mess of out economy.

What about the FACT that he forced himself on Nigerians and was never elected by the people?

What about the FACT that he jailed a democratically elected president and murdered hundreds of his supporters? Even his wife

What about the FACT that he murdered Ken Saro Wiwa and his Ogoni kinsmen over a nonviolent campaign against the degradation of their land?

What about the FACT that he stole billions of dollars straight from the treasury and stashed them abroad?
