During the course of every student's stay in school, it is expected that he/she offers a total number of electives that sum up to 12 units.No one cares what level you choose to offer them, all they know is that your 12 units must be completed by the end of your degree while also bearing in mind that the total number of units you can have per semester is 24 units and the minimum is 18,all things being equal.

So, their usefulness is simply to satisfy the 12 units requirement and make sure you complete your 18 units or 24 units for that semester. When calculating GPA for that semester, you don't use them.

Smh. OAU isn't as effective as they are portrayed. Best university in Nigeria and Big establishment that they claim to be, their media team is the most incapable I have come across. How can something as important as a postponement of resumption be carried by a National Newspaper yet the school's official website was updated about a month ago. They haven't even reflected the last two changes made to the calendar.

Students are even playing aro with resumption date.

News is reaching me that the circulars snapped and uploaded here yesterday were printed by a Part 3 student for the aim of causing mischief and that he has been caught and beaten.

I sincerely don't know what to believe anymore but all I know is that I'm going to Ife this weekend.

Doing general courses doesn't mean you will do courses that have nothing to do with what you're studying. For everyone doing something that is science(pure sciences) related, that is Faculty of Science, Faculty of Technology and College of Health Sciences, we'll be offering "white house courses" ie Mth, Phy and Chm.

The only two courses everyone will do is LIB001 which is 0 unit and SER001 which is 2 units and these courses don't even affect your GPA. All you need to do is pass them.

I believed that one earlier because OAU operates at a level of unreasonable behaviour that is almost super human. I don't think ASUU members would behave like that.
