The dangers of a developing economy being too dependent on imports cannot be overstressed. Buhari tried his best to curb this ugly trend by closing the borders and limiting importation. Now we have a frontline presidential candidate who wants to reverse this policy so he and his kinsmen can make private gain at the expense of our local production and exports. He must be resisted by all means necessary |

Remember the clamor for good governance is the dream of every Nigerian, Let us put our hands on deck and elect Peter Obi so as to change the political narrative of that Country called Nigeria. (APC =PDP, PDP = APC) In case we fail to get it right this time, dividing Nigeria will go a long way in emancipating people from ignorance, poverty and illiteracy. But Peter Obi was in PDP just a few months ago na |

Politics › Re: Realistically, What Is Atiku Or Obi's Chances In The SE And North Respectively? by Tingotoe: 8:16pm On Dec 06, 2022 |
LegalWolf: On Atiku
I am a little bit confuse on how Atiku can realistically win SE. There are five States in the SE, listed below:
Imo Ebonyi Abia Enugu Anambra
Imo and Ebonyi are both APC States and I expect that the governors will try and deliver for their parties. Even if APC will not win those states, the chances are better for Peter Obi being the son of soil. So at least 60% of the votes will go to Obi with the rest being shared by the rest (with APC likely coming second)
Abia and Enugu are both PDP controlled states. However, the governors abhors Atiku's ambitions and will do everything to scuttle Atiku winning in those states. Like above, we expect Atiku to gallantly scramble for votes here as well. The same story goes for Anambra.
So can anyone logically explain how PDP hopes to win any state in the SE ?? (I expect 5/5 for PO).
On Peter Obi
I am still convinced that PO cannot win any local government in the North. The only chance he has is Benue because Ortom will likely support him. But outside there, can anyone realistically tell me any local government in the North that PO can win? Just one He will get considerable votes in plateau, Benue and Taraba. He will also get a few in Adamawa too but as for winning a LG, that's next to impossible. Peter Obi is just deceiving himself and his supporters. There's no path to victory for him at the polls next year |

onumadu: I like Obi/Datti and have been campaigning for them all these while. However, someone should please tell them that the hourly payment is not good for Nigerians. Nigeria has a lot of problems, but Nigeria also has a lot of good socioeconomic practices, some of which Nigerians have taken for granted because they don't know better. One of such practices is SALARY payment system.
In developed countries, the people who get paid salaries are top executives of companies, therefore on its face value, it may seem like a good idea to scrap the salary system in Nigeria. However if you have lived in developed countries, you would see that the get-paid-as-you-work system has many systemic problems. One of such problems is the dehumanizing nature of the system. It is a system that can easily (and often does) replaces human workers with robots.
In many cases, the human workers are even forced to train customers to use robots, essentially training for their own future unemployment. The salary system is an inherently human/humane system that takes into consideration the workers humanity. When a worker gets sick or unable to work, he/she still gets paid in full, because they have human commitments.
In a get-paid-as-you-work system, once a worker gets sick, s/he only gets paid for yearly assigned sick-off days, which usually lasts for about one month or six weeks max. Once the worker exhausts the sick-off days, s/he is only limited to getting part payment for government approved disability days, which is also usually exhausted quickly (matter of 3 months max), and the worker is then faced with all kinds of economic problems, which usually ends in homelessness. It happens fairly often. Getting sick in such a system is usually the cause of most homelessness. You risk being homeless once you get sick!
When I was in Nigeria, and one of my kids got sick and was rushed to a private children's hospital, the nurse that attended to us had an infant child who she brought with her to work. The baby was sleeping in a small bed next to her, and that was fine. The whole place felt human and normal, and we even enjoyed the company of her new baby. You cannot have such in a developed country, but that is the point of the humanity of the Nigerian system.
Though we often lament the lack of development in Nigeria, we should always be mindful that some of those things that develop a country also dehumanize the country.
Salary system humanizes a country, while the get-paid-as-you-work dehumanizes and creates a lot of social problems. Everything cannot be monetized; some things are beyond money.
Someone should please advise Obi-Datti to drop the get-paid-as-you-work idea, and focus on improving what Nigeria is already doing right. Salary system should be strengthened rather than replaced.
We should not jump from frying pan to fire.
Nlfpmod Mynd44 Relax. Peter Obi can never be our president but he can pay his workers in his brewery per second if he likes |

FatherOfJesus: If you look at his campaign strategy, you will realize that he has totally strategized to get as much vote as possible with as little campaign funds as possible. Peter Obi for now is working on cementing his voting bloc and he’s doing it without spending extravagantly like a typical Nigerian politician who thinks money is everything.
This is not the usual style of campaign of wasting humungous amount of money that will not really make much difference.
He has recognized where his strength lies, he knows that the Christian community is his greatest asset and that being the only Chrisrian in the frontline, he has to make sure that almost every single Christian will vote for him (imagine if 75% of Chrisrian voters vote for you, can you imagine?), hence he’s spending time reaching his potential votes by attending every of their mega church programs. This strategy conserves a lot of money because the church does the job for him by gathering their followers, he only needs to be introduced and boooooom, bloc votes will be sealed. This strategy makes it possible to reach his voters without sweating.
That’s a very smart strategy.
Peter Obi knows that investing a lot in NE and NW will be so expensive that the investment may not be worth it in the long run, knowing fully well that None of Tinubu, ATiku and kwankwanso are going to get bloc votes there anyways. The investment is not worth it, instead you can start a grassroots program in these regions to save cost and by spending more time.
Peter Obi is brining a new dimension to how politics is even played, he’s so smart at managing money that he’s saving his party and himself a lot of campaign funds in organizing campaign crowds and that’s why I will vote for him. Well I'm a Christian and I sure ain't voting for Peter Obi because I can see through all his lies and the futile attempts to make him look good. He's just another thieving politician interested in himself and his family's advancement. He's a fraud |
