Actually am not really getting your point bro, .....ok why not the country restructure into regions maybe 5. to accommodate your 4 airport suggestions. with due time all states in Nigeria would want to have an intl airport, also to coastal state having seaports. will you also to adopt this to USA, to have just 10 intl airport as big as she is?? or UK? lol don't get it twisted
I am saying that even the 4 well known international airports in Nigeria are well distributed and not overpopulated.

If we were an ethnically homogenous country, we won't be having most of these complaints. We just have this belief that our tribe has not been recognised as important yet that is why we did not have an international airport before or that is why the one we have is not viable.

Parochialism is our problem.

Anyone from Abia or Anambra or Enugu should be able to fly locally to Port Harcourt and fly internationally.

Just as some will fly locally from Sokoto or Taraba to Abuja or Kano to fly internationally.

Same way some will fly locally from Ekiti or Osun to Lagos to fly internationally.

The viable international airports are already well placed to handle the traffic out of / into Nigeria.

I repeat that our problem is tribal.

As for seaports, the topographical challenges that some of the other coastal ports have are well know, thereby limiting what vessels might come in. That has not stopped them from being operational and being useful within their capacity. Yorubas did not limit their capacity or prevented anyone from shipping to wherever they like among the coastal ports.

IGR from federal ports remain federal, and not benefitting the state in anyway, besides the strain it puts on the state roads who have to bear the traffic of trailers.

Lastly, Igbos should stop blaming Yorubas for whatever shortcomings they feel they have in Nigeria. We are not responsible for your problem and do not need to hold any one down to progress.

Why is Enugu having an international airport and Onitsha having a River port that would serve over 40 million people within the East (the most traveled Africans) and nearby areas a problem for you if you guys are not inherently wicked? I ask you again, what is the population of all those West African countries you mentioned earlier?? Continue showing the world how evil you lots are.
And who has stopped you and the most traveled Africans from using Enugu Airport?

Who has stopped your river ports?

Those with sea port are still asking for improved depth, you are asking for river port that will fly over the shallow seaport?

Thankgod Jonathan was president for 5 years without any Yoruba influence in his government.

None of the WestAfrican nations has our population which explains why we have 4 or 5 viable international airports while they have only 1. Or don't you understand?

Our airports do not suffer from excessive traffic and we don't even have an extensive landmass that might warrant littering the nation with international airports even if the traffic is low.

wait Oo, so as big as Nigeria, and how populated it is getting every day, you think this your daft point will help the country?? so you wished only 2 intl airport and 1 seaport will serve the whole Nation?? lol. that means you don't want other states to develop... you point r baseless.
receive sense
I have told you what we have already and the land mass that people have to cover is OK for the number we have.

4 international airports are very suitable for our population.

Is there only one seaport in Nigeria, or are you even blind to the topic of the thread? Must every coastal state have a seaport?

Must every state have airport and seaport to develop? What kind of twisted reasoning is this belief that international airport would suddenly bring development.

If there is no viability, the airport remains just a museum as many airports already are in Nigeria.

People just have this foolish belief that their tribe too must have an international airport or seaport.

Thankfully we have a SouthSouth man as minister of Transport overseeing both Airport and Seaport, if you cannot get any parochial compromises now, then it is better you perish your parochial thoughts forever.

Trash!! You are irredeemably du.mb indeed. What is the population of Benin republic, Togo, Ghana, Liberia etc on the ECOWAS you want to compare with Nigeria? Why would Lagos ports be too congested and the spill over going to Cotonou when a responsible government would have given incentive to importers for using other seaports in Nigeria other than Lagos? If having five international airports in Nigeria is too much for the country, then why not close Kano airports and let the Abuja airport serve the whole north since they don't even travel out except to go for hajj in Saudi Arabia? How is having a functional River port at Onitsha, one of West Africa's most commercial inclined cities a problem for you? Do you know that if each of the six regions should stand as individual countries that they would still be bigger than most of the countries in West Africa?? Would you comfortable if the Lagos seaports and airport were to be closed for any reason and you hypocritical lots from that end are told travel to Calabar before you could either travel out or import your goods when common sense will tell you that it's more convenient, less expensive, less risky, saves time etc for you to use the ones within your domain??
Your own problem is that you believe your village must have an international airport so you would not need to do any local travel. Same way state governments are all engaging in white elephant projects of building airports that are useless.

Is there no international airport in Port Harcourt. If you hate Lagos so much, who has prevented you and the airlines from flying through Port-Harcourt?

I already mentioned that there are 2 viable international airports in the North and 2 in the South. So why then are you suggesting that Kano be shut down so that you have only 1 in the North and 3 in the South?

Why didn't you suggest that the one in PortHarcourt be closed down so another can be opened in your village?

Even the most active airports are all in cosmopolitan cities and serve all Nigerians.

The ones that already exist, has the federal government managed it well?

Who ever said each region must have international airport? The ones available are already well spread.

Now that you have an international airport in Enugu, why are you still lamenting? If it is not viable, whose fault is it?

Finally, what stopped a Southerner Jonathan from attending to your grievances in a government that Igbos dominated?

Sports › Re: That Ridiculous Booing Of Dele Alli By Nigerian Fans During England Vs Nigeria by Throwback:
Dele is being booed by Nigerians because of his own attitude to his family, his English mother and his Nigerian father and his English half siblings. That he played for England is even a secondary factor.

He chose to cut away from his family and removed the Alli name from his jerseys to retain only Dele, with the excuse that he feels no connection to his family, not just his Nigerian dad.

This is a dude that got all the best of care from his father who wasn't always present, but was always supportive, and even brought him to live with him in Nigeria and the USA before he returned to the UK at age 11 on his own demand. He was even the best man of his father when he remarried in the USA when Dele was 10yrs old.

He also left his mother's home in UK some years later on the need to focus on a teenage football career far from home.

At no time was he ever prevented as a kid from pursuing the football career that has made him who he is now. Every time he felt the need to move as a kid, they let him reach for his dreams.

Even the dad has claimed that he bought him his 1st car as legal teenager. Yet he got into Tottenham and suddenly did not want to see or hear from any of his parents or English half siblings just like that, concluding his detachment by removing the family name from his jersey.

Dele is a confused dude who is ashamed of his whole family for reasons best known to him. His mother's alcoholism is no different from what is an already known epidemic among most lower class single mothers.

All of these stories are well known by Nigerians in the UK, hence the disgust.

That the PDP is a party of killers is not in doubt to Nigerians. Even you lamented that the era of political assassinations is back. All the notable political assassinations in Ekiti state were carried out in its PDP era. Fayose is a celebrated political killer in Ekiti state.

I already listed all the PDP stalwarts that came to that same Ekiti state when it was an APC state, and how they went there to cause actual mayhem and electoral fraud that was even recorded in audio.

I already mentioned how the same PDP as the federal government party then also ensured that APC stalwarts were not allowed into their own party's Ekiti state to monitor that same election that PDP had deployed ministers and army officers to capture.

And how has it voided the assertion that the police is a shameless force without any measure of professionalism?

Is it not shameless to claim it was an accidental discharge, as if that itself is acceptable?

I also hope you will update Lere Olayinka who was already jubilating all over the internet and made it a political issue?

Even you are still claiming he was sent there to cause mayhem because he came from an APC state with an APC governor, but when governors came from PDP states recently, you did not entertain your mayhem delusions?

Was this not the same mindset that you PDP sycophants celebrated when APC stalwarts were waylaid and prevented from going to an APC state to monitor an election in Ekiti state in 2014?

Did PDP stalwarts like Obanikoro as Minister, Minister of Police Affairs Alhaji Jelili Adesiyan, Sen Iyiola Omisore and specially recruited Army officers, not besiege the state with a recorded meeting of how Fayose specifically mentioned those from APC to be kept under arrest and were indeed arrested before the audio recording leaked? Did we not hear Obanikoro claim he was sent by the president to ensure victory at all cost, and how the career of the army officer was in his hands as the minister of state for defence?

Or do we forget so easily the mayhem unleashed in Rivers State by then Minister of State Wike, Patience Jonathan and police commissioner Matthew Mbu?
Was a Governor not prevented from entering his own office by policemen? Was a Governor not told by a police commissioner that his recruitment of 3000 teachers who were to be presented with their employment letter in a grand ceremony at the stadium, was a political strategy, and so must not hold.

Who ever said it was not a political strategy and how did it become the business of the police commissioner to dictate to a Governor what us political or not?

Even you are shameless with your partisanship, and your dying PDP was cancer we did well to get rid of.

I still enjoy how the head of the policeman was well battered.

I often laugh when I read statements from Igbos lumping the SS with their SE problem of no port or low port patronage.

I know for a fact that Onne port in Rivers State is ever busy, despite the dip that was due to the reduced oil and gas industry projects owing to the oil price slump. The port is available for those who claim they want to deny Lagos IGR, as though it is Lagos state that is operating the federal ports there.

Ignorant people just love to make fallacious assertions having observed same fallacy regurgitated by many.

It is only in Nigeria that we believe every state or tribe must have international airport, or that every coastal state must have sea port. Even those landlocked from the sea are claiming that they must have riverport, and that the sea port in Lagos is the reason their goal to have a river port has not garnered any traction.

Most countries in the world barely have more than 2 or 3 international airports.

Most of our WestAfrican neighbours only have 1 international airport. Yet we have people that lament that Lagos and Abuja have international airports, as though it was not due to their capital status, and then claim they are being marginalized and deliberately underdeveloped.

Nigeria also operate international flights from international airports in Kano and Port Harcourt. So are those 4 international airports not enough for this country, and are they not evenly spread enough, or international airport must also be a federal character principle?

How viable have those other international airports been when they were eventually upgraded to assuage tribal parochialism?

I am not an anarchist who delights when there is crisis in the country or when militants are sabotaging the economy or when terrorists are bombing and killing humans. I am not happy that Buhari failed, something that is typical with wailers from the very first day of this current administration.

Buhari has been finally tested after many attempts and the verdict is that he is a failure and a gross hypocrite who has failed even by mediocre standards when decent and hardworking people put in the work to get him elected and celebrated his victory as a rebirth of Nigeria.

Kingsley Moghalu, Fela Durotoye, and Omoyele Sowore are the types of candidates that a serious nation should be discussing. Every time we waste discussing APC and PDP at the national level, is time spent ensuring we would continue to be notable as a nation producing refugees for the rest of the sane world.

If Buhari had any modicum of dignity, he would retire quietly to face his health challenges in London with his own money, since even the state house clinic is still lacking drugs after all the budgeted funding by his own administration.

Apparently, we the people do not even think we deserve better than the likes of Buhari, Atiku, Sule Lamido etc.
