AcuraZDX: Half smart prick.
So Nigeria stopped existing in 1998/99? Your brain is so impervious to learning. Everyone who was not a kid in the 1990s have educated you over and over that the Abacha junta already terminated the existence of SDP and NRC, and all those who were already sworn into political offices like federal and state legislators and Governors. And that the transition programme of the Gen Abdulsalami Abubakar regime, only allowed the registration of new political parties, and not even the continuation of the new parties that the Abacha regime allowed, and who had already elected LGA officers and national assembly officers. The SDP that you have now is only a recent recreation after many years of democracy, that aligns with the manifesto of the former one. But you steadfastly and arrogantly hold on to your ignorance and bring shame to yourself. You are a waste of brain matter. Ordinary indomie noodles is what you have inside your skull. |

It is high time President Tinubu led the protest, because since he got his party to the Presidency in 2015, there have been no viable opposition in Nigeria.
Many politicians simply do not have the intelligence, the organizing brilliance, or the courage to lead and champion publicly the way Tinubu did. |

They've totally lost the ability to be objective. Greatest Nigerian problem. |

Kushites: So who did you support?
Atiku?
He also promised to remove subsidies!
Or maybe you supported Sowore or that other Igbo bank guy whose name I've forgotten.
None of those guys supported continued subsidy!
The govt was borrowing 10 billion dollars a year to pay them! I do not remember Sowore supported the removal of subsidy during his presidential campaign, unlike Tinubu, Atiku, and Obi.

I hope Lagosians protect this good man so that he will not be funshowilliamed. Good man Doherty, good man. PDP apsirants killed Funsho Williams, and after his wife was further cheated in the same PDP, his family fully supported AC and Fashola to defeat PDP in the gubernatorial election. Infact, the son of Funsho Williams served in the Fashola administration. Many of you have no factual knowledge of past events. Your fear should be what the other PDP aspirants will do to him. |

Brendaniel: Since you say it can come out better or worse why then did you choose worse for the both of them?
Since you are not sure don't conclude on their matter till they are president and they do it, that is like tasting one woman's food and claiming that all women's a must come out the same.
Wait till they are presidents before judging their own removal or leave them out of the matter and focus on Tinubu.... No it is insane to leave them out, unless you want to make the same mistake if you are not a supporter of subsidy removal. There is no time oil subsidy removal will be effected, that it would not lead to a steep increase in price of petroleum products. You need to accept this is a consequence of a policy decision, regardless of who effected that decision. They only question is if you support the policy or do not support the policy. |
Politics › Re: Hardship: Protesters Block Major Road Leading To Abuja(video) by Throwback: 6:12pm On Jul 29, 2024 |
madridguy: This is impressive. Tinubu must bring back the fuel subsidy. We cannot be buying fuel at high price, cooking gas is 1500 per Kg and the electricity tariff is unbearable yet both VAT and Import duty goes up every day.
Tinubu should not tax us to death. Within a year you removed every life lines we Nigerians are enjoying.
Bring back our subsidy Tinubu. I support you wholeheartedly. Subsidy removal must be predicated on sufficient local refining capacity, and cheap energy alternatives like constant electricity supply. A country that is so tied to fossil fuels for most energy needs and for national commerce, cannot expect the economy not to suffer an upheaval when subsidy removal would equate to fuel price increment in multiples of the previous price. The hypocrisy is when those who supported candidates who affirmed their support for subsidy removal immediately they assumed power, begin to campaign now that their own candidate would have been better at implementing the same policy at the same time, with the existing inadequacies that already existed. |

Brendaniel: So you are trying to say that because 3 wives claim they will cook for their husbands means the foods must come out the same way? So that is undefined because we all know it can come out better or come out worse. Candidates and their supporters who supported the removal of oil subsidy, or the free trading of the Naira in the forex market, have no useful opinion to give regarding the consequences of such policies. |

Brendaniel: But you were warned about Tinubu, and for the fuel subsidy, Tinubu is currently paying over 400 naira per litre for fuel subsidy ...
So I'm wondering how much you want him to pay that will bring the price down to even 400 naira... Did you warn yourself about Atiku or Peter Obi who campaigned to remove oil subsidy also? |
Politics › Re: FEC Orders NNPC To Sell Crude Oil To Dangote, Other Refineries In Naira by Throwback: 5:31pm On Jul 29, 2024 |
LegendHero: I think FG did the right thing for now. Dangote capacity is 650k bpd and FG is offering 450k bpd for the pilot and that is because that is what we consume locally.
Until we can increase our crude output to 2million bpd, I don't think FG should be subsidizing Dangote sales to other countries which will be the remaining 200k bpd.
To even think of it, Dangote refinery will not be operating at full capacity for the next few months so he can still utilize that 450k for now. Remember we also have other crude commitments and we also need forex from crude that we export in $$. You have said it all. The concession is for the quantity we consume in Nigeria. That is what our government should be responsible for. |

In the same vein, here in Nigeria, we recall the devastating experience of the #EndSARS protest, which was initially peaceful but later hijacked by elements with ulterior motives. The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and other groups exploited the situation, leading to widespread violence, destruction of property, and loss of lives. We cannot afford to repeat such a scenario in Northern Nigeria. |
