Bro, let's be honest here. There's nothing like north and south in Nigeria. What we have is 6 Geo-political zones and on normal levels each of them suppose to have a shot at the presidency.
But working with what we might have in hand in 2027, for the mutal benefit of all I suggested the President and his VP should be given to the minority tribes from Middle-belt and Benin people. But if they want to play politics, then Goodluck Jonathan and his VP should be given a return ticket.

APC defeated PDP in 2015 despite the fact that PDP govt was the one funding INEC. PDP would have defeated APC in this year election if they didn't split into LP, PDP, NNPP and G5. And APC wouldn't have been able to do anything about it

The only way the merge can balance very well, if they chose from minority tribes in Nigeria like Middle-belt and Benin or from South-South. Both President and VP should be from the minority. This is to cushion the effect of tribalism amongst the 3 major ethnic groups in Nigeria.
Another solution is if they can present a popular Yoruba candidate and back him up with a VP from SE.
South East/ South South votes is sure. Votes from SW will be divided BTW Tinubu and the said candidate.
Votes from Middle best will also be divided including the one from Noth with might swing in any direction considering the plight of suffering they are facing now.
