Some entrepreneurs are very useless in the vocation they have elected for themselves. What I hate the most is having to pay for a useless service. I don't mince words when it comes to outlining my demands or expectations for the service I am requesting. God help that vendor that promises to deliver then fails. |
Guestlander:It was Kanu and IPOB's democratic right to prevent and threaten pastor Kumuyi from entering into Biafra. It was also an affront on Kanu's democratic right to prevent him from marching to Lagos or Kaduna, even if he had previously done same to others who were set to visit the Eastern part of the same country. A hypocrite like Kanu is always right. |
Guestlander:He was only exercising his democratic right in commanding his supporters under oath to burn down the country if he was lawfully arrested. He was also advancing democracy by promising them the head of a democratically elected leader of a country. As for those who believed in him and wasted their own lives, they only wasted a life that Kanu had already designated as collateral damage for his own ambitions. As for his parents whereabouts, that no one is asking after them is the proof you need that nobody is missing, and everyone is where they already planned to be if the roof caves in. |

More on the Nobel prize winners and their verdict of merit. The Nobel Prize in Literature 1993https://www.nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/literature/laureates/index.html |
PVision2020:The agony the Igbos feel on realising the feat of Wole Soyinka as a celebrated playwright who ticks all the boxes for the 3 genres of literature (Prose, Poetry, Play/Drama), consumes them to the point that they cannot hide the shame and defeat. To the Igbo, Literature is only about fictional prose, so since Achebe is a celebrated fictional writer, he ought to have won the Nobel prize before a Wole Soyinka who was a poetry and drama genius. They do not care that Soyinka is also a celebrated poet and playwright/dramatist who Achebe cannot measure up to. In fact, the reasons for the selection of each winner of the Nobel prize of all categories and all the years is written boldly on the website. The reason for Wole Soyinka's merit of the award is as stated below, but will our bitter and envious Igbos ever give up their bad belle? The Nobel Prize in Literature 1986So why are Igbos still besides themselves with grief and comparing a poetry and drama genius who also had footprints in prose, with their own fictional prose genius? I reckon Achebe's lack of versatility in Literature that Soyinka possessed, ensured he will not have the crowning glory that Soyinka accomplished for Africa. To them, the Igbos must have everything and everything any other Nigerian achieves, is a robbery perpetrated against the Igbo. The delusional belief is to even think that Achebe was being considered or was a runner up in the selection process for the 1986 award, such that if Soyinka was not selected, Achebe would have been the alternative. Adichie has never been a Pulitzer finalist talkless of even winning the Pulitzer like the Yoruba Journalist Dele Olojede who won it as the first African born winner of that also illustrious prize that has also eluded those who envy the Yoruba and have been determined to catch up with them. |
What most of us that revere Nobel Prize don't know is that the 'Nobel' is a European prize and NOT an African or a global prize. It shouldn't come to us as a surprise why Chinua Achebe who was no match to Wole Soyinka, failed to win the Nobel Prize.Only Igbos who had to catch up with Yorubas merits everything they get, every other Nigerian tribe cheated the Igbos to get whatever they have. A professor Kenneth Dike did not cheat a more senior Professor Oladele Ajose, who was the first African Professor to be appointed and most senior African on the Academic Board of University of Ibadan, for Dike to have become appointed as School Principal by an Igbo School Council Chairman. One day true to the words of Achebe on Igbo catchup with the Yorubas that were ahead, an Igbo will be found worthy to be recognised like Wole Soyinka who became the first African ever and the first black man to be awarded the Nobel prize for literature over 30yrs ago. That day, the envious Igbos who say the Nobel prize is nothing, will finally regard that prize seeing that an Igbo has also won it behind the Yorubas. |
BankeSmalls:But you were one of those mocking him when he used the turban earlier and declared it was the usurpation of Yorubaland by Fulani, hence your current guilty conscience that inspired your comment now. Everything you stated now as your fears, was the bigotry you spewed when he used the turban. So why are you now afraid of stories of the same kind you authored earlier? |
We must not allow the celebrity fad of bastards and baby mamma become the celebrated norm. What is shameful should remain shameful. What is shameful for the regular Joe and Jane, should be shameful for the notable and popular. A family starts with a marriage. |
This should carry a death sentence. |
Akanapiaigwe:Igbos live for the approval of Yorubas. That's what you have managed to communicate. |
fanpaul2:Today's evangelists prefer televangelism that is done in the presence of the rich. |
I wonder why televangelist never attempt to perform such live miracles when they go into the midst of the patients infected with such highly contagious illnesses? I wonder why they love to remain within the comfort of the civilized Christian world and pile up earthly riches, rather than venture into the dark and advance new frontiers for Christianity? |
MrCEO69:But they are names of Christian saints (canonized or not) as already stated. They are the ones who lived and preached the gospel post biblical era. Same as Irenaeus, Origen, Polycarp, Augustine. You should read up on them. |
goaldynman:It is even the first name that is important, but you are so consumed by your low self esteem to realise that the foreign culture of others is their local culture embraced by them while you relegate your own to the second. Even if we claim we bear those names as Christian/baptismal and lslamic names, just as the Europeans embraced it from the Hebrews/Jews, and Fulani Jihadist embraced it from the Arabs, for what reason do we now bear random foreign names like Aragon or Ragner? Is it for a reason superior to our own traditional names that you have accepted is not deserving to come first? |
laudate:Dey there dey Jones, na for your koro koro eyes the "refined" and "rich" and "enlightened" Nigerians will start naming their kids 21st century names. iboy and igirl. |
laudate:Truly, those with meaningless foreign names might even have traditional names, but it is the meaningless one that is flaunted. A name so meaningless that you can't even ascribe it to religion, so why the need for it? Don't forget to name your daughter Summer, and your son Forest. Then you can go gaga with the current madness that started with the likes of Tiger-Lily, Blue Ivy, and then Sir. LOL! |
Razael23:I have already opined that we suffer from religious slavery. That fact is known to all. Many cultures embraced names for the sake of religion, hence Europe adopted many Hebrew/Jewish names like John, Joseph, while the Muslim world also adopted Arabic names like Ibrahim, Farouk. All names which we here then embraced upon the acceptance of those faiths too. So there is no debate at all about how those of faith bear certain names for reason of faith. But we have now advanced even in cultural slavery to what kind of names we give our kids. Names that are clearly not of religious significance even for those who are religious, thus begging the question of why bear such names? Some even use names from folklores of Europeans, but will call their own cultural folklore as demonic. We fancy names of European locations but don't fancy our own cultural locations. I am not vexed at all, I have only made an opinion about a trend that seems not to wane anytime soon. As for Iskaba and Iskebe, they are as meaningless as I have already opined about some of those presumably "refined" and "rich" names. |
laudate:Are those words not similar to what FFK would use on a nice sunny day? Does he not allude to demonism and homophobia in most of his statements when fighting with his most hated adversaries? Even the ruthless Reno Omokri would not want to have any debate with a foul mouthed FFK who has no qualms swimming in the gutters to express himself. A fan is a fan. FFK got a true fan. |
laudate:Are you expecting any decency from a fan of FFK? Does she not give an impression of frustration that is evident in most statements of FFK? Will the insults communicate her opinion better? Has she not proven to be a gross hypocrite like the FFK that is given food to sing songs for those he has previously berated as clueless and finished? |
Ziggylady:There is no victory here. I have already used your own words to put you in your place. And I had already made my position on cultural slavery known to all Nigerians, who seem to appreciate the reasoning without the need to derail the thread into an ethnic battle that the thread and my post was never about. You introduced the bigotry into the discussion based on whatever prejudices you nurture. You should look at yourself with shame and try to fight your ethnic demons in private. |
laudate:Can you imagine how the airhead just roamed into the thread and started her Igbo this Igbo that Yoruba that nonsense on a topic of childbirth and post that was about lack of cultural awareness amongst Nigerians, and that was not in anyway tribal. The hypocrite even had the nerve to imply that politics should not exhibit bitterness, yet her own old posts are filled with political bitterness and ethnic bigotry that did not consider we are humans as she had preached. I ask again, are hypocrites still made this pure and unadulterated? |
Ziggylady:You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting. Go back to the drawing board and reinvent yourself. You are too lightweight to avail you of my time, and the enlightenment you will derive will not be merited. |
Ziggylady:I did not expect any fan of FFK to be sane or decent or not be a hypocrite. You were looking for a place to express your bigotry, and found this thread a natural habitat and derailed a topic into your usual unadulterated Igbo bigotry. Next time you want to express your bigotry, you will think twice before you engage me with hypocrisy. |
Ziggylady:I don't want you to change your mind. Rather I want you to see the hypocrite that your are. Your own past words have condemned you and got you so riled up as your conscience got pricked. I have already put you where I want you to be. Stick your head back in the gutter where you belong. |
Ziggylady:What is the reason for FFKs bile? Do you read any of his statements at all? That one is not a horror? No you were wrong because you could not appreciate political difference as not similar to tribal prejudice which you brought into this thread and implied that FFK was hated based on his tribe. I repeat, Yorubas are horrible to a horrible Yoruba called FFK for his political opinions and lack of decency in his expressions. But you love him because you agree with his politics of lies, McCarthyism, anarchism and his lack of decorum. Has anybody beguiled you for loving a man that agrees with your own political opinions and lack of decency in expression? What manner of hypocrite is this? What is the reason for your own bile that you have unleashed on this thread and derailed the topic? |
Ziggylady:I just checked your profile and just saw you describe yourself as "pure and unadulterated Igbo" Wow! I had not even checked when I typed that we Yorubas don't do the full blooded nonsense that some do. I reckon the FFK boys are now adulterated Igbos that would never truly be regarded by your type within the Igbo community even if their dad was Igbo and mum was the Yoruba? Anyway, Yorubas are not like you. We embrace our own as ours. Keep your Igbo bigotry to yourself. Ziggylady: Ziggylady:The two posts of yours above already gives one an insight into the ethnic bigot that you are and the political sycophant and bigot that you are, yet you dare to mention that everything is not politics and we should consider the human being. Are you for real? Do they still make these kind of 100% hypocrites in this era of imitation? CC: laudate |
Ziggylady:I repeat, get your head out of the gutters. I gave an opinion that is broadbased and not tribal. Your bigotry only let you see what you wanted to see as I already even suggested cultural names he could have used to continue with the tradition of naming his previous issue after locations in the world just like his first son Aragon. Guess what? I even suggested Nnewi having considered that the kids are as much Igbo as they are Yoruba. We Yorubas embrace our children. Nothing like the full blooded nonsense that some love to parrot. Keep your tribalism in your village. If there are Yorubas that have issues with FFK, is that a tribal prejudice against him or a political disagreement? We don't do Okoroawusa or Yorubakwe nonsense that you do in your enclave. Yorubas are horrible to FFK because he is a horrible nuisance. He opens his mouth and horribles flow out like a dam that gave way. That is the only talent he has for which he gets employed to play the same attack dog he is valued for. The kind of horribles he used to pen a lengthy write-up about Igbos that they all went speechless. I repeat, pocket your bigotry. It is not needed on this thread. |
laudate:She's not even the first to challenge my opinion, but she was the first to remember that she has issues with Yorubas. |
Ziggylady:This has become a Nigerian tribal affair to you? You could not even hide your true intentions that has no business with the topic or my discourse. Better you pull your head out of the gutters. What I have stated is an observation on how Nigerians consider themselves refined and settle for irrelevant names that are not even religion inspired,as long as they sound foreign. You just had to introduce your Yoruba prejudice into the discussion. |
danderson:Government funds are not budgeted by congress to fund their elections in the USA, except those who elect to limit themselves to the funding provided by law, and thereby not seek any further funds. This is a globally accepted definition of institutionalized corruption. |
Wow! Jonathan Christmas! Our world bank technocrat that couldn't resign from a wasteful, corrupt and clueless government. |

Tufiakwa!
The day that happens, it means the sorcerers in my village have been doing overtime work, at the market square. God forbid bad thing. Forget Tiger-Lily, Blue Ivy, or Sir. It will never happen!! Not in a million lifetimes.
I am very proud of my Nigerian name and each time I go abroad, the first thing people ask, is the meaning of the name. It is a great ice breaker.
I believe Nigerian names are too rich, too illustrious and quite spiritual. Some names are harbingers of fortune, and literally depict a person's destiny. Other names are prayers, or a reflection of what parents had to go through, at the time of the child's birth.
