I downloaded my statement of account for yesterday now and discovered that the reversed transaction is actually for another person I sent money to who was not amongst the winners here. The person contacted me also this morning, I actually thought he was lying until I went through the account statement.

I have the receipt of successful transfer to the previous account you provided (I can provide as proof for everyone to verify on request). I am not sure why you would provide another account to get paid again

In the spirit of the season, I will be doing some giveaways (Please see Topic title) in the next few days before Christmas in order to allow those that need aid in this season to buy some stuff to celebrate Christmas with their loved ones.

The criteria for qualifying is:
1. Write in a short sentence what Christmas means to you.
2. Your Nairaland account must be at least a year old.
3. Please make sure you actually need the aid. It is more blessed to give than to receive.

I will randomly pick people on the thread and announce winners before Christmas. The people picked can paste their account number/Phone numbers here.

I know some of you might be wondering how I picked the winners since there are many posts on this thread and everyone's answer is actually correct.
I wrote a code snippet to list all unique Nairaland usernames on each page of this thread and to randomly pick users for each page. Three users each from page 1 to 3 and one user on page 4 (Since page 4 does not have much posts as at the time of writing this).
Please understand that I cannot go through each person's answer and my aim is to be as transparent as possible which is why I used a script to pick the winners.

I have decided to limit the giveaway on this thread to cash gifts only for now. I might open another thread for the data later.

JFYI, I was asked to bring payslip to verify one of my past foreign work experiences. So anyone who is applying or has applied for a blue card visa should bear in mind that they can ask for you to provide bank statements to verify your work experience

Good evening folks, I would like some candid advice:
I applied for a visa via the skilled immigrant act; I had my interview on the 29th of July and I was sent a mail to send my travel health insurance on the 5th of September, which i did on the 6th and via the DHL tracking ID, It's updated that the document was delivered on the 7th of September. I was told to select a travel date not sooner than 7 days, so i was expecting the documents to be back within the time-frame. But up until now i am yet to get my passport and original documents back. Please does anyone have an idea what's the longest time it takes to have my documents back. I have written to the embassy and had my HR also write to them but it's been tone deaf response. When i try to check if my documents have been shipped via the DHL tracking ID i was given when i submitted my passport at the embassy, there has been no update. can i go to the embassy myself to collect my passport and other documents back? do I still wait it out?

Patience is the name of the game bro. Just be patient, you'll get your documents delivered by DHL soon, just keep trying to track the package with the tracking number and you'll know when it has been dispatched.

I have a couple of questions, I will really appreciate if it is answered.

My company applied for pre-approval some weeks back but we got a letter from Federal Employment Agency that I don't need pre-approval because I qualify for Blue card. I went on to apply for blue card appointment and I did my interview two weeks ago. Now the problem is I can't get an appointment date for my wife because I applied to blue card and not via the skilled immigration act category. I urged my Employer to try to apply for pre-approval for me once again on the basis that my wife needs it to get a faster appointment date but they are a bit reluctant to do that, They advised I get to Germany first and try to reapply for pre-approval. Now my questions:-

1) is it possible to apply again for pre-approval when I get to Germany ?
2) Is there anyone who has experienced this problem ( Pre-approval denied because of blue card qualification ) and was still able to get a faster appointment date for their spouse?
3) Is it possible to apply again for pre-approval by myself ?
4) I have booked a family reunion appointment for my wife, it takes a year as we know. Is it possible to get her a visit visa while awaiting an appointment date for family reunion ? If yes how long does it take to get an appointment for visit visa ?

1. No you can't apply for pre-approval when you get to Germany. The pre-approval is meant to facilitate your easy access into Germany and if you are there already, then you don't need the pre-approval again technically.
2. I've not experienced that before, that's really strange. I went through the same process and got a pre-approval in addition to qualifying for a blue card.
3. I think the law states that the company has to apply on your behalf but I've read here that some people applied by themselves, maybe something changed and they can point you in the right direction with regards to this.
4. I don't think that would be easy or possible, they would have your wife's record on file and might not grant her the visit visa, someone also mentioned this on this thread sometimes back, can't find the particular page.

Other contributions from other people who did the pre-approval process recently will be nice.

Hey bro. I think most entry restrictions have been lifted and you don't even need a vaccination card (Please bring it along anyways).

From what I observed, recognition of certificate plus pre-approval letter makes work visa easier and faster x2.
