Yeah, I've been kidding. On a more serious note, I think we should just calm down. We are still going to resume the same day so no harm done. I have been in Ife for a week now, listening to dos, don'ts, learning the area, and believe me, the kinda stress we will do ehn, I nor sure say that guy wey do sign language during INEC collation result do am. Besides, being alone in school is an opportunity to make all the mistakes you can before stalites resume. Look on the bright side guys, it's the only side. It is also good news for people like dejii01 and other folk that have a pheromone secretion problem. And I have a word of advice for everyone. I have often thought life was about hurrying and competitions but it's simply not. Everyone has a particular purpose so what your mates are doing now should be none of your business. Just get into OAU and make up your mind to succeed. I had a long talk with an OAU alumnus recently, and all I gathered is that the outside world isn't smiling and we need grace more than ever. Some People who finished OAU about 6,7 years ago with fantastic results are still out there without jobs. Grace is key, guys. Time means nothing to God. I hope we can internalise this. Good luck. ![smiley](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/smiley.png) 1 Like |

Ariyke: A Graduate's Muse.
Fresher, fresher, fresher I was a fresher without a teacher Cheated and deceived by the university cheaters Bus conductors and okada men, craftmen tricksters
Lecture halls were like castles Hostels, a house of rabbles Reading rooms the assemblage of masses of books and students and candles
I wined and dined with eccentric lecturers who threaten nd frighten as if they were your maker Their examinations were tough and not tender They give u d heat even though you are in a cooler
Lecture weeks makes you sick with mountains of books so mighty and thick Just the thought of assignment and tests make you weak No matter the fun, you cannot but think
Welcome to Oba awon University Where the thought of your G.P monitors your frivolity It observes your movement and tracks your sanity Your G.P is your god, there is no greater divinity
Welcome to Oba awon University Where stupidity is celebrated and cladded in royalty Here they call it ARO, it is found in the mouth of every humanity Lecturers and students, pastors and imams infact in the whole university
Welcome to the great citadel of learning For learning and culture that is our saying Our schedules are tight, our social life is dying Lecturers are frightening, students are pleading
Our culture is rising, morality is decaying. At motion ground, at anglo-moz, fivers and new bukateria, archi steps and ajose, deep deep into the academics, virginity is wasting
I remember the strikes that elongated our days By lecturers and staffs we had no say Long we stayed at home, hoping for a way Finally it ended we opened in may
I remember sport complex the stadium of fellowships Where prayers are played, with songs and worships 'bless my G.P oh lord, and give me a relationship' These where the regular plea of the faithful in the fellowship
I remember walking through those massive gates My heart bubbling with joy at my fate I stared out, proud of my state I wanted the adventure to start,oh the haste!
Getting to the bus stop i was awestruck The buildings were huge and massive, i smiled at my luck The rumble and rumble gave me quite a shock And amidst the clatterin and chattering, i knew dis was my stock
Sorry for quoting the long poem, guys but this is creative, and a very proper poetic representation of what we'd meet on campus. Brilliantly written. Erm, Ariyke, i'll surely like to meet who wrote this. ![smiley](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/smiley.png) I'm searching for literary mentorship ![embarassed](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/embarassed.png) |

tunapa2009: my broda, that is why the motto is "learning and culture".. Though the welfare condition is very poor, but man needs to survive.. I don't want to start telling you about my experience as a part one students, it wasn't too sweet like that, especially the aro names; jambite, jjc, jambito, and all sorts of things, but it was fun at the end... Those are memories that make school somehow interesting. Academic struggle is very very tedious, you don't have to run all the time in order to get a space. I had a serious injury then(on my way to Amphi for phy), and I had to leap for days... Abeg, do am "jeje".. You don't have to sleep in Ajose for CHM class because of space. Just calm down... I appreciate your emphasis on calming down. Many stalites have also told me the same. Thanks. ![smiley](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/smiley.png) |

Yaaay! In Ife at the moment and really enjoying myself. Missed seeing the funny posts on here. I get a little bit irritated and overly critical when OAU students gush about the school and hype it. Once again, despite myself,i am reminded that the school is really a great one. ![smiley](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/smiley.png) I went to my room and saw some Part1b students forming levels-don-change and pompous after they found out i was a fresher and i had tried to ask very simple questions about the room.I was a little bit disappointed because i expected much more maturity from University students but then it was Angola hall so i understand perfectly well. My advice to you guys would be to develop a thick skin before coming here because not all your seniors and mates would be mature,a very good number will behave like babies and yeah, learn to be less shy and very confident. You'll need it very much not to be taken for a ride here ![angry](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/angry.png) And Engineering people, get ready to burst ya asses on books. Our maths is 5 unit, chemistry is 4,physics is 4 ![cry](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/cry.gif) . And everyone, buy good shoes because you'll walk. Scratch that, you'll run long distances from one Lecture Theatre to another for classes that follow each other. Bottom line is that, the school is not just about being academically intelligent. You need physical toughness and must be able to think on your feet and improvise. This was not how i imagined my university education would look like but we thank God. Prepare yourself for the worst here. I am not sure but we will have to struggle for virtually everything here, from water,to space for charging,to class notes,to food,to receiving lectures. I exaggerated a little bit but do not expect to be handled like glass here. Haydot95,you have issues oh and it was not my shrine that inflicted you with these ones because no gods are this wicked. Instead of doing something about your revoked payment, you keep playing with Dazzleme here ![grin](https://www.nairaland.com/faces/grin.png) I'm leaving probably on tuesday,if you come soon enough,we can get to see. Dazzleme,i have told you to stay away from that boy. He is a hooligans.
