J12: Jega thinks this election is child's play. I doubt if this man is mentally sound, he doesn't understand that this year's elections are pivotal to our democratic and social progress.
His PVC distribution and collection plan is useless and stupid. I went to INEC office in Area 10 to collect my PVC this morning only to be told I can't collect it because I registered in Enugu. I can't imagine how many nigerians are like me, who registered in a different state in 2010/2011 and left their area of registration permanently thereafter but can't vote in the upcoming elections because Jega can't use his brains properly even though he is a professor.
Jega must go after 2015.
addendum
INEC has the sole responsibility of sensitizing and informing eligible voters of the status of the TVC's and PVS. Technology has made it extremely easy to achieve this.
So if I registered as a voter in lets say, in an insurgency infested area like Baga in 2010/2011 and left, you expect me to go back to Baga and collect my PVC?
Why can't INEC have a centralised and publicly accessible database where users can check the status of their cards. INEC is not the NPC or NIMC, their activities are continuous and important. mr Man u can only collect where you registered |

Therock5555: PROMOTION
"Na wetin happen?" Oga Emma asked his dad.
All our ears were in satelite dish mode to capture every available signal coming our way, it was surly gonna be a grear war of words.
"When did it become a crime to pursue workers in my own factory when they do wrong?" The boss fired back.
"But i employed her" Oga Emma countered back.
"Ehen so if you employ her does this look like your factory? Go and open yours and then employ her" his dad said angrily and gave his trademark hiss before going out.
I said trademark because hissing was like his occupation, he would just be walking on the road and begin to hiss, we usually call it the boss second language.
Oga Emma was furious but there was nothing he could do, the door was already slam in his face, he had to face the bitter truth, he still could not face his father, the bitter pill had been forced into his throat. He turned and faced Aisha and asked her what happened, when she narrated it all he almost slapped her. He was disappointed and ashamed that he dissed his dad without even inquiring about what the girl did. He drove her away. We all looked on sadly, a great worker was dismissed just by one simply act of arrogance and pride. No wonder it is said that pride goea before a fall.
Life continued as normal, i was a good guy or so i was thinking till one fateful day.
I had not still solved the mystery of Obinna and Hassan, they still boasted of getting large sums of money and they usually dash us the workers sometimes but i was still far from the truth on how they got their money. I once heard Collins saying that following the supply vehicle was lucrative business but i did not know how that was any better than ours, i loved the privacy inside but the hot thrills of stories those duo brought back makes me want to join them somtimes but there was no space for me.
"Helo workers"
Hassan the operator adressed us one day when we were still working.
"Yes operator" We replied.
"Em Oga Emma said i should inform you guys that we would start working day and night shifts since its dry season and the water produced in the day time was not sufficient for that day not to talk of the next day. So we are going to share ourselfs into two groups. One group would work for one week in the day while the other group would work one week at night, then shifting takes place, the morning crew starts coming for night while the night starts coming in the morning. Thats the message so choose your groups"
Hassan informed us, i was smiling broadly and winked at Collins who told me to choose night. I did but he was choosed for morning shift because the workers said we both spent too much time gisting that working so seperating us would do more good than bad.
I was sad that we wont be together again but no wahala sha, i, Lami and Ashie were the chosen ones so we were asked to go rest at home till 8pm in the night.
As i was going out Collins ran and wispered into my ears something before running back.
"You go enjoy this night" was what he said before running back inside. I was confused but he went back too quickly before i could ask him to explain himself.
I just shook my head and went home happily, i was glad because of two things, one i would have my first night out from home apart from going to vigils. Two i wanted to see the enjoyment Collins was talking about.
"Oduwaa, this one wey you come house early like this, shebi dem sack you ba?" Aunty Charity mocked.
"Aunty na you get your mouth oo" I replied and went inside.
My dad as usual asked what the problem was so i told him how our shift was shared for day and night. He was reluctant to allow me go because the area i was working contained more than 50percent of Muslims and mosques in Akwanga, but he finally agreed after he considered because he knew that i had changed alot since i began working, i showed more maturity and responsibilities than when i stayed at home all day long. I was learning to be a man. He even joked that very soon i would begin paying my own share of the rent like say na me send am to born me
i went to rest with a lot of thoughts in my mind, i wondered why Collins told me i was going to enjoy, i had never worked all night before so i did not know what was to come.
By 7;30p, i was there already because my dad insisted i went early, he even took me with his vehicle to make sure that it was work i went for.
The other workers also came with Oga Emma so work began, the engine was put on so oga Emma went home to sleep while we worked. We all wore jackets because the night was cold, it was boring than the morning shift because the two girls spoke in their dialect. I just sang rap songs to keep my eyes opened.
Then the unexpected happened.
Nepa interrupted the power supply, we were thrown into darkness. So we spread our blankets and lay on the cold tiles till the power was restored.
Na there temptation catch me... Uhhhmm long story, make i go sleep first....

ronald4lif: You have to pretend as if nothing happened and don't plead with the mom. It's possible she didn't clearly see what happened between you and the girl. And you pleading with her will throw all her doubts. But even if she did she may not want to tell her daughter so as to avoid problems and avoidable issues in your marriage. Maybe it's time to let your wife friend leave the house to avoid more drama. And just be more nice to your wife and your mom now generally.
But if your mother in-law finally tells her daughter what transpired please deny it completely. You can say you were passing by and along the line you heard the friend calling for help and you went to assist her (if it was a kitchen incident you could say things like oil poured on her and you had to quickly get a cloth to clean up the mess on her) and was only trying to help before mama came in. Don't make it appear as if mama is lying but rather that yes she saw you both but didn't get the exact picture of what was happening. You can discuss whatever story you may want to say with the girl so you both can have same story.

Rareantagonist: Brethren, This is a desperate and urgent call from the throne of Grace that the brethren in Christ are about to make the greatest error of their lives by selling off their kingly heritage for a mess of pottage called "change". Change into what? Change into what happened to Egypt , Sudan, Lybia, Algeria and Turkey which were once flourishing Christian countries but because the brethren there also sold their souls on the premise of "it does not matter"who was the head of state when nigeria was registered with OIC in 1989.Answer Babangida ,and that same babangida is backing jonathan today so don't be deceived they became the last set of Christians in those countries! Remember Turkey! It was the beautiful Christian country called Constantinople! Today it is history! The foundation of the planned islamisation of Nigeria was taken in 1989 in Abuja by OIC. Since then they have not looked back! Our Government gave them a contribution of 21 billion dollars then! Wonder then where the funding of boko Haram is coming from? They have painfully now infiltrated one of the biggest denominations in Nigeria and offered one of their best Pastors -a Professor,a Vice presidential Slot! Now a larger community of that denomination now promotes this "change"! They did it in Constantinople ! Remember brethren, that the biggest denomination of Christians in the North - the EYN has been wiped off! All their churches burnt. You may say that it is the North it can't get here! They said the same thing in Sudan, Libya, Algeria and Constantinople! How come the brethren have become so dulled in the Spirit that they no longer are sensitive? We may be the last Christians in Nigeria if this grave error the brethren is about to commit is not averted! Our Lord Jesus is greatly miffed by our irresponsibilit y as His Followers! How come we no longer hear Him! The Great shepherd of the Sheep! How come that Christians have forgotten that this country was made ungovernable by these same people and Christians are holding the wrong person responsible? How come? The signs of the eventual Islamization of Nigeria are awash in the 1999 constitution where Islam, Sharia are mentioned more than 100 times.! Not a single mention of Christ or Christianity! You say it does not matter. Now, mark it you cannot amend the constitution without a bitter progrom! Brethren, the night is here! We must contend for the faith and our heritage which was handed once and for all to us by our maker! Don't relent, sound this trumpet....We will not be the last Christians in Nigeria! Amen. |

Larrylarex: The Jos Plateau is the largest plateau in Nigeria and owing to its elevation, Jos is the coldest city in Nigeria (about the temperature of California, USA) for example, the temperature here now us about 15°C and it has gone south of 10°C at a point in this winter (Yes it is better referred to as winter, this one don pass ordinary harmattan) Because of this cold weather, people usually does some things that would be considered wild by Lagos standards. I present to you below, a few of them.
1. Boiling water to brush teeth or do dishes:
Some people actually boil the water they wanted to use for brushing Their teeth or do their dishes because ordinary water will be freezing cold and coupled with the freezing breeze is a no no
2. Ladies wearing socks on ANYTHING they wore:
It is not uncommon seeing 'Big girls' wearing socks on office suits and skirts, even after dressing for an owanbe party, socks and gloves were freely worn on the Ankara and lace attires. In short, their is no dressing that's weird here, anything goes PS: Weird dressing doesn't exclude men too o! I saw a man yesterday that wore a sweater over his shirt before putting on the suit jacket
3. Purposely Staying under the sun:
You'll see people intentionally staying under the sun as soon as it comes out just to feel the warmth of the greatest source of energy.
4. Bathing with boiled water:
I dare say that there is nobody I mean NOBODY in this Jos that has the effrontery to bath with ordinary water as history has it that some people actually froze to their death when they tried it in times past.
5. Putting on electric stove in the bedroom:
because of the unusual cold, some people will put on the electric stove at night just so they can be warm throughout the night.
6. Sleeping with more than two pieces of clothing on:
Its a common thing if people slept dressing like an astronaut, I mean with two trousers, two shirts, one Cardigan, head warmer and hear muffs, Hand gloves and socks all under a cover cloth/duvet! Lil!
If you're staying on the Jos or Taraba plateau please add yours
