I dont quite agree with you that it's no longer relevant. In fact, it is even now that social media is taking over the brains of young people not allowing them to have quality critical thinking that the study of philosophy is encouraged.

A leader who lacks ability to think critically and deeply before taking decisions, is a disaster waiting to happen. And that is why we are suffering in this two months old administration. taking decisions out of pride and arrogance or just to show people you are in charge without first studying and understaing the situation is laughable even though painful at the same time. In any case, studying any course does not guaranty that you will be a good leader. There are a lot of things that make a good leader.

It's is only in africa that we push children to read what they do not have passion in thinking we want them to study a course that will make them rich.

In the western world children are allowed to make their choices and study what their passion lies in.
