Family › Re: Why Are some Familylanders Quick To Advise Anyone To Divorce His/her Spouse? by thorpido(m): 11:38pm On Aug 04, 2014
ibizgirl: For me what baffles me is why come to a forum to seek advice? Don't these people have friends/family who know all the facts about their peculiar situation, why come online to seek advice from people you don't know how well they are handling their own affairs. No matter how difficult a person is there is that 1 person he/she listens to.
When you go seeking advise you take what you see. Like I tell my kids, if I ask you to enter fire will you do that? Advices should be properly examined before they are followed.
Most times it's good to post here for advice. You want to get neutral views about your situation. It's an anonymous forum so nobody really knows you.
Some of the things you want advice on may not be things you want to share with family members for obvious reasons so it's not a bad thing soliciting for advice from strangers.
You just need to separate the wheat from the chaff.

^^^exactly.
You have to show examples so we know which situation you speak about instead of generalising.
Christianity Etc › Re: Do Christians And Muslims Reall Serve The Same God??? by thorpido(m):
caseless: the uniqueness and 'compactness' of d quran shld show u that it was not written by muhammad; no old and new testament, no kjv, no name of his companion was tagged to any verse of d quran, like u have matt 8:10 etc in d bible. Who were these men to jesus?
Bible has bn edited more than 5000 times. Quran has bn original and great; evn clinton, napoleo, churchill and so many great men attested to this fact.
Big deal about the quran remaining the same(which is arguable according to history). The works of Shakespeare has also remained the same. Before the copy that you have was put together, there has been arguments about what was initially written(do your research).I hope you know Muhammed was illiterate and did not write himself.Others wrote,so your argument about the bible being written by men faults your own belief.
You also do not understand that God can use 'many' men for His works.
Finally, how come Muhammed was unspoken of by all the prophets and even Jesus never made mention of him,yet he(as claimed by him) is the greatest and last prophet? How come no book except the quran ever spoke of him?How can the 'last' prophet be unknown by other prophets either in dreams or visions?Doesn't seem right!

Please don't quote scriptures from the bible to me since you claim the bible is not true. Moreover, the scriptures you always quote as muslims never referred to Muhammed.Do a proper check before answering my question.
Family › Re: My Mother Hates Me And My Sister For No Reason by thorpido(m): 7:03am On Aug 04, 2014
Op.we can't determine how we come or who we come through in this life.
However,we can pick ourselves up from where we have found ourselves and make the best of our lives.

Your mother gave birth to you but I'm afraid you won't get her to 'mother' you and you have to look beyond her. She's pouring her frustrations on you. It's not your fault she didn't marry your dad and had children for different men.The people who have cared for you are the parents you have.

Now face your future.Get a job and look for ways to improve yourself.Try to acquire new skills so you can earn more income.

caseless: d gospel was fabricated by men; i don't believe in it.
The quran came by Muhammed. He was a man too.
Christianity Etc › Re: Do Christians And Muslims Reall Serve The Same God??? by thorpido(m): 8:50pm On Aug 03, 2014
caseless: Only if christains are not worshipping 3 gods; god of the father, and of the son and of the holy spirit...then, i'd say xtains and muslims are worshipping the same God. It is for a fact that God of Adam, Nuhu/Noah Abraham/ibrahim, yunus/jona, enoch/idris, david/dauda, suleiman/solomon, joseph/yusuf, jacob/yakub, musa/moses, luutu/loth, jesus/isah is the God of muhammad(s.a.w) and whose msg muhammad came with.
what fact?what proof do you have for your fact?
You do not know the God Who sent Jesus!Everyone who knows Him believes the gospel.
Family › Re: Guy Stabs Girlfriend To Death For Refusing To Marry Him In Lagos by thorpido(m): 9:04pm On Aug 02, 2014
Hmmm.Ladies need to be quick to see signs of violence in a guy they get involved with.Unfortunately, girls seem to love the bad guys.

The girl could gave been saved if the bleeding had been controlled.
Please everyone,if you see someone bleeding from the arms or legs, put pressure on the area of bleeding with a clean cloth(but please don't expose yourself to the blood). If it doesn't stop the bleeding, make a tourniquet with a belt,or sleeve of a shirt and wrap it around the limb away from the area of bleeding but above it.Make it firm but not too tight to cause further injury. Please do not use a wire or string.
You could help save a life before a doctor arrives.

Madam,if you are the person in question, just relax.

It is possible to have a positive pregnancy(which could be false positive) and even 'feel' symptoms of pregnancy but only a scan can confirm if there is indeed a pregnancy.Just wait a few more days and run another test(blood PT) or a scan to confirm.

You don't have the respect you ought to have in your house. How did you allow it get to this?
You need to be firm henceforth and put your sisters in their place.Unfortunately, your wife is not helping matters.

Dialogue more with your wife rather than just dishing out instructions and don't let your financial situation erode your self-confidence.

Having read the other story and taking a scrutinising look at the picture,i conclude the story was concocted based on the camera angle of the picture.
It actually seems there's someone beside the pastor that the woman is reaching out to.

kweenkong: I am Yoruba married to an Isoko guy but my family is finding it hard to understand some of there culture despite my in laws being very open and accomodating . My family generally are the closeted type always suspicious of any other tribe apart from yoruba but my in laws are totally different .

I am already cooking there traditional meals and i try very hard to greet them in their dialect with a bit of mine ( the kneeling down part). I fight my people every time to let them understand that they are isokos and not isobos as they call them sometimes . And i see the same on this forum and am like what the f**k is wrong with people and there superiority tribe thingy.
I think it's the Urhobos they call isobos.I don't think your family will change cos they seem deeply rooted in their perception of other tribes. You will have to be very patient and your husband should win them over by showing exemplary character.
Family › Re: Isoko- Yoruba Marriage by thorpido(m): 12:37pm On Jul 30, 2014
Are u one of the tribes going into a marriage with the other?
If I may ask which is your tribe.
Generally in inter-tribal marriages, liberality and acceptability is what matters. How open are the families towards people of other tribes?Education plays a strong role too. Each marriage can be judged only on it's own merit.

The people getting married also matter. You both need to develop a strong support for each other and be willing to integrate into each other's culture.Learn about it and try to be part of it.Also try to learn the language.

NgeneUkwenu: That is the difference between a Muslim and a Christian!
Can you explain this further?

I think it's more of a northerner compared to a southerner.Yoruba muslims will mourn their dead. There is a way northerners are raised that they have this kind of mindset/perception towards life.

Politics › Re: Pictures Of Ndigbo Muslims After Eid Prayer In Abia by thorpido(m): 1:42pm On Jul 28, 2014
NafeesaAA: Alhaji Onyeagocha and Alhaji Ude in Enugu are true Igbo Muslims. There are igbo muslims like there are yoruba muslims, chines muslims, arab muslims, Scottish muslims, french muslims et al. We should be matured in reasoning and arguing. Islam transcends tribes and races and islam is not exclusive to any tribe. Christianity as well is not exclusive to any tribe, the main reason why the igbos anre predominantly christian is due to the missionary works of the 19th and 20th century. There were no active islamic propagation in the igbo land during this era and that is the obvious. 90% of people take the religion of their parents in Nigeria and that is a fact.
So what stops the propagation now?Remember the fruits will convert people more than just mere words.Let the converters bear good fruits.

Christianity Etc › Re: ..the Best Place To Pay Tithe by thorpido(m): 10:51pm On Jul 26, 2014
PastorKun: Apart from the fact that there is nowhere in the bible that Isaac is associated with tithes, since when did Abraham, Isaac and Jacob become examples for Christians to followhuh As Christians we follow christ and nobody else.
Yea we follow Christ. How come Jesus Christ referred to the prophets when he taught the Jews? How come the bible speaks of us being the seeds of Abraham?
Like i said,I won't want to drag this further.Your comments only show holes in your knowledge of scriptures.
