airmark: [s]None of these players have played league matches in Anfield without experiencing at least a loss. VVD never lost a league match in Anfield, let that sink in.
After VVD's injury,
Your Keita played at Anfield when Fulham flogged them.
Your Hendo played at Anfield when Everton slaughtered them.
Your Fabinho and Matip played at Anfield when Burnley slayed them.
Bring another one from your bag of excuses.[/s] Your VVD played against Villa Park when Aston Villa demolished them. That's the koko of the matter. All these your slaughtered, flogged, slayed, which of them is more than 2 goals? If one or 2 goals is slaughtered flogged or slayed, what will 7 goals be? |

airmark: [s]Below is the reason.
Since VVD joined Liverpool, they have never lost as many games as they have done this season in his absence.
Have you not seen the impact of his absence yet or you need a smartview video magnifier?[/s] When ONLY VVD was missing, Liverpool improved in the log. They only started slipping when OTHER players went off injured. Players like Gomez, Matip, Hendo, Fabinho, Kaita etc etc. Mention me when Liverpool concede 7 or more goals in a match with Alisson in the pitch. |

Contact from KwP came after the ball has been released I didn't watch the match. I'll watch the highlight and revert. Meanwhile why was the Werner incident overlooked? Was it a penalty or not? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 7:12pm On Apr 04, 2021 |
afrodoc: It was a yellow card offence. He crashed into the guy after the ball had left his feet. It was a late and dangerous tackle which while not really reckless was at least unsporting and deserving of a yellow card. The fact that the ball was no where near the player when he hit him actually makes the tackle worse.
VAR calls for reviews only for OBVIOUS errors made by the referee. That was not an obvious error, and in fact was no error at all. I wanted to ask you of the Werner incident earlier but I see BlueMann and you have done that already. My point is, that foul shouldn't be a card. Silva clearly went for the ball which he missed and didn't make contact with that tackle. The only contact was his trailing left leg. It was clearly unintentional. Why branding a yellow card? Good thing you admitted the inconsistency of VAR. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 12:51pm On Apr 04, 2021 |
Expert17: I don't understand....so you can't get a yellow card for a follow-through tackle or off-the-ball challenges ? The only contact made was Silva's left leg which was trailing. He had no control over that because his stretch left him sliding... From the referee's angle, he wouldn't have seen it. I expected VAR to call for a review. If you watch the replays from the camera in the corner kick/throw in angle, you will see that Silva's right leg never made contact. It was his trailing left leg... And it never determined the outcome of the shot. |

Where is that guy who said Silva went into the tackle with both legs?
This is not a card offence. At the point of this image, the West Brom player have already taken the shot...

FBS: Well selecting Silva proved to be a mistake. I personally don't care about clean sheets and all, as long as we score more goals. The boys were nervous from the onset and then escalated when Silva got the red card. That is pretty obvious. The coach will always be the first person to either take the blame or praise. Just imagine for a second that he was able to turn this around, do you think he will not be talked about for another week?
Everything I have said is similar to what Tuchel himself said.
Nna men, Leeds dey play some sweet ball sha. Poor Sheffield. Silva will play against Porto. Just prepare your mind for that. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 3:11pm On Apr 03, 2021 |
FBS: Both. Selecting Silva proved not be a smart decision. It could have been different but not today. I would have thought he would continue with the players that were performing but for whatever reasons he didn't.
Is Azpi the manager? Coaching the boys his part of his job. He mentioned this in his post match interview.
Porto next. That's the koko. Selecting Silva isn't a mistake. I mean, who would guess the match would turn out like this? If we had played out a goalless draw or we win with a clean sheet, will you come out and say Tuchel made a mistake selecting Silva? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 3:06pm On Apr 03, 2021 |
A40: I've been meaning to ask. Besides scoring awoof penalties what does Jorginho actually do on a football pitch? He's basically a Brazilian Mikel with no defensive nous. With mids like Jorginho and Kovacic I don't see how Chelsea ever get to compete against truly good teams Jorginho dictates the tempo of the game. And to be fair to him, he has done this well since Tuchel came on board. He has this understanding with Kovacic which helps our midfield lately. Today is just a bad bad day at the office. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 3:04pm On Apr 03, 2021 |
FBS: The plan did not include coaching the boys how to react to going a man down. They just couldn't deal with it. Tuchel himself acknowledged this. That's his job. I could think of 5 players that played even worse than James.
Tuchel is the coach not the players. This was your first blame on Tuchel that I questioned FBS: Tuchel has to shoulder the result for the 1st half. He's altered what already works. I'm hoping that he is able to turn this around. Blaming him for not coaching the boys how to react to going a man down is quite different from blaming him for altering what already works. These are professional players. Azpi is the captain and a veteran in the heart of defence. Can't he organise the boys that moment the pressure was on, before any instructions from the coach comes, if any? |

Unlimited22: Senior man, to be fair, the minute we went down to 10 men, we started playing like we were pissed up on vodka.
The coach has to stabilise the team and change tactics and personnel according to scenarios unfolding He has been excellent at that prior to today. It was just a bad day at the office for all concerned. I'm just a bit happier that it's happened here and not against Porto because there would have been no way back He actually tweaked the tactics. After going a man down, James started playing more like the 3rd man in the midfield while still playing RWB..... The 3 at the back was suppose to continue doing their thing, holding it down like they usually does while James help out in midfield. Oh well...its an L for us. We move. @bolded ...exactly my thoughts. We should learn from this loss moving on. |

Expert17: @bolded, I agree.
But I think he lost possession that led to Silva's red card. He actually mopped only for Jorginhonto spoil it. Kovacic was our best player in the pitch. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 2:44pm On Apr 03, 2021 |
FBS: Just the same way he gets the praise if and when we win. This is normal.
It's as if the players didn't know what to do when they went down to 10 men. That's the work of the coach.
3 points lost.
We move. You don't blame a coach when he clearly have a game plan that is working for him and a starting 11 that should deliver all 3 points but the players decided to self destruct. Just looks at James in that second goal. Go watch it again...Dude had a poor 1st half and came in second half worst. |
