Hello everyone. Congratulations oh. ![]() Today was really exciting. Dammytrager, God bless you exceedingly for keeping hope alive in your own little but profound way. To everyone who has made this thread become a family of sorts, you're loved. To our senior colleagues who helped us, I sincerely pray God will help your GP. I even saw Miracy today on a bike carrying chairs We'll be seeing, guys. Good luck. This is where, perhaps, the most important part of your life's history will be made. Please make history that you'll remember and smile. Timmytimmy, now reporting live from somewhere around OAU. |
Wow. *Grabs popcorn* This is awesome. A big thank you to the organisers of this debate. It's unfortunate that debates have lost the prestige it once had because of the huge intellectual stimulation it causes. Students are now being too lazy to read. I think the participants have done really well. Just few grammatical and typographical errors here and there. I also think more common words should be used afterall the whole purpose of a debate is communication. I think the co-ordinators should take note. Big words should be used more sparsely. It not only hinders effectively communication, it's a bit pretentious. Instead of big words, expressions and phrases create the aura of sophistication being aimed at. For me, the third contestant has brought the strongest argument. A huge factor other debaters didn't touch is the present stage of democratic evolution we are. Our polity is still primitive. Both sides should have taken that fact and hammered it home hard in a way that supported their arguments. That said, I expected much more from the ABU student. His expression is strong but I think he should have brought forward weightier arguments. People are already biassd about decamping. Don't merely tell us that the reason for decamping is corruption and selfish interest. Make us understand why we need to support political ideologies instead of politicians. Make us see why we need our polity to be like that of the Americans, where the party a candidate belongs to is representative of what he style of leadership he stands for. I believe the debaters can do better by anticipating their opponents and tackling them as they present their arguments. #IRepGreatIfe |
PHgirl:She's not dead ![]() |
PHgirl:You referred to me as "this one". That shows familiarity. Are you sure you're not our Chiamaka01? ![]() |
KoladeKoded:Er, it was too active so i deactivated it. I'm already there. Take care. I'll chat you up larer. |
9blast:I'm sure you won't have gone AWOL if a particular young lady didn't deactivate. Better come back ![]() |
Leitner:Please resend it bro. I didn't follow you properly before. Thanks. |
uumm:Yaaay! Pastor Dr Uumm is present amongst us. ![]() Well, I agree with him. You need Jesus,9blast ![]() |
KoladeKoded:Egbon Chemical Engineer Kolade in the building How did you know I was the person? Anyway, I don't think I can drop it here oh. Ask Victor if you guys are still in touch or better still, drop yours if it's convenient for you. |
fudo7:Happy Birthday, bro. God bless you. ![]() |
Leitner:I've followed you. Please follow me back. I hear you have information on the dangerous terrorist. They said you have his picture. ![]() |
Leitner:*runs in wearing Barca pant and nothing else. Starts running up and down* ![]() |
adexx1:Smh. Nigerians can be cynical sha. The guy has grown up na. He's probably older than you sef. ![]() |
adexx1:JB has actually become a man oh. Google his Magazine cover photos. He can now be allowed to be qualified by the word "handsome" ![]() |
PHgirl:Lmao *Rotfl* ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This really tore me up. |
dejii01:Brother, you know what they say. Man shall not live by bread alone. ![]() How did you see me without entering the thread sef? Is Phgirl aware of this? ![]() Meanwhile, #TeamMiss.Ade.Ife ![]() *continues checking profile picture of girls who seem to be agreeing with the op* |
PHgirl:They failed in the 70s. How much more now, when the economy heavily dependent on petroleum? It won't happen. |
I am here to read tribalistic comments from both sides of the divide and try to understand the kinda hatred that lives in the heart of men. With the kinda statements some people make, the devil has nothing on them. You begin to wonder how they sleep at night with such festering anger, rage and malice towards their fellow man and they blame witches for their failure ![]() #TeamCondemnTribalism #TeamNoDoubleStandards #TeamOneNigeria That said, I don't think it's wise to threaten the incoming president with secession. There are better ways to go about making your point than labelling yourself as an enemy of Nigeria especially given the fact you are meant to be an elder, sir. Anyway, I know this doesn't represent the opinion of the whole Ndigbo. Surely, they know better than this. |
Leitner:Kai...na Man U fans the thing dey bite pass. Messi grabbed the champ League cup from their front twice with very humiliating score lines ![]() He even scored a header against them *Rotfl* |
Leitner:Lmao. This guy is crazy. If dem catch you. ![]() Anyway, *in Oby Ezekwesili's voice* we need empirical evidence that his manhood lives on ![]() |
Leitner:I can't remember the first one but the second should be Belleti or Van Bommel. That night i lost my voice. If you see passion that day ehn. I became a Barca fan during that period. I remember Lehman's Redcard and Campbell's goal. Good times. And yes, i dey show myself because I am proud of calling myself a fan. I am not an 'abebe' like dammytrager. OX standing fan ni wa ![]() |
PHgirl:Of course it was. The aro was meant for them Leitner na. The aro wasn't made for you ![]() This is fun ![]() |
PHgirl:GOOD. I thought you would not notice the aro. Don't worry ehn, I know. ![]() |
PHgirl:Dejii01 found the account some days after you opened it,about 3 days later. I'm sorry but you're like a beacon to anyone who has half an intuition ![]() Take care sha. Don't do it. I promise, no one will bother you. Oh, and I'm still searching for a place in my heart to forgive you. Pray for me. And I'm serious oh. |
Leitner:Hin dey practise polygamy and the three women wey get belle don wan get miscarriage. ![]() VivaBarca. ![]() Your analogy of Messi's goal would have been excellent except his goal is like a non-fading orgasm. Orgasms have fleeting pleasure. The goal doesn't't. ![]() |
Dammytrager: ![]() Why does it sound like you are preaching? ![]() I agree. I wasn't against EEE. It's a marvellous course. I just felt like arguing to burn away time ![]() She's not the one. |
Leitner:Perhaps I am not taking it up for a reason ![]() *in barely audible, breathless and very sinister voice* she's here ![]() Just kidding sha. You guys should let it rest. I'm sure she had good reasons for deactivating. |
Dammytrager:How will the Oil and Gas go dead? That is the heartbeat of Nigeria, sir. ![]() Even if it happens, it will mean that an alternative SUBSTANCE has been found and guess what? We're substance ENGINEERS. Please, how much job opportunities are available for Elect Engrs in Oil servicing firms? I raised a poignant point about how the worth of ELECTRICAL ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING cannot be truly grasped in Nigeria. Please state the viable companies that EEE engrs work in Nigeria. I'm talking about companies that do PURELY AND MAJORLY Elect elect jobs in Nigeria. I'm talking about mainstream electronics like the not-so-popular-like-before binatone. You'd be shocked to find out they are not so much because technology hasn't really blossomed here. The few ones that once made their homes here have all gone due to inability to compete with international companies. You've lost this fight, bro. Arguing against Chemical Engineering in one of the most naturally endowed petroleum states is a lost fight ![]() |
9blast:I agree with you. It's definitely not her. ![]() |
PHgirl:*rubs hand in glee* I've actually missed this. Please indulge me. ![]() Well, that your statement is close enough but no cigar. I was reading something recently about this. The US used to be the most dominant world currency but their economic strength isn't what it used to be anymore. Lemme post part of the article. "...the U.S. was such a powerful economy, other countries agreed to accept the dollar as legitimate tender and followed suit to waiver the gold standard. Thus, the dollar became the most dominant currency and almost all commodities came to be quoted internationally in U.S. dollars. As time went by and other economies developed, so did the value of their currencies. Today, the other two major currencies are the euro (the common currency of many European member states) and the Japanese yen. While the U.S. dollar remains the reserve currency of the world, it has depreciated in value in recent years and, consequently, the euro has increased in importance. In fact, the world can be divided into three main currency blocks, with the Americas dealing mostly in dollars, Europe dealing in euros, and the Asian countries becoming more connected to the yen. It is no coincidence that the three largest economies - the U.S., Europe and Japan - also represent the three most dominant currencies..." Closing remarks: It isn't every country who kowtows to the "ultimate" power of the US. Saying something like this in a place like UK won't make you much friends, ma. |
Dammytrager:Are you for real? ![]() Don't fall my hand na. Who made dollars the world currency? How is it the world currency? ![]() If it's by value, the pounds and Euros have far much value. Oya talk ![]() |
