It's so unfortunate that Fr Alia found himself in a political party populated by buccaneering power grabbers who are not interested in uplifting the living standard of the people they claim to represent

You are still pained that he used his influence to secure victory for APC in the Benue presidential election.

Despite all the religious warfare of Peter Obi, he could not even win Benue State.

I am sure Igbos know that they do not have the political skill and national goodwill to become President of Nigeria in this current generation.

Another generation of Igbos who have common sense would need to emerge for that to happen.

For a dying economy, taking over 1000 persons to a summit which we have less stake in, as in contribution to climate change and global warming is unnecessary and all men of goodwill should condemn it

How does it concern the Nigerian Government if private individual Nigerians want to attend a global summit?

Politics / Re: Nigeria At COP28: Separating The Facts From Fiction by Throwback: 12:32pm On Dec 03, 2023
What is evident is that this COP28 and all COPs are usually a global jamboree of some sorts, despite the serious purpose for which it came about.

Everyone goes there to feel important.

Many staff of global companies will not let us who are not political employees rest with all the pictures they will flood LinkedIn with, showing as as they pose for pictures with the high and mighty, and networking their way to that next career position ahead of those who are truly busy achieving silent results more than the noisy ones.

Rather than just get the job done, many have turned themselves to sociopolitical advocates, hopping from one global convention to another.

Guess what? That works super great for their career moves, driving all else without strength of character to want to duplicate the very pattern they have seen others achieve unmerited success.

Get ready for the Mecca type of delegates at COP29, as many more join the bandwagon.

It is certainly no surprise that Nigeria has the highest African contingent. Who else should it have been?

Let 's see how they sprout again

Lamentations of an Igbo.

Nobody gives war losers money in any part of the world, yet people always make a headway.

Those who lost wealth in the East to return to the North or West or MidWest, also sprout without getting any £20, yet they are not making cave man noises that they achieved something from nothing.

Nigerians too dey overdo things

Migration is as old as humanity itself....but Nigerias make it seem like it's the next gold rush. this wave of migrants just like others before them are just going into modern day slavery willingly

And it's not even the poor among us doing this....it's the people that already have more than most Nigerians.

Definitely it's not POVERTY that's fuelling the japa syndrome.
Neither is it unemployment.
It's the search for greener pastures
Doesn't mean the grass isn't green here

Very true.

I really pity those families who travel to the UK on an education visa.

Then end up being trapped in a system that extracts as much as they make, and continue to pay to remain in this nightmare with the hopes that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

5 to 6 years after, many still don't have any breakthrough or job security, and have to decide which of the couple would enrol for the next academic programme that extend their stay with the little money saved from the undignified jobs.

UK is very determined to scam Nigerians who have resolved that they would rather die trying to succeed in a country that does not allow success.

That country that does not allow success is UK, not Nigeria.

In all honesty INEC was better when Jega was a chairman but Babachir has locus standi to pointing accusing finger,he who comes into tequality must come with clean hands.

Better with inflated results from states?

This current INEC is better.

The electoral victories are more difficult for the winners.

Elections are now inconclusive because of the close ties between the leading and the 2nd runner up.
