Family › Re: Should I Marry This Man? by thorpido(m): 8:36am On Jul 29, 2016
AdaAda1331:
You have it exactly right. That's why I'm on this forum. I know you all can't make the decision for me but I'm having second thoughts if this is something I'll immensely regret doing/not doing. I had an idea about his family behavior but it never directly affected me until now that I'm being attacked. I know God wouldn't want me to make a decision out of fear but I'm still on the fence if this is also God's way of telling me to run. I see the fire now before marriage and me saying yes will be me putting my hand in it. I don't know if that's wise.
Op,I wouldn't say you are controlling but you appear a bit forward from the tone of your comments here(I do not intend to criticise you but just to point out an area you will need to work on). It's a good thing to want to mediate in a family where there are issues but you will need to step back in such situations, you're not their family head.If you decide to be involved, let it just be in cases where you are called.
From your name Ada,you're a first daughter, probably first born and brilliant so you subconsciously dominate.Just let it not be shown in other people's affairs.
Take note of Toksbisola's comments and onegai's too.You need people skills.

Step back a bit from this whole situation.Don't worry about the marriage and pay more attention to your studies.Maintain the relationship with your man but use the time re-evaluate the relationship.
You don't have to be in a rush for marriage, you're still young.

Family › Re: Should I Marry This Man? by thorpido(m): 4:00pm On Jul 28, 2016
If he has shown himself to be someone of exemplary character as you say,I'll say you should give it a chance.
One thing I want you to consider is how much independence he has.Does his family control the decisions he makes? Also,if you marry, are you going to live close to them?

Prettiepearlz:
But why did the brother call you a selfish and controlling person? And what about his real mother?
Answer these questions.

The patient denied all the questions posed to her. It was when her stomach was opened up that we saw uterus bulging. Nobody thought of pregnancy. Her parents were worried about her because nobody knew what was wrong. Unfortunately, they didn’t do pregnancy test.

This report above doesn't make sense nor corelate with the body of the piece of sh!t 'journalism' report I just read. We delivered the baby at home by neighbours then midwives... then cleaned by two doctors at General Hospital ..questioning where? Then stomach opened up and the uterus was bulging horseshit....

Somebody should please explain this. Thanks
Read the whole report again.....slowly

I never thought of the hospital although rehab came to mind. Don't know which hospital will admit him, he's acting real loco. Thanks.
It depends on where you are.You can find a private hospital where they have a physician or take him to a teaching hospital.
He might need to be evaluated by a psychiatrist too.
Health › Re: Tramadol Addiction ( Please Help) by thorpido(m): 6:54am On Jul 28, 2016
Take him to a hospital and help him go through rehabilitation.A lot of young people are abusing tramadol and soon the government might need to do something about it.
A young guy was brought-in-dead(BID) to the clinic one day.He had taken tramadol mixed with something.
Family › Re: Was He Right To Have Done This? by thorpido(m):
The wife may have been treating him bad in the US but his action was stupid anyway. If you are in a marriage and you are getting abused by your spouse, physically or emotionally, then you need to ask yourself if it's worth staying in the union.

You quit the marriage and move on with your life rather than wait to travel back to Nigeria so you can beat up your spouse. The man has gone back to the US and he's obviously not a smart man.The wife will find her way back there and she can make him pay for this.

Family › Re: My Husband And I Just Found Out He Has An 18yr Old Daughter. by thorpido(m): 7:00am On Jul 27, 2016
If he just found out too, then you can't blame him. Some men 'shoot' and go their way only to find out later they 'killed'.There's a daughter here and she needs a father. He has a role to play in her life and you should let him.
It seems your apprehension is based on the fact that you are still trying to conceive.Don't stress yourself, just believe your own child will come.
There's nothing to fear about your marriage,he won't leave you for his babymama.

Thanks Thorpido. My next question would be: how much of these anatomical and chemical differences account for gender differences vs the role of cultural and historical factors. If you call it a thesis question, I'll agree with you perfectly smiley
Serious thesis. How do I go about this research?
Career › Re: My Employer Is Threatening To Sack Me Because I Am Pregnant by thorpido(m):
Was that the rule before you were employed? If they didn't want someone who will be pregnant, they should have told you.
I'm afraid there's nothing you can do if they decide to relieve you of your job. Most companies want newly employed staff to be on ground for a while before taking maternity leaves.

I read the article below and I thought it was an interesting one. What caught my interest most are the words of the professor. It kept me pondering deeply on my current beliefs and I am asking myself if he is indeed correct about his postulations.

A lot of us, including myself have always believed and I've heard it a lot from peeps on this forum that men and women are naturally created for specific roles e.g women are natural nurturers, men are natural providers/protectors etc But having read this article, I ask myself again, is it really true? Could it be that we think we are naturally good at some specific roles because culturally and historically, our minds have been programmed into believing that we should be better at some roles than the opposite sex and so we evolve in that direction? The words of this professor challenges this "myth" and I want to know if I am the only one questioning my current beliefs. Does this professor's words challenges the "norm" in any way? (Pls keep an open mind to this, don't respond with any mindset).

My question is - do you agree with the professor? Or is there any element of truth/fact in his assertion? That there isn't any limitation to what we are naturally good at if only we can disbelieve our current beliefs about gender roles?

There are actually anatomical and chemical differences between the male brain and the female brain. Also there are differences in hormones in the male and female which obviously affects response to information and the environment.
For instance,it's been found that the female brain has much more interconnectivity in its electrical wiring in comparison to the male which might explain why women are better in multi-tasking than men. There's no doubt that culture plays a role in perception and orientation but even then some of the cultures were developed by observation of lifestyle.
In the home, there should be flexibility and either sex can take up roles especially when there is a need for it but no doubt,a particular sex generally speaking will do a task better than the other.

Naah, I doubt you're a Loyolan, so you probably don't get the gist. If I was undisciplined, I wouldn't have made my SSCE in one sitting and made it to University that same year. In fact throughout 6 years in the school, I wasn't for once involved in any major issue. So calm down, I know what I'm talking about, discipline and leading with fear are two different things.
Well I'll have to agree with you based on this statement.

Don't know if it's normal. .when I use warm/hot water to massage, it gets better. .
This is the only pregnancy isshh i am experiencing since the beginning of my pregnancy cry

Make una help me touchlight the matter abeg.. we're 31weeks+ ...
Thank you. .

Cc : zaynie , liftedhands , kaffy4bill , soonest thorpido
It's normal PresVA.At 31weeks your baby is taking all the space and there's more pressure on the pelvic organs and structures especially the ligaments.Movements will stretch them and cause you pain.
Just bear it but if it becomes too painful and consistent, you might need some pain relievers. The hot water bottle is also good for relief.

Crack, you're still young, strong and decades away from hanging boots so the thought of a sexless life is alien. Don't worry, when you're his age you will prolly be tired of sex too
The man is in his 50s,I doubt he is tired of sex.Men at that age even if they can't perform naturally use enhancers.

She's got the wealth to support her proclivities and this is her saving grace.

Maybe not having money will subdue libido. You know how you feel when there's cash to spend? You feel like i can pay so why can't i get it.

Hmm, thorpido when I'm her age I will work on my own libido too because.... lipsrsealed grin wink cheesy

I don't think it's all women who take drugs or have therapists because I recall reading a story about an Italian couple in their 70s. The wife dragged her husband to divorce court because the man was no longer interested in sex. The woman complained they made love just once a week, because her husband was more interested in playing cards with his friends than having sex.

I was like 'shey this granny still has power for nacking'? undecided

At their age I don't think 10mins is bad. Haba, oga thorpido, you want the men to be nacking 30 mins?? huh They won't reach 60.
Some women don't slow down.
Well 10mins is not worth it with people like Ita-Giwa.That's much below expectations. That's why she jejely chooses young strong men.
