PoliticsNigerians React As Peter Obi Made Igbos Head Of Campaign In Lagos, Sokoto Etc by tinsel(op): 2:42pm On Jan 02, 2023
The Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi has been accused of clannishness as his presidential campaign council list was dominated by his Igbo kinsmen.

The Labour Party flagbearer on Wednesday was said to display and was accused of the motive to run an ethnic agenda.

Meanwhile, speculations have been widespread that Obi is a staunch supporter of the proscribed secessionist group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) with many claiming he intends to run a government that gives legitimacy to the group and have them dominating key political offices if he becomes president.

These speculations were heightened when the Presidential candidate released his long-awaited presidential campaign council list with many of his Igbo kinsmen dominating the list and heading non-Igbo states.

The campaign coordinator for Lagos State was Mr John Ezeigbe Ughulu and it has been expected of Obi to appoint a South-West native, especially in light of pontifications from his supporters that rumours of the Eastern takeover of the state.

Also, in Sokoto state, a core Northern state, the same decision was replicated as Obi went with Mr Ifeanyi Ezeagu to head the campaign in the state

Questions have since been asked of the motive behind the nepotistic and clannish moves from Obi especially in light of the countless IPOB agenda claims levelled against him.

In his recent interview on Channels TV, he revealed he lives with members of the group.

A Twitter post with the account of @luckysta01 said anyone who wants to restore Nigeria should dissociate from tribalism and ethnic jingoism

Also, @memoirs reacted that Obi should not make it about the Igbos because he will lose.

Another reaction from @kongess said, Remove anything Igbo, this is purely Nigerians, so let’s move.

Another Twitter account @eniola da pleaded for Obi to be strategic and that he should get lots of none Igbo to lead his campaign and the ones that truly believe in him.

@RumeKhan said” It’s not just Igbos… Get everyone involved… This movement has a lot of potential-Obi.

Politics2023: Peter Obi Represents Body, Soul Of Igbo – Ohanaeze by tinsel(op): 2:07pm On Jan 02, 2023
The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has said the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi represents the body and soul of the Igbo people in the 2023 general elections.

Ohanaeze also called on Nigerian people to disregard any opposing view from the South East, describing such “as the usual distraction and thorns that trail the path to victory.”

This was made known in a press statement entitled ‘Obi represents the body and soul of Ndigbo’ signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Dr Alex Ogbonnia on Wednesday.

Ohanaeze said the declaration was pertinent as the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) spokesman, Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed asked whether the Igbo group is supporting Obi as the presidential election is three months away.

The statement quoted Baba-Ahmed as saying “We don’t know whether they are in support of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party or not. The nation can see what is happening now and if the South East fails to line up behind Obi, they should not blame anybody.”

Reacting to this, the statement clearly said Obi solidly has the backing of Ohanaeze and the entire Igbo people describing him as “our illustrious son.”

“And by all standards, Obi is a good commodity that defies bad market. As it stands, Obi represents the body and soul of the Igbo for the 2023 general election,” Ohanaeze said.

It asserted that the contrary voice from the Igbo people is likened to that of Judas, Jesus Christ’s betrayer in the Bible, Christian’s Holy Book.

It read partly, “The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide led by Ambassador Professor George Obiozor reassures the Northern Elders Forum and indeed the whole Nigeria that the South East of Nigeria or better put, the Igbo are solidly behind our illustrious son, Mr Peter Obi.

What’s The Worth Of Obasanjo’s Endorsement?

.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo used to be a chimera. His influence was mythical yet sweeping. In the past, Nigeria was too small to contain his stature — as he dominated the horizons across Africa and beyond. He lived up to his legend of being a human Orisa. He is, perhaps, still one of the most respected leaders out of Africa.

But Obasanjo’s influence within Nigeria appears to have ebbed over the years. His words seem to have lost lustre and his presence vacant of command. Perhaps, when a masquerade comes out to perform all the time, and sometimes without an invitation, it loses its allure and charm.

From 2007 (after he left office) up until 2014, Obasanjo had his wonder and thunder. His position on national matters mattered and was sought after. His missives were denominated ‘’letter bombs’’ for their sheer quality to inflict maximum casualty on the target and sway public opinion.

In 2013, former President Goodluck Jonathan suffered ‘’casualty’’ from one of Obasanjo’s missives. Obasanjo wrote an open letter which technically put a nail to the re-election bid of Jonathan.

In the letter titled ‘’Before it is too late’’, Obasanjo accused Jonathan of many malfeasances. He said: ‘’Allegation of keeping over 1000 people on political watch list rather than criminal or security watch list and training snipers and other armed personnel secretly and clandestinely acquiring weapons to match for political purposes like Abacha and training them where Abacha trained his own killers, if it is true, it cannot augur well for the initiator, the government, and the people of Nigeria.’’

He also accused Jonathan of cleaving Nigeria apart – along the weak seams of north-south and Christian-Muslim. According to him, Jonathan was favouring and promoting his Ijaw kin to the disadvantage of other Nigerians.

Obasanjo’s letter was well-celebrated. It was held up as a definitive and summary verdict on the administration of Jonathan. Obasanjo himself was hailed for his ‘’courage and forthrightness’’, and for his audacity to look power in the eye and spit the truth. But all of that changed after the 2015 elections owing to his overbearing deportment.

In 2018, just three years after President Buhari came to power, Obasanjo applied himself to his accustomed enterprise. He dispatched an open letter to Buhari, accusing him of incompetence. According to Obasanjo: ‘’The lice of poor performance in government – poverty, insecurity, poor economic management, nepotism, gross dereliction of duty, condonation of misdeed – if not outright encouragement of it, lack of progress and hope for the future, lack of national cohesion and poor management of internal political dynamics and widening inequality – are very much with us today.’’

In the build-up to the 2019 elections, Obasanjo fired a salvo. He accused Buhari of failing to address insecurity, of nepotism and of sundry ineptitudes. But Buhari earned the endorsement of Nigerians to serve a second time as president.

Obasanjo said: ‘’For over ten years, for four of which you have been the captain of the ship, Boko Haram has menacingly ravaged the land and in spite of government’s claim of victory over Boko Haram, the potency and the activities of Boko Haram, where they are active, remain undiminished, putting lie to government’s claim. The main issue, if I may dare say, is poor management or mismanagement of diversity which, on the other hand, is one of our greatest and most important assets. As a result, the very onerous cloud is gathering. And the rain of destruction, violence, disaster, and disunity can only be the outcome.’’

In 2021, Obasanjo reprised himself in another letter to Buhari. But over time, his take or opinion on national matters has become tepid, vapid, and lacking in magnetism to hold public interest and to sway public opinion. His opinions have lost the power to cause mortal damage. And those who once eulogised him as the incarnation of courage, truth, and honesty are now his fiercest critics.

It seems that Obasanjo wrestles with anyone he fails to control and abominates anyone who resists his impingements.

Has the Ebora Owu been demystified? What is the worth of Obasanjo’s endorsement? In the heat of the political liaisons in 2022, Obasanjo’s hilltop mansion in Abeokuta, Ogun state, became a cynosure of political pilgrimage as politicians fell over themselves to seek his endorsement of their bids. The rat race for Obasanjo’s endorsement. At the time, supporters of Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party, claimed that the former governor had the blessing of Obasanjo. Although Obasanjo concealed his intentions in pretensions of statesmanship, it was well-noised he was favourably disposed towards Peter Obi’s candidature.

But the former president has cast aside the veil, and has declared support for Peter Obi, today, January 1, 2023.

The truth is Obasanjo’s endorsement cannot take Peter Obi to the presidency. It cannot take him anywhere.

Obasanjo is a big masquerade. His place in Nigeria’s political progression is undisputed. When iconic leaders are to be counted, Obasanjo will have a place. But in the cycle of life, there comes a time when the big masquerade will have to retire – when there is no one left in the crowd.

PoliticsObasanjo Seeking Third Term Through Obi, Says PDP Campaign Council by tinsel(op): 1:39pm On Jan 02, 2023
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign council has tackled former President Olusegun Obasanjo over his endorsement of Peter Obi, presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP).

On Sunday, Obasanjo, in a letter to Nigerians, declared his support for Obi ahead of the 2023 general election.

He advised Nigerians not to be “confused nor gullible” about who to vote for because Obi has what it takes to put Nigeria on the right path to progress.

Reacting in a statement, Daniel Bwala, spokesperson of the PDP presidential campaign council, said Obasanjo is “one man who believes his role also includes choosing and imposing presidents per time as if we run a monarchical system of

“He believes he is the only former leader who knows what is right for Nigeria, and who has the celestial powers to predict the future of Nigeria and its leadership. He believes it is only his administration that has done well and hence the authority to choose the next leader or president. His way of choosing the next president is either to blackmail the incumbent or denigrate candidates in favour of his choices,” the statement reads.

“A cursory look at his letter released on this day, the 1st day of January 2023, one can’t help but draw a deduction of a man who believes so much in himself. His entire letter is riddled with me, my and I. Even when he made references to candidates, he assumed he is the source of their relevance and notoriety. First of all, history is replete with his bad decisions which time would not permit us to layout in this article, but suffice to say that his records and official acts were and still are antithetical to democratic ideals.

“The democracy we practice recognizes the participation of people in government and electioneering processes. He has the constitutional right to choose whoever he likes and support the candidacy of the person, but the right he doesn’t have is one that threatens, intimidates or harasses citizens to support any candidate as the only means to avert danger, secession or disintegration.

“One fact is clear, Nigerians would decide, and this they would do, not on the basis of a letter by a man seeking a third term by proxy, but by their own assessment of who amongst the candidates presents the case they believe warrant their votes. The letter is not new, and the content is not surprising, but it seems his legacy betrays his assertion in the letter. Baba OBJ Nigeria has moved on, please allow our democracy to grow and respect the will and wishes of the Nigerian people.”

The opposition party added that Nigerians won’t vote based on Obasanjo’s endorsement but for the candidate that can tackle the challenges confronting the country.

Excepts

RELIGIOUS:

Dr. Daniel Olukoya should be prepared for a stronger International scandal and disgrace; he should immediately commence strategic warfare prayers to avert his ministry not breaking into pieces.
New Oshoffa will emerge in the CCC, as I see the present Emmanuel Mobina leadership fading off.
Assembles of God will go into extinct, as only the carcass will be left.
Joshua Iginla will become a global Gospel power, but he should pray against sudden health challenges, as those he least expect will battle against his health spiritually.
Prophet Marcus Tibetan should pray for genuine establishment, I see him been deserted and ridiculed.
Pastor Ibiyeomie and Paul Enenche should be prepared to take the mantle of National Leadership, as the present old one’s are been prepared for eternal rest.
Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin will lose heavily in the ministry except he prays very well. I see a heavy gang up prepared against him which is too strong to wade off, neither money nor power will be able to rescue him.
Esther Ajayi should be very careful as, I see a dangerous fall that will make her run helter cater.
Christ Apostolic group of Churches will steadily rise on one condition of taking out anything called occultism and sanctioning perpetrators.
Redeem, Deep life will break into different factions and the strongest will dominate.
CAN Leadership will be exposed, ridiculed the Christian will suffer more under the present leadership of CAN led by Rev. Daniel Okoh.
POLITICS:

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will win the 2023 general election, Atiku will follow while Obi will take the 3rd lead, though Tinubu’s victory will not represent any blessing for the country, but that will be the beginning and the foundation for different nations coming out from the present Nigeria.
Present Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Sanwo Olu, Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, Zamfara State Governor, Dr. Bello Matawalle, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, Gombe State Governor, Mr. Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya, Kwara State Governor, Dr. Abdirahman Abdulrazaq, Nassarawa State Governor, Mr. Abdulllahi Sule, will all be Re-elected.
Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde will not be Re-elected. His defeat by his main opponent, the candidate of APC, Senator Teslim Folarin will be massive. Adebayo Adelabu of Accord Party is still an infant politician, but with patience and perseverance, he may become the Oyo State Governor in future if Nigeria has not yet broken.
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma should not seek re-election come November 2023. I foresee a massive disgrace if he does.
Edward Onoja, Deputy Governor of Kogi State, is Spiritually favored to take the mantle from his Master Governor Yahaya Bello.
All G-5 Governors led by Governor Nyeson Wike, will end in disarray but I foresee two of their member stylishly withdrawing their membership before February 2023, election.
Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Akeredolu, should be prayed for over his health. He will be attacked and his health will deteriorate and may not end in office.
Governor Adeleke of Osun state will be impeached, except he prays very well. He should avoid totally the Osun State Government House for complete seven months. A word is enough for the wise.
Ahmed Lawan political career has been buried completely, I see him been jailed after his tenure as the Senate President.
Jimoh Ibrahim, Adeniyi Adegbonmire in Ondo State, will be elected respectively as Senators in their domain. Deacon Segun Adewale should be more prayerful as he has a brighter chance in the Lagos West Senatorial seat.
Hon. Jimi Benson name will echo in Lagos State, and he will be penciled down as next Lagos Governor.
Olusegun Obasanjo is playing is last card; he should ask for forgiveness and amend his ways.
IBB also is playing is last card. He should also follow suits.
ECONOMY:

All policies of Godwin Emefiele will summersault, he will eventually be arrested, tried and jailed, and this I have said earlier in the year 2022.
Price of food stuff, price of education and crude oil will sky rocket and this will lead to massive protest immediately shortly after a new president has been swore in.
ETHNIC/ AGITATION:

Nigeria break up is certain, but the present group of Agitators like Sunday Adeyemo, AKA Sunday Igboho, Nnmadi Kalu and their likes are not the one chosen and prepared for the task.
Nnamdi Kalu will be released soon.
Prof. Wole Soyinka, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, Chief Ayo Adebanjo are all having their last supper.
ROYAL FATHERS:

Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, will still return to one wife, has he is a Child of covenant. All the Women present in his palace will evaporate one by one, then he will be forced to ask God for divine direction
Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the Awujale of Ijebu land should tidy up his house, he will depart shortly after the election.
Oba Rilwan Akinolu of Lagos should pray and watch over his health.
Sultan of Sokoto, Emir Saadu Abubakar, should be prepaid for an heavy task, especially in peace brokerage in the next government
ENTERTAINMENT:

Davido again will be bereaved. I see him dragging with a strong covenant that is beyond is age.
Almost all the entertainers have sold their soul to Satan and this will come hunting them in the year 2023, except they repent and restitute.
Bayo Salami AKA Oga Bello, Chief Lere Paimo Aka Eda Onileola, Idowu Philip Aka Iya Ranbow, Madam Grace Oyin Adejobi Aka Iya Osogbo, Pete Edochie and Chiwetalu Agu, should all hand over their mantle to their favorites as the journey is near.
ON THE INTERNATIONAL SCENE:

Russian and Ukraine war will continue with Putin been the main target. I see Putin end in a short time.
American and China economy will suffer a decline in the first quarter of Year 2023, but will later exhibit remarkable strengths of growth as the year goes bye.
Covid restrictions will again be effective in many nations of the world and another deadly virus is on the way, but this time it will be restricted to the original domain.

PoliticsOkowa: We Must 'sweet Talk' Peter Obi's Supporters Not To Waste Their Votes by tinsel(op): 12:00pm On Dec 31, 2022
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Vice presidential candidate in 2023 election, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has appealed to members of the party to go and convince supporters of Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, not to waste their votes.

Okowa, who is also the governor of Delta spoke on Friday at a campaign rally in Aboh, Ndokwa East local government area of the state.

He affirmed that while Obi cannot win the 2023 presidential election, he will take away votes from the PDP, thus enhancing the possibility of the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC at the poll.

“We know that the Labour Party is not going anywhere and we need to sweet talk the party supporters not to waste their votes.

“Those supporters wishing to vote for the Labour Party are only indirectly helping APC and trying to reduce the vote of PDP.

“So, please go and plead with Labour Party supporters to return to PDP and join hands with us to change Nigeria for the better,” Okowa said.

The Governor said God would determine who Nigeria’s next president would be and not the G5 governors who he said are working to truncate the Akiku Abubakar-Ifeanyi Okowa presidential ticket.

He also expressed optimism that the G5 governors would eventually reconcile with the party and work for the victory of Atiku-Okowa ticket and the PDP in the 2023 election.

Okowa said, “God has said it that we the PDP will win this election. Many things may be happening now and people may be asking what about the G5 governors?

“These governors are our brothers; everybody is important. But what God has said will happen, nobody can change it. So, even if some of them decide to support APC, some will still remain with us because there will be division among them.

“The real truth is that I have strong political eyes and I have observed that no matter what they do, PDP will win the forthcoming election, by the grace of God.

“It is only the power of God that can help us to win. So, no matter what the G5 said, that they would work with APC or any other party, we will win.

“We the PDP are ready to change the so-called previous change. Therefore, everyone should go and get his or her PVC,” he said.

“The APC has finished Nigeria. They promised change in 2015 but they have destroyed our dear country with insecurity, hunger and poverty. To solve the insecurity challenge, we will amend the Constitution to allow State Police.

“The Atiku-Okowa presidency will restructure Nigeria by allowing states to have more funds and more responsibilities to better the lots of Nigerians.

“We will amend the Constitution to give more powers and resources to states and local governments and we will encourage a private sector-led economy.

“Our economy was doing well prior to 2015, but the APC came and destroyed it again.

“Nigerians are poorer and hungry because the economy is not good and when the economy is not working, there will be no jobs, because it is a good economy that brings industries.

“We have gone round a lot of states in the country and I can assure you that Nigerians have resolved to sack the APC,” he further

PoliticsInside G-5 Governors’ Deal With Tinubu - Vanguard by tinsel(op): 2:14pm On Dec 30, 2022
The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu apparently holds the aces in the deal being worked out with the Governor Nyesom Wike-led G-5 Peoples Democratic Party Governors ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Vanguard gathered on Friday that the APC candidate whose election comes first, has agreed to the deal in principle.

Acting on the confidence of the party’s structure and geo-political spread, the APC candidate it was gathered, will be insulated from making any financial commitment to the G-5 or the party’s candidates whose positions are being sacrificed.

The usually reliable source said “Having considered the odds, G5 I can tell you have cast their lot with Asiwaju.

“Agreement is signed, sealed and waiting for delivery. As part of the deal, Asiwaju is to deflate his party’s campaign in the respective states to accommodate the interests of the G5.

“We all know that Asiwaju is APC, and APC is Asiwaju. The APC is to concede positions of G5 interests as follows: Rivers- Governorship seat , Abia- Abia South Senate, Enugu-Gov Ugwuanyi Senate seat, Benue- Gov Ortom Senate seat, Oyo- Governorship seat for Makinde.”

The source noted to the uninitiated, the case of Oyo State is complex and appears untenable but that the situation on ground points to its simplicity.

According to the source, “The APC candidate is expected to simply withhold finance and moral support for guber candidate in order to reduce intensity of campaign against Makinde.

“This is further simplified by the fact that as at today, there are effectively three factions in the state. Teslim Folarin, controls one, remnants of the Accord Party who collapsed into the APC are on their own and the legacy parties: Action Congress of Nigeria, Congress for Progressives Change and the All Nigeria Peoples Party that came together to form APC-they consider Folarin a usurper and are determined to fight him.”

The source further said, “It is not for nothing that aside from Tinubu’s open instruction to Folarin to reconcile aggrieved members sometime in June this year, neither the party nor the Presidential candidate have made any serious effort to reconcile them.”

Asked whether the issue of the state campaign being starved of funds will not be counterproductive, the source said, “Of course, there will be complimentary funds from the National body but tell you what, it will be channeled through Makinde‘s allies within APC ranks who will know when and how to deploy. In politics as in war, timing is a key component of strategy.”
