IFEBARBIE: Please, can someone explain this. My odometer was reading 85800 on my Camry 2001, after some weeks it changed to what you are about to in the picture. What does it mean? I'm guessing the part of the screen that should display the first digit is faulty, hence you can't see the figure there. |

Once upon a time, there was no need to go for a pre purchase inspection with a mechanic probably no need for test drive, it became necessary due to dealers' various lies about the vehicle state, now that you dealers have become so professional at handling mechanics/ hiding some problems even from them, more stringent measures have to be put in place, and perhaps you still get ahead of the vin, another safety net will be put in place. Current standard now is : Step 1: VIN check to know what state vehicle arrived Nigeria Step 2:Physical inspection with trained eye and test drive to know quality of fix. |

Car Talk › Re: Benin City Residents & Their Obsession For Audi 80! by timifakay(m): 9:36am On Apr 22, 2018 |
GAZZUZZ: It's the equivalent of Lagos people and toyota corrola ariesbull: Cities in Nigeria has some kind of affinity to a particular brand of car. Ibadan is used to Nissan Micra while Sagamu , Kano is Honda , Abuja is Nissan Sunnby and Peougot cars ,in Ogun state is comfortable with Mazdas, Owerri is Passat but in Benin it's a different kettle of fish . The ancient city of Benin choose Audi 80.
A car some people have seen to be problematic, a car that people have changed the acronym to Automobile Under Devil's Influence (Audi) 80 percent. Though it might sound funny but people that drives that car outside Benin has come to see that car as trouble while those that in Benin has exorcised the devil our of the car or has delivered themselves from from the problem of the car. https://etimes.com.ng/benin-city-residents-their-obsession-for-audi-80/
Having traveled many cities , I took time to engage some of the local folks on the love for Audi ! One drive Osas said in pidgin that " this is a wonderful car, when you buy the one that the engine is good, the car has German engineering and this is what makes me like the car" he added
Patrick Osamudiamen , a transporter that Okies Benin -Okada route when engage has all the praises for the car. He said that " one thing that I love this Audi product is the simplicity of the engine and availability of the parts. The car can be easily fixed by anyone. Though it's an old model ,it's a very good car, better than those of the recent models", he concluded.
According to the Wikipedia, The Audi 80 is a compact executive car produced by the German manufacturer Audi(initially known as Auto Union and Audi NSUAuto Union) from 1966 to 1996. It shared its platform with the Volkswagen Passat from 1973 to 1986 and was available as a sedan, and an Avant (Audi's name for a station wagon). The coupé and convertible models were not badged as members of the range but shared the same platform and many parts. Ibadan and Micra Enugu and Avalon Ilorin and Mazda 323 |

calculusx: * Calling out Ipfreely & Cosplay. I must commend your effort on Vin Check and Full Disclosure but both of you that started this struggle needs to educate NLers more on how to interprete Vehicle Report. I have said it often times that majority of these reports are been exaggerated. I have been doing Vin Check as far back 2008 and I can tell you, in as much as it's good to check reports, interpreting it is another hurdle and Vin Report in some cases shouldn't be a deciding factor. What necessitated this thread was that, I received calls from some NLers this morning who are a bit lost on how to interprete or understand Vin Report of Vehicles they got through another source off NL. One of them actually made a commitment on the said Vehicle but later requested for Vin no and checked the report. He was baffled simply because there was no report on the said Vehicle since 2002. Is that enough to make an informed decision? NO. I will display Vin Report of the Vehicle in question after checking for him. Moreso, it's clearly stated on all reports that "not all events or accident are been reported" but people choose to ignore that. There was a time I bought a Highlander from a Dealer in Virginia, My Agent stopped at gas station to refuell only for a low life Mexican nigga to rammed into my HL, my Highlander had rear damage, nothing was reported, such an incident won't appear on Autocheck. My main point is, you started this movement which I'm not against because it favors me more simply because Full Disclosure is what i'v been doing for almost a decade but you guys need to do more in enlightening NLers on Vin Report. Majority are lost and doesn't know what to look out for in Autocheck Report.
~ 0Inspired Expired started with this Clean Title Campaign just to confuse and lure Customers to himself, what happened at the end? He had to cut corners by flying the Cars and avoiding paying Custom Duty. Please don't get me wrong or mis-understand me in anyway, it's a right campaign but you need to do more. If possible offer free service on Vin Check and send them pictures privately or probably make your contact numbers available online so they can always call you guys. It will go a long way. If they agree to this, that still wouldn't be enough, they will be asked to accompany prospective buyers for inspection. And if they accompany buyers, they will be asked to offer guarantee on cars. And if they offer guarantee, they will be required to provide after sales service.... And the requests are endless... I will display some Vin Reports of my Cars I did recently later today and all I can tell you is their Reports were exxagerrated. These are Cars that had no damage whatsoever and I spent little or nothing on them. Less I forget, I do my own independent 120 point inspection on almost all my Cars before been displayed for sale. I wish I have enough time to deliberate more on this issue
Cc olan.shi, dip.ortivo , Gazzuz.zAutos, hubcr.uz, bank.y3w, computer.global, elshan.autos and all concerned [/i] The point in providing VIN is to get images and the reports are to help trained eyes with the inspection. |

Jeezuzpick: Na waa o.
I'm seriously considering this for a 2001 Sienna I bought a few months ago..... The oil (synthetic based 50W15) I used during servicing last 2 months is running short and there's no smoking neither is the oil light on. The "engine check" light flashes, though.
Pls any advice? I never see this kind oil before Wonder wonder, wonder wonder. Shedrack777: as a nigerian, engine flush is good because only going through muds and so many dirts will make the engine to require a flush Are you in anyway related to Legalwealth or Dancok? Olapumpin: Good day Oga gazzuz, Pls kindly advise,I want to get a car and I like roomy cars.My budget can get me either a TOKUNBO 2003 CAMRY (big daddy) or a REGISTERED 2007/2008 CAMRY (MUZZLE). Although one would normally suggest that a TOKUNBO car would be better than a registered car but having gone through Nairaland,I discovered that most of our so called tokunbo cars are actually accidented while some registered cars are well maintained and are in better conditions compared to some toks cars.
Kindly give ur candid opinion on this sir! The Nigeria used car probably came in accidented. Full disclosure, due diligence, repair history and professional pre-purchase inspection will help alot to decide on whatever vehicle you are buying. |
