For me it was during this one campus protest in varsity, normally during our usual protests, I'd make sure to either position myself at the back, or in the middle of the crowd just so I can easily run for cover the moment the police start throwing their tear gas or firing rubber bullets at us.

That day I don't know what got to me that I positioned myself at the front, I don't know if I was high in the Economic Freedom Fighters Students Command's revolutionary songs or what, because those comrades could sing and their protests carried weight... ... One of the things that had me invested in campus politics was their revolutionary music...

The police positioned themselves and as they started firing rubber bullets and tear gas at us, we dispersed for cover and while I was still in the process of taking cover, I was shot twice, one on my thigh and the other on my butt, I felt the second one that hit my butt knocking out all my dreams and hopes of becoming a comrade, and as if that wasn't enough, a third one hit my back and it was a final nail in the coffin... Those things hurt, I spent the entire week sitting with only one butt cheek... That was my biggest mistake.

pls do not use your own personal experience to generalized all adopted children. I was adopted , I loved my adopted mum mother than my biological mum who only turned she turn up when I was 23yrs old . Both of them are late now but I am more emotionally attached to my adopted mum more. When my adopted mum became ill, I took some time from work to care for her till her death. I was the daughter she never had.
Both of them are late now but it was my adopted mum that I deeply mourned and not my biological mum. Pls don't generalize. I still misses her till this day.

My spiritual father adopted 6 different children from different parents at different times all teenagers. Today he is enjoying all of them. He is in his mid 60s himself and wives are just traveling abroad the way they like courtesy of all his adopted kid.

No matter how visa or anything is expensive they buy or send to them. You will never believe that those children are not theirs. Currently he has adopted another 22 years Edo girl who takes care of them like no other since the others have grown up and they are currently working her on nursing course.

I can count numerous people I know personally like this due to the of my previous job.

There's no hard and fast rule in life.

An aunty I know adopted a girl as she had only male children. When the girl grew to a teenager, people told her my aunt is not her mother especially with the fact that the aunt was already in her 50s when the adoption began. Then she began being troublesome and tormented her adopted parents. Was being entitled and difficult. Sharp sharp, one of her sons took charge of the matter, he damned the sentimentality got her things packed out and took her to a Christian boarding school and forgot her there. No one called her, no one even cared about her while she was there. The school threatened to send the girl away, the guy insisted that his family doesn't care.
After a year of abandonment, the 14 year old girl came back begging and apologizing for the damage she caused before they accepted her back. Now she understands family is a privilege.

I want to ask you a question ans I want you to answer me with all sincerity: Whose fault is all these? The girl? The people that inform the girl when she was teenager and your aunt did not do anything about it to the extent of arresting the people? And again why would the girl true parentage be announced to people and even her siblings too?

He was head of Rotary club and I remember vividly that he started a programme that encourage parents to adopt kids.

This was Obasanjo era. Economy was good

My neighbor a nurse adopted 2 kids boys
One popular woman in church adopt 1 boy

Now I have been going to that church since I was a kid so I remember when they adopted those kids and did baptism for them.

Now fast forward 2025
My neighbor 2 boys turn out to be cultist

Following its publication, the Nigeria Police Force’s National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) announced it would investigate the matter, describing the allegations as serious and warranting thorough review. Reports indicate that authorities in Nigeria, the UK, and Romania have been involved, with some funds reportedly seized, though no formal charges have been filed against Ikeji as of now.


In response to the swirling accusations, Henry Nzubechukwu issued a statement dismissing the claims as “100 per cent false, malicious, and a desperate fabrication” aimed at sabotaging his business interests. He described the allegations as defamatory and part of an orchestrated campaign of character assassination by disgruntled elements. Nzubechukwu emphasized that he has never engaged in fraud, romance scams, or impersonation of any kind.


He has reportedly honored invitations from agencies such as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to address the matter and clear his name. Supporters and associates have echoed his denial, asserting that he is a legitimate entrepreneur active in sectors like gadgets and real estate.
