When Tinubu and APC called for subsidy removal strike in 2012, were they enemies of progress?

Answer.
The situation then warranted it. But things have changed.

I stand with NLC.

You cannot remove fuel subsidy without putting in place measures to cushion the effect.

Peter Obi clearly gave the measures that had to be put in place before removing the oil subsidy.

I will advise APC and Tinubu to go read Peter Obi's complete tweets on oil subsidy removal. They will learn a lot from those tweets
You will stand with them like any other obedient. It is a planned script but it will not work.

The Director of Media and Publicity for the dissolved All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Bayo Onanuga, has urged Nigerian workers to ignore the directives of the President of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero, on the proposed strike slated to commence Wednesday over the removal of fuel subsidy.

Onanuga in a post via his verified Twitter handle stated that the Ajaero-led union is playing politics and acting the script of the opposition Labour Party.

He added that the move was targeted at destabilising President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The statement read in part, “NLC President Joe Ajaero has asked workers to go on strike next Wednesday over the removal of petrol subsidy, despite being privy to the distressing financial figures, which justified why subsidy ought to have been scrapped a long time ago. My advice to the perceptive workers and the Nigerian populace is simply to ignore Ajaero and his ilk. He is playing politics and is actually acting the script of the opposition Labour Party, out to destabilise the young Tinubu administration.

“Besides, one wonders whose interest Ajaero is championing, when he did not oppose the position of his Labour Party and presidential candidate, who campaigned with the promise to scrap subsidy from Day One, if elected.

“NLC and TUC leaders knew since last year November that subsidy will be scrapped from July 1 as no provision has been made in the budget for it, beyond this date.

“The Federal Government which already commits 96 percent of its revenue in servicing debt is not in any position to continue selling subsidised fuel, most of which is smuggled across our borders for criminal and obscenely unpatriotic profit.”
Onanuga further explained that subsidy of fuel was no longer sustainable as the FG is virtually broke. According to him, apart from its N77 trillion debt, the federal government also owed the NNPC Limited about N2.4 trillion for past subsidies.

“The Nigerian people and workers should support the government as it works out new wages and rolls out other interventions, as promised by President Tinubu, to mitigate the effects of the new fuel price.

“Let’s not make ourselves pawns in the hands of the politically biased and tainted NLC and TUC. Ajaero is no more a labour leader. He is a politician and leader of the Labour Party. He is no more representing all the Nigerian workers,” he added.

Obidients are trying to use NLC to cause confusion in Nigeria. NLC lost their legitimacy to represent workers' interests the moment they went openly and supported a candidate in the last election and campaigned vigorously for that candidate.

The Naira issue is just for the last election, they plan it together with emefiele to make things difficult for the opposition candidate because they know that they can't outspend Atiku.
But all the opposition parties supported it? While APC governors were fighting their government through the Supreme, the opposition was abusing them and the Supreme Court, especially the obedient.

You are the one that sounds annoying. A real man should be known for its stand on an issue come rain come shine. In America, the Democrats and Republicans have always maintained a stand on national issues. One stands for abortion and one opposes it. One stands for gun and one opposes it. Etc.
But in Africa, they act like idiotic criminals changing their thoughts and stands every minute.
Their reason for doing that is just to deceive people for their selfish gain.
If you want to be a respected man, you must be known and stand by your words.
If you want to be respected by your kids, when you say no your no must be no. You will be that no nonsense dad that is feared, loved and respected.
And you stand is such over time, you don't shift? Some of you actually talk like you are an alien.

PoliticsSupreme Court: Shettima Withdrew From Senatorial Election On 6th July,2022 by tinsel(op): 2:51pm On May 27, 2023
The supreme court has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of using social media to bully and terrorise justices.

Inyang Okoro, justice of the supreme court, spoke on Friday while delivering judgment in an appeal filed by the PDP seeking to void the election of President-elect Bola Tinubu on the grounds that his running mate, Kashim Shettima, was guilty of double nomination.

The five-member panel of the apex court dismissed the appeal and held that the appellant had no locus standi to institute the suit.

Okoro held that the appellant tried to mislead the apex court by claiming that the lower court found that there was indeed a double nomination.

“The appellant stated to this court that the court below found that there was indeed double nomination and that the 4th respondent knowingly allowed himself to be nominated in two constituencies,” Okoro said.

“I have searched the entirety of the record and indeed the judgement of the court below and there is no such finding. To think that learned senior counsel will mislead the court is sad.

“For public policy sake, I must state that indeed the 4th (Shettima) respondent withdrew from the nomination for Borno central district on the 6th of July 2022 exhibited as exhibit APC 1 on page 58 of the record of appeal.

The political party sent to the INEC same 6th of July, 2022 the notice of withdrawal. The political party further sent on the 10th of July 2022, a notification of dates for the conduct of fresh primaries for the senatorial district and the latter letter exhibit APC2 on page 59 of the record carried the reference of Exhibit APC1.

“That is as at the 6th of July, 2022 there was no longer nomination of the 4th respondent for Borno central senatorial distict and there could not have been double nomination on the 14th of July 2022.

“Using the social media to terrorize and bully the justices of the supreme court by the appellant is appalling and unprofessional.

“The appeal is without merit and is dismissed. I abide by the award of cost in the lead judgement.”
