To say the truth a Igbo wife is better than a Yoruba wife
What's your criteria?
If I may ask you, which one is better,Imo wife or Anambra wife?Enugu wife or Abia wife?

Kakamorufu:
could be both of em at fault. Ts why i don't feel intertribal marriages that much
The same way it is with this case is also how it happens with an Egba man and his Ibadan wife or the Ekiti man and his ijebu wife.
It's not so much about tribe but love, tolerance, patience, temperance and other virtues that make living together blissful.

My dear, it's that kind of marriage they call 'poly bag marriage'. She got pregnant, moved in with her nylon bag and na so 'marriage' start.

Why are they in court if he didn't pay her brideprice?? She isn't married to him in the eyes of God and man undecided

Did you read your own article and understand?undecided
Mary jane Iyamma is alive according to your story.I'm talking about people who lose babies out of negligence. Even those who die have family members who can take up their cases.

Clash of cultures... You didn't know more about the tribe you were marrying into before you said I do. Now you are complaining.
Also they prolly had someone else in mind for their son but he disappointed them by sticking with you, don't expect them to change anytime soon. Sorry
it had more to do with both of them not being responsible.
There are steps to laying a proper foundation for marriage, not just fvcking and getting pregnant.

The lady has remarried so the union is as good as dissolved.
Health › Re: Abandoned Pregnant Women Die In Labour Rooms by thorpido(m): 4:26pm On Aug 12, 2016
If indeed her story is true then she should make a formal report. She should petition the COMMAND of the hospital and also write the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria. She should also get a lawyer.
That's too much negligence.

If you don't complete your drug dosage,it can create a resistance such that the drug no longer becomes as effective as before and you need to take another type(which usually is more expensive) to get results.

Well,it's a good thing he said the bible never said such actions will take you to hell.In the examples he quoted, those characters there(jezebel) had issues that wasn't caused by make-up anyway.
There are people who lose their hair to diseases(eg cancer) or hair just falls off.Such people will need a wig and that doesn't make them sinners.

Moderation,I believe is key.

You could just send him another message apologising if it was your fault and wait for him to reply.
If he still doesn't reply start to think of moving forward. Why tie yourself down?

What is worth it shouldn't keep hurting.

I knew she was a single mother before marrying her daughter and she didn't raise her daughter all by herself, I dated her daughter for 7 years before marrying her and I know she was raised by both parent, you are right my wife is a mummy's girl and there is nothing like having our own space with my MIL coz according to her the house is big enough, I can't even watch matches on weekend when I'm supposed to be resting and talking to my wife and son, I'm always in the room watching movies on YouTube because she always have the remote and it has to be on African magic while she discussed other family issues with my wife, I'm fed up
The bolded can't continue. You may have to take drastic measures like unplugging the cable. If you want to go out together, maybe you will send your wife out in advance and then go join her leaving your MIL behind.
You just have to let her see you need your space.
Family › Re: By Tradition:Who Takes Custody Of The Child In The Case Of A Broken Relationship by thorpido(m): 12:26pm On Aug 11, 2016
Cultures differ so based on culture it could be the father or the mother.
Most times the custody of the child will go to the one who is in a better position to raise the child or the one who wants the child.
If there is a dispute, then both families can have a meeting and come to an agreement.

She is a single mother and she lives in her own house while my father inlaw warned me not too get too close to her after I complained to him about her involvement in my home, he told me to go on a vacation with my wife and son but when my wife told her we are planning going on a vacation to Dubai, she called me to tell me how she has always wanted to visit Dubai and she must be included in the trip, I loved the suggestion of Twaci but I can't tell my mom what I'm going through, she is married and lives with her own husband she can't just leave her home, my dad will never support that.
I want to believe you knew the bolded before saying I do and should have known the implications especially if she raised your wife all by herself.Does she have other children who are married?
You're going to have a bit of a challenge handling this especially since your wife is a mummy's girl.

Try to have a talk with your wife about your position and the need to have your own space.Subtly start to make your MIL aware too that you need that space too.Sometimes stay away from your house(if possible for a day or two) whenever she is expected to come.
Most of all, learn to accommodate it because it's not something that will go away soon.Anytime you need your privacy, just go into your bedroom.

Anyone who needs help or want to help can go there go do whatever they wish. grin
they can be directed to TeHN then.

I agree those threads should not be deleted but a section created for them and such threads brought to front page once in a while so everyone sees them.Eventually, there will be a need for law enforcement agents to get involved.

@Oweniwe,I wouldn't agree on a total ban of soliciting for help(and cash) on this forum. There are people who genuinely need help and sometimes they may not be able to get that help offline.I have such case here and created a thread because of her.
I just think people should observe due diligence before sending money to anyone. There should be a scrutiny and the case verified before any exchange of cash.

You dated for only two months and you were already pregnant when you married. Is this how young people live nowadays?

Well, what I will tell you is to try and find other things to make you happy.Occupy yourself with your job and hobbies.Your husband is formed the way he is- some men are not romantic no matter how hard you try and can be very old school.Just give your husband what he wants for peace.

My father is Educated and civilised.
Hmmm,it seems your mum has your dad under her control. He's educated yet he lets his daughters marry as minors without education?

You will need to learn a skill, find a way to be on your own and start a new life.
