In the year 1973, A civil servant, John Hutchinson had taken few pictures of London which had threatened a serious changes. He had a fear that the Victorian building which had survived during the Second world war will be lost forever, so he had taken those pictures. Now almost after 40 years of time we can see how london has changed by comparing old and new images. The Coliseum theatre in london was designed by Frank MatchMan For Sir Oswald Stoll. He had an ambition that this place should be the largest and the finest “People’s Palace of Entertainment” of that time. This Picture tells about the difference of Coliseum theatre on St. Martin lane in the year 1973 and the theatre now (2nd pic) The Piccadilly Theatre, as its name suggests, is located in the Piccadilly district of London’s West End. It is One of the largest theatres when it first opened in the year 1928. This tells us about the changes that have taken place in the streets of london.(3rd pic)

No doubt both of them are latest Nigerian heroines that will go down in history of the country, but who would you say 'heroined' it most in the two? |
Being a Nigerian could be exhaustively frustrating, as well as fun and fulfilling. The daily activities of both Nigerian gender has been greatly influenced by the Nigerian culture and orientation passed on to innocent new generation ('abalaye' as my yoruba folks will term it). Here are some of the advantages as well as disadvantages of dwelling in this nation as a nigerian... 1) Wee-wee As a nigerian man you get to go round a corner and water the ground while the whole world continues to rotate, as long as u watch out for 'juju scare' or 'do not urinate here', most nigerian men are at liberty to wee-wee anywhere on the streets, no time!!! As a nigerian lady wee-weeing can seem an herculean task, after your make-up and 'sweet lady' look,it becomes scary when you bend at that corner and obey the clarion (sorry, nature) call. It is expected the lady searches for an eatery or somewhere that has a good convenience. Angry aangry!!! 2) Financial worries As a nigerian guy, your immediate source of finance is largely limited to you. You might most likely end up having too many liabilities (am referring to most, not all),you buy recharge cards for your babes, pay your rent, buy phones for your loved ones, your babes birthday, val around da corner...numerous financial worries for a naija guy (most end up bald).chai, diaris goddu o... As per naija babe, your worries are largely limited, somehow, the first task of a nigerian lady (just springing up) is to source for financial backings, this does not necessarily translate to sugar daddies or boyfriends, family members are not spared there is always an uncle or a cousin somewhere that is handy for quick recharge card or birthday bash quid. Naija ladies know how to psyche and whine their way to innocent money hustling men. 3)On the streets Somehow, nigerian men face thicker challenges on the street out there, its a war out there. As a man, you need to be extra ordinarily careful on the street, if you talk pass yourself or misdo, na straight yawa, be it conductor, police or any place, you must try nd avoid brawls else you go fear fear As a naija babe you can get away with some (otherwise, criminal acts if committed by a guy) things and easily forgiven. We have seen a lot of cases whereby a woman slaps even an officer and gets away with it. 4)Street wise Due to the way many of our streets are, naija men are more talented with street movement. Jumping puddles, manoeuvring cleverly, and making precise (or near) decision when driving, etc. This is largely due to their dressing ( as it aids more movement) and their hustling spirit against time. Naija gals are less talented on the street. Movement on the street is largely restricted to their dressing, they are less clever in decision making with regards to quick judgement (especially in driving) they also tend to be very focused on themselves while on the streets. 5)Sensuality A naija man is ever so ready to explore, to fullest potentials, bed activity.he is ready to try new things, and ever willing to satisfy his hunger. A naija man is a 'more honest' lover in bed. A naija lady doe's not want to be seen cheap, so mostly she hides her burning desire from her man,it is left for the man to find out,or cajole her into being 'bed active'. She generally wants to be pushed into doing it, trying to deceive her man that she is only doing it for him. What do you think Add yours... |

Where is the bomb blast? *sips alomo* |
Just yesterday I was driving down from abuja (on my way to lagos), I got to ibadan around 9 pm so I decided to stay in a hotel (and kukuma continue the journey the next day). I went to a hotel around iwo road axis (name withheld), got my self fish pepper soup and relaxed with a cold bottle of udeme. Called my wife dat I was gonna come d next day, paid money (3500 ooo) of a room to the hotel assistant (one small boy like 18 yrs) who was grinning and keenly took me to the room,I followed. It was an upstairs hotel and d room was located at the end of a very dark corridor. When I entered I immediately noticed a stench smell, and, alas! A huge rat ran towards us (as if to tell us to move out) but the boy was not to be outwitted. A stick landed on the rats head (that was now at the back of something that looked like a table). I checked the time, twas 11.30,no other place to go for now,I resigned to fate and tried to lie down(really tried, I was scared of the beddings).I looked at the curtain and wondered if it had ever been washed, I was scared of reprisal attack from the rats family, somehow,I fell asleep(oblivious of the worse that was coming). I woke up (like as if I was in the middle of a bomb blast) like 30 mins and started fearing for my life, the bed bug family had launched full attack on my (now inflamed) back. O boy. I grabbed the beddings (after a hard time believing I actually paid money for the room,3500 ooo) dropped it on the floor, and went to sleep. Some how, the rats family assembled (or maybe I was on their assembly ground) and started unleashing their wrath on poor me. My sleep was interrupted every other 5 mins. I was at a crossroad, eventually,I opted out for the 'mr and mrs bed bug'. I was quickly reminded of their merciless attacks. I later kukuma sat on the wooden stuff (dat looked like a table). I wondered if I was kidnapped or something. I later removed the mattress, and kept the beddings on just the wooden frame and slept on it. (By now I was seriously looking at the time. By the time I heard (or tut I heard) the first cock crowed, I just grabbed my car keys.I left ib like 3.30 am,my wife was shocked to find me beside her (sleeping soundly *hugging the pillow*) when she woke up. She laughed at me when she eventually heard the story. Story that touches my heart gan gan. My 3500. They should pay me for surviving some hours in that room. I still tremble when I rmbr that night (yesterday/this morning o) feel free to share your bad hotel experience, that was mine.... |
@ joel if u aint a believer, guess its gonna be hard to explain, lot of atheist out there trying to judge God with earthly wisdom, think of it this way; there is nothing like space, nothing like universe,(man's stupidity), there is just God(spoken as a xtian though). I wish u luck in unravelling the unfathomable... |

How sad is that day for me when i was driving back from work and i was approaching ebutte junction (ikorodu, coming from VON), i saw on the other side of the road, a man badly beaten. he was said to be a thief (Heaven knows what he stole). he was unconscious, another man ran towards him and broke a plank on his head, at this point i stopped the car and i wanted to go help him out, the car in my back was hooting and my colleague discouraged me from going saying that things could get messy. i drove right to the junction (where there was a police woman) and informed the police woman about the situation. you need to see the look on her face (like who cares?), i drove home feeling very empty and sad. i just could not let out the replay of that very scene, i felt so insecure, this happened like a month ago. the second day,I walked there to inquire if the dude was killed or not,no body opened up. the only good thing is that i did not see any dead body on the road, so i consoled my self that he must have been taken to the hospital. i pass there every day and the scene pops up in my head, i see those people around there as vampires. or how can we explain how a person will wake up from his bed hoping to catch a thief so that he can beat and burn them half dead? or how do we explain where the tyres, planks and petrol come from if nobody has been anxious to kill? we have people that are worst than boko haram living among us, i tell you!!! |
