Zidane became the first coach to win a third straight European Cup when Real beat Liverpool 3-1 on Saturday, capping a remarkable period in his first job in senior club management.
"I love this club a lot, the president, who gave me everything - to play first at this great club. I'll always be thankful. Today I need to change, for me, for everyone, for this I've taken the decision," Zidane added.
Balague now thinks Zidane could be in line to become the next manager of France.
He added: “I don’t think he will retire as a manager. He has the idea of being national team coach of France and I’m sure that will happen.
“If things don’t work in a direction he wants, he senses that he’s not tired of a manager. He senses players need something new, a new voice.
“They have won a lot, someone else has to lead them now.”
The Frenchman took over a divided dressing room after the sacking of Rafael Benitez in January, 2016 and immediately set about uniting the squad.
He claimed the first of his hat-trick of European triumphs two years ago when Real defeated local rivals Atletico Madrid on penalties in the final. A year later he led Real to their first European Cup and La Liga double in 59 years.
Real finished three points ahead of Barcelona as they won their first league title since 2012 before crushing Juventus 4-1 in the Champions League final to become the first side to win the competition in its current format in back-to-back seasons.
Zidane won nine major honours as Real coach and the 45-year-old's crowning glory came last Saturday as he joined an elite group of managers including Bob Paisley and Carlo Ancelotti by lifting the European Cup for the third time as coach.

Consequently, Abramovich decided to leave the country and take up citizenship of Israeli, where he is eligible to live due to the Law of Return which allows followers of the Jewish faith to move to the country.
“Roman Abramovich arrived at the Israeli embassy in Moscow like any other person. He filed a request to receive an immigration permit, his documents were checked according to the Law of Return, and he was indeed found eligible,” a spokesperson told Israeli television station Channel 10.
The Chelsea owner, who was previously a resident of Jersey in the Channel Islands, will be eligible for 10 years of tax-free status in Israel, during which time he will not need to declare the source of his income.

The Shoremi family from Ogun state has disowned Shalom Shoremi, one of its daughter, for seeking to get married to a woman.

In a newspaper advertorial, the family announced that it had severed all ties with Shalom.

Shalom had reportedly approached a federal marriage registry for approval to consummate her marriage to her partner.

At the maiden South-West Nigeria Education Awards event recently held at the University of Ibadan, the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, was adjudged the Most Outstanding Public University in the geo-political zone, beating UI to clinch the prize.

Also, the outstanding lecturers, polytechnic, state and private universities were announced at the event. Among the winners of the outstanding lecturers award at the event, which was organised by Excellent Media Group, were the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, OAU, Prof Durotoluwa Oyedele; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Oye-Ekiti, Prof Abayomi Fasina; and Dr Tomi Alade of the University of Lagos.

While Pastor Enoch Adeboye of The Redeemed Christian Church of God was named as one of the pillars of education in the zone, the Redeemer University, Ede in Osun State, won the Most Outstanding Private University award. The Osile of Oke-Ona Egbaland, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso, was also honoured for his contribution to education at the event.

A graduate of Medicine at the OAU, Miss Arinola Olaiya, won the Most Outstanding Student award for breaking a 30-year academic record at the institution.

The leader of the EMG, Honey Olawale, said the award was meant to address some of the vices involving lecturers and students in tertiary institutions and to raise awareness about the need for wealthy individuals in the society to contribute to the growth of education in the area.

He said, “The South-West Nigeria Education Award is all about honouring and appreciating those who have been working hard in the education sector. We have various categories of awards, in all 41 awardees were honoured for this year’s event. It is limited to the South-West.

“To choose the outstanding lecturers of the year was a huge task because we had to visit the schools and we talked to the students who voted for the winners. It took over four months to choose them.”

The Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), Ikorodu, on Friday said it had expelled 202 students for cultism and examination
malpractices between 2015 and 2018.

Mr Samuel Sogunro, the institution’s Rector in his report to the 8th Congregation of the polytechnic, said 183 students were expelled for cultism while
19 were sent packing for exam malpractices.

Sogunro said 88 of the 183 students were in the School of Full-Time Studies while 95 were in the School of Part-Time Studies.

According to him, nine of the 19 students dismissed for exam malpractices were full-time and 10 were part-time students.

“The present administration has zero tolerance for cultism and the Polytechnic Governing Council has directed that the names of the culprits should be
published in a national daily and that would be done soon,” he said.

Sogunro noted that the management had instituted four types of students empowerment programmes to expose students to entrepreneurial skills and
empower them while in school and after graduation.

He named the programmes as Agriculture Students’ Empowerment Scheme (ASES), Industrial Technology Students Empowerment Scheme (IT-SES),
Students Projects’ Empowerment Scheme (SPES) and Employable Skills ‘Acquisition Empowerment Scheme (ESAES).

On the school’s academic programmes, the Rector said 66 out of the 67 programmes offered by the polytechnic were due for re-accreditation and that

the accreditation team would be visiting by third quarter of the year.

“Towards the accreditation, it is worthy to inform the congregation that the State Government has released the sum of N542 million out of the N750
million promised for infrastructure and manpower development.

“The polytechnic, on its parts, has conducted mock accreditation in the affected programmes and departments of the institution ahead of the main
accreditation,” he said.

On staff development, Sogunro noted that 129 staff members were promoted in 2014/2015 while 250 were promoted in the 2015/2016 exercise.

I had upper credit and I was like If I get to the University, I'm gonna get a first class, but guys forget, it doesn't work like that. Many of my friends has over 3 Co's of which they never had any in their Polytechnic. Graduating with a good result depends on your own way and your lecturers mentality. Bcox 12 graduated from a university doesn't mean your school is the best, it's bull shit

How it started
Remember when I gained admsn to the University in the northern part of Nigeria. During my first lecture, there was this lady I saw and I instantly liked her. We were having a combined class so I thought she was from the other dept, unknown to me, she was in my dept. It took time to get to know that she is my course mate. You know in the north na, apart from hausa, Fulani, ebira, the other girls are mostly from kwara ilorin or osun (I count those two states as muslimize States ). I really had a strong feelings for this lady but later got to know that she was dating a guy we do have lecture together. The guy is from another department but we take some core courses together. Originally I don't want to associate myself to ilorin or osun lady especially their muslim one, I am a Christian and so it will be very tough for a Christian to convince those ladies except you are a Muslim and their people. Sometimes when am talking to people in class and she intervene, I just keep quiet and leave, I don't just want to get too familiar with her. I know myself, I'm this kind of jovial person, I offend people when I'm playing with them and so I don't want to get to familiar with this lady I don't want to offend her, remember that I like her so much... Even in our department group chat, I do see her but don't chat her at all. I just want to be a gentle man for her even though she knows am not a gentle man with others but yet I maintain this level of gentleness when it comes to her.
Most time on her WhatsApp, no picture, very rare of her to upload pictures, so I thought it a normal stuff of all these too religious Muslims but a day like that I went to check her WhatsApp profile and saw her use her boyfriend pic, I was like Chai, see the girl I dey tink na she no get intestine even upload a guy picture on her WhatsApp page, I checked the name too and I saw her use the guy surname with her own name. That time, my heart was like God, kuku kill me. A fateful day came, I lost my pen n I needed one, so she offered me. So later I went online to thank her and told her to help me with a pen, she didn't reply. I wasn't happy and I told her, she later replied that okay, what will I do if she doesn't reply? We shall talk n later we started chatting but in class, we don't talk. I later realized that she is from my state, ogun state and the zeal to desire her more was eating me up. A Muslim and a Christian, I don't see it as a problem since Yorubas especially from Lagos, ogun don't care, we have this unending love whether na muslim or Christian.
Nairalanders, this is my 3rd year, I don't mind if this lady is from my department, I just love her and I will love to marry her.
Honestly speaking, am not after sex but I really love her. My first problem, she told me she broke up with her previous boifrnd coz he was a Christian and now she is dating a Muslim. It's very hard to convince this lady but I truly love her and wish Man never created religion at all Coz it did more harm than good.

The Vice-chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Prof. Kolawole Salako, has appealed to the Federal Government to rescind its decision to scrap management science courses in specialised institutions.

He made this appeal on Monday at the Senate Chamber of the institution while briefing journalists as part of the 30th anniversary of its existence.

Salako, who said the institution had not admitted students for management courses such as Accounting, Banking and Finance, among others, for about two academic sessions, explained that the fate of the undergraduates and the lecturers in the institution’s College of Management Sciences were hanging.

The Federal Government had, last year, ordered the scrapping of management courses in specialised varsities in the country.

Consequently, the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, directed the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board “to delete all such courses on its portal.”

The government therefore directed that such universities stick to the core mandates for which they were set up.

Salako, who noted that it would have been better if the management courses had not commenced in the institution, however, said efforts were being made to get the FG to rescind the decision.

He said, “We are talking to the stakeholders. We believe they will listen to us. It is a headache for us to disband the staff.

“Concerning the issue of the running of management courses here, it would have been better if we had not started. We are trying our best to bring back the college. But the issue is beyond the vice-chancellor.”

Salako, who is the sixth substantive vice-chancellor of the institution, said he had a 12-point agenda, including leadership through democracy, diligence and discipline, promotion of research and scholarship.

On the challenges facing the institution, he said it needed more staff across all departments, and lamented epileptic power supply as well as inadequate hostel facilities.
