ChristoBam:Who wins all there 50-50 in reality. Even Peter crouch looses aerial 50 50 balls. You can't win it all bro, even if you're tall like NEPA pole. You people have allowed pundits like Carragher get into your heads about something insignificant that you've now started micro watching your players for any little thing they do wrong, especially when it's not a regular mistake. Martinez has the best attributes any one could wish for in a defender, but you guys now focus on the least tangible thing to focus on. A player needs good positioning, awareness and reading of the game. Even if you are 7ft tall and you lack some of these things, you'll practically be getting turned in every game. If you doubt me, ask Maguire. There's a reason diminutive players like bernado silva, Messi, Iniesta, Insigne and so much more players boss big and giant players on the field because of their pure footballing intelligence. |
Jodera:LoL , e shock me too. May be for the national team sha. But I still doubt it, because he's always an advanced midfielder for his national team as well, |
DeadPresidents:Yeah, his best bet will be Italy. Those ones don't give a f*CK about anything, as long as he plays well |
Jodera:Lars Schone was the DM for Ajax when De jong was there |
afrodoc2:The guy just lost motivation after receiving that big contract at PSG. |
raumdeuter:View it like this. Blind people compensate for their blindness with a very sharp and acute sense of hearing and sensitive touch. Someone that is not blind will not have that extra sensitivity. A short CB who has been playing that position for year, would not have made it this far in his career, if he didn't compensate for that disadvantage by having excellent jump power, good sense of positioning to snuff out danger and great awareness. That is why over the years, these so called "Short" CBs are usually fast, agile and usually have good awarenesses of the dangers in their surrounding. The likes of Mascherano, cannavaro et al, usually have this traits in common. It's nature's way of complementing for that short coming. So smart people should know by now that height should not be a thing of concern |
Idiko1:It's as a result of poor football development and upbringing. Most Nigerian footballers , male or female of any age didn't start from a proper football academy where the basics are taught till, they were very mature and no more malleable. Most of them play street football till their early or mid 20s and those shitty trait is an Hallmark of street football, and not professional football. When some of them get to play in a proper professional setting, some adapt themselves and correct that error, but a lot of times, majority are far too gone to be able to be corrected. |
Expert17:Are you minding them. That is how you know people who don't understand the game. There are lot of tall useless defenders out there and there are lot of good short defender out there. Kounde that they(Chelsea) were after is not tall either, but he's a defending beast as well. No be by height. The same bias used to exist for Goalkeepers 8n the past, where they usually go for the tallest ones, but that mentality has changed in the last decade. Now guys like Yan Sommer, Manuel Neur etc has shown that it's not by height either, as evidenced by useless Goalkeepers like de gea who are tall but useless in claiming crosses and in aerial battles |
afrodoc2:If not that the fools at the club gave him an outrageous contract with bug salary, this should have been the best time to cash out on Rashford. Notingham forest will pay us at least 40m for him. ![]() Rashford career has peaked and his 9n the decline, just like what happened to dele Ali. He won't get better playing for United because the pressure is even worse now than 2 years ago. |
eph12:LoL. If they give some people in this thread control of this club for 1 season, we'll be in the championship before game week 30 ![]() The academy suggestion will probably even make a Little tiny bit of sense if these guys dominate their peers truly |
larride:LoL..The thing is that they are not buying anyone. They are just feeding the media BS to make it look like they are busy. Transfer is not rocket science. Whenever they are actually ready to sign players, they can do it in 2 to 3 days. Negotiation and finalizing of transfers for Malacia , Martinez and Erikson didn't last for more than 3 to 4 days when we showed interest for signing these players back then. If it's taking this long, it means they aren't doing anything in the first place. Especially in transfers where there is no price dispute from the selling club. It's straight foward |
melodyogonna:I swear to God, they would do it. Given their history, I won't put it past them. |
Searchingvictor:Normally, he can still play, since he's not been charged yet and he's in bail. But they are keeping him out due to optics. Well, our image is dead in the water already, let them kukuma bring back Greenwood. The news will only run it for 2 to 3 weeks max and the news cycle will move on afterwards. I'll take a one legged and selfish Greenwood over Elanga abeg ![]() The only reason Greenwood is acused for being selfish is that he creates chances out of nothing. And those occasion pop shots helps in unsettling opposition defense |
Angelfrost:No Tithing is probably false as well. They just probably decided to focus on the profitable lie, which is tithing ![]() |
The fact that this fish does this actually gives credence to the theory of evolution, about Land Animals including man originating from water, as aquatic animals. If this particular fish doesn't go extinct, in a few million years from now, it could fully evolve into an animal that lives on land fully |
ChristoBam:Simple answer. I Remember AC Milan wanting to sign him permanently after his loan spell there. Dalot alone can get us something close to what we got for Daniel James in transfer fee. But Wan bissaka won't get anywhere near. |
dammywapes:Well, ETH is new to the club and players in the club , so I won't blame him much in trusting these guys because tbf to him, Mcfred didn't do badly in pre season However, many fans that have followed the team's preseason for the last 3 seasons saw this coming. Because normally they usually do well in pre season, playing beautiful pattern of football, but they usually turn to shit as soon as season starts. There is a reason Andreas Pereira was named famously as pre season Pirlo ![]() In conclusion, I think the set of player currently masquerading as man Utd players lack the mental strength to deal with the pressure of being a man united players, hence , they buckle under pressure. The evidence is in the fact that they only do well in pre season where there was nothing at stake, as well as in empty stadiums. |
afrodoc2:name the 4 or 5 left wingers we have. ![]() And don't mention Elanga, chong or Garnacho. The only player we have at LW is Rashford who has suddenly forgotten how to play football in the last 18 months. We need depth there. The likes of Chong and Elanga should be sold/loaned. Garnacho needs another full season of U23. He doesn't have the dawg in him like Greenwood, so he shouldn't get Greenwood kind of accelerated promotion. |
Chelsea just sold Werner for about 25m He was a flop for them and they are getting rid of him after 2 seasons without dily dalying and before his value drops to much to the point he becomes a deadwood and can't attract decent fee. and will probably move on with another winger. Harvertz would probably be next but champions league final goal tax is still keeping him at the club. That is the difference between Chelsea and Man Utd over the years. |
nani667:The thing is the likes of ETH , Ole, etc don't have the pedigree or achievements the likes of conte , Mourinho , etc command. Those guys will always behave like puppets because that's their first high paying jobs in their coaching careers. So they will always, want to massage the egos of their employers and demand less from the owners in terms of spending. Whereas the likes of Mourinho, Conte don't give a shit about the feelings of the owners. They will say their mind because their records speaks for them. |
BikeMan:Yes. But the consequence of not spending especially in a league like the EPL is even worse, especially when mid table teams like Aston Villa etc, are capable of spending 150m at a go in a transfer window. At least when we spent under good coaches were made the occasional top 4 as well as the odd cup wins. Ole was the only outlier, even he himself was very close to winning the odd cup. |
maik99:He can always improvise. Play Bruno and Eriksen as wide CMs with Garner or savage, who are traditional DMs and understand how to play the position better than Mcfred in between them. Ditch Maguire and play any two Baily, Varane, Lindelof, Martinez who are adept at highlines. We keep possession more to reduce defensive load. It might sound like I'm Analysing a FIFA game , but he might need to experiment, who knows , he might hit a jackpot concerning the midfield issues we have. ![]() It's easier said than done but he has to do something concerning that midfield bruv ![]() |
patrickmuf:One good thing about today's results is thelat the usual culprits (Mcfrd, Shaw, Rashford et al) showed their hands early in the season, so may be they will back the coach between now and end end of the transfer window as well as January Because if history is to be followed, those idiots who own the club only react during crisis. They are never proactive I'm avoiding one |
kifeyous:It's the reason why our net spend is very high over the years. Unlike Man Utd , Chelsea and Man City move useless players on very fast either by loan or outright sales after 2 or 3 seasons max of being useless to the team. That is what makes them recoup see of the transfer fees spent, thereby lowering their net spend. |
patrickmuf:I won't blame the coach yet for Mctominay display today. The coach will only get the blame if there's no consequence for player's stupidity like during Ole's days where underperforming players keep getting played every week, that is when it's no more Mctominay being a useless player but the coach being stupid |
BikeMan:LoL. It's definitely the players. We've changed coach 3 times in two years while maintaining the same core of starting 11 players. The conclusion is logical. |
When Rangnick said we needed at least 10 new players to even start competing, they said his mouth was smelling and sent him packing. I'm tired I swear ![]() |
forgiveness:It's a lose- lose situation for us(Nigeria) though. If he does well at Chelsea and break out to be a star, he's never playing for us and will play for England, with the FA rushing to tie him down. But if he doesn't do well according to the hype , well we may end up getting him at may be age 25 and above when there's no more hope of playing for England, meaning that we'll be getting a washed up average player who will never be world class and won't improve our team like we hope. This is always my thoughts about every foreign born player we get. Most of them are no different from our home grown guys, quality wise , only difference is just exposure. Our best bet of having world class players is intensifying the programs that gave us above average players like Ndidi and Osimhen. And along the line we might have 2-3 world class among them as well as a lot of above average players to support. But after 2015, the NFF has slowed down with the age group, now the players we are producing can't even get into decent European team or leagues , let alone developing into above average players |
tishbite42:It definitely will Affect Korea and Japan , if a war breaks out. Because those two countries are the closest to China and from the logistics point of view, they are the best place for USA to launch an attack on China from, because those two countries are literarily the US colony, they are currently not independent. Which means , those countries automatically become part of the war. |
isan:That's why she's always running like a pregnant woman to chase an attacking player in transition. A combo of Old age and not being match fit due to inactivity. Terrible combination. ![]() |
Sportsweb:LoL. People think , Braithwhite became rich with all those properties by being nice? They better pay up |
TrebleChamp:Bold of you to assume ETH wants him in the team. From a football and rebuilding stand point, ETH like other coaches currently will reject him. From the commercial stand point, the Board will want him to stay so hey can milk another commercial revenue out of him for another year , at least to recoup the transfer fee and wages they spent on the werey as well as make little profit out of it. ![]() |
