@ JJYOU Don't try to be a smart alec or a wise ass cos you end up showing how dumb you are. when you travel by road, have you ever taken time to observe ticket cos it covers your insurance. unless maybe you travel with those road side buses that don't give you a ticket. ABC, GroundAir Travel, Chisco, Cross Country and a host of others offer you a ticket which states their terms of service which stipulates the insurance that covers you as a passenger so pls if you aint got nothing to say keep silent and don't play dumb. |
Ok now for frequent air travellers in Nigeria who are looking for better and cheaper deals as per good customer service and low air fares, I believe that the Aero "Fly More For Less" promo is mouth watering and kinda implies that anyone can fly for almost free but how many of us have taken time to go through the booking process online? For those of us who have, you'll get to discover lots of irregularities. 1 - Adults and kids(2yrs - 12yrs) pay the same fare. ask how? 3 Adlts and 1 child pay NGN60000 when you get NGN15000 available. 1 adult and 3 kids pay the same NGN60000 for a one way trip despite the fact that online you see ADT fare NGN15000 CHD fare NGN7427. 2- No Insurance. Now this is the most alarming. When you book online with AERO and you get the low fares ranging from NGN7000, NGN10000 and NGN15000, as you proceed with your booking, you get to the page were you have to select the type of Insurance Cover you need ranging from NGN1500 to NGN5000. Where you select an insurance type, you have to pay the fare you got plus the cost of insurance. Therefore, to fly at the low fare as advertised, you have to select no insurance cover. Now what does this imply? In the event of any mishap or disaster, the airline does not owe you or your family any insurance cos there is nothing to claim. I wonder what FAAN, NCAA, IOSA and other bodies have to say about this when AERO takes to the air with nothing less than 35 passengers booked on their low fares without insurance policies. We aint praying for another air disaster but where it happens, who will the families hold responsible? This is a serious one that our FG and all Aviation Governing bodies have to take a closer look at. |
@ poster 4rm ur narration, i don't c u as perverted or loose or a nympho. i've always admired sista's who aint shy to take d initiative and most guys do so pls relax. i guess ur dude is d one with d issues. its most guys dream 2 have a sista who aint shy and ever willing but sometimes some of us open our bloody mouths and call u sistas hos. i c a sista 2 be loose only when she can't keep her legs closed 2 all and sundry. but if u want it 4rm him and only him and he is slacking then i guess u shuld sort it out with him and think of looking elsewhere(not just 4 sex but a real relatnship). |
@ larryx glad u deduced ur error but all d same no hard feelings @ my end. as 4 ur cv, pls do try to keep it simple and straight to the point. avoid bogus tales of accomplishments and achievements dat can not be defended by u. stick 2 d essentials and pls try 2 avoid d use of colors and improper font size. ur info should follow sequentially starting 4rm primary education and culminating in ur present position or qualification. it culd also be vice-versa. ur career objective shuld be realistic and not ficticious. referees r not 2 vital so they could be omitted on the cv but pls indicate that they will be made available on demand. dats all 4 now. |
@ chyemma well i don't really know ur chances now because ur experience will only com in2 play after d test and interviews. and the advert says "good university degree", so i don't really know but i believe that life is a risk and it's all about taking chances so what d hell? apply and c what happens. |
@ larry x "guy" u stand a chance as d nxt person. it's d way ur cv is formatted and presented dat gets u invited 4 an apt test cos its ur cv dat sells u then ur ability 2 scale thru d apt test and proceeding interviews dat wuld place u where u wanna be and not wat u studied as long as u dont limit urself. |

@ IVY4U I really don't get d following abt "no ties" IVY4U:as 4 ur training, well its all gud and u've got 2 do wat u gotta do, but believe me when i say that even if u join virgin as an experienced pilot, u still must go thru our own training and u must pass it inorder to be taken. though having experience stands u in good stead. if u need anymore insight, dont hesitate 2 holla. @ DESHIE I tot u guys re serious people.i got a txt msge from oceanic inviting me 4 a test in enugu.i stay in lagos.i had 2 rally round 4 money.i got the msge on wednesday 2 go to enugu 4 d test on thursday,if u were in my shoe, what will u have done?please be very matured & stop insulting people.you guys don't have manners at all.by their fruit ye shall know them.maybe thats how u guys re brought up.no be una fault.the seriousness of members of this forum is not for you to demean or impugn because u should have stated your case clearly inorder 2 avoid attacks. but anyways as far as am concerned u deserve an answer so anyone who has d info u need shuld either give it or bone it. @ Belbicken wise (naughty) people of the east. why can't you learn from your west conterpart in the house who are ready to share any job info to fellow house mate. your own is after you have gone to write the test you now remember the is a forum to ask question. igbo with yeye sense, ope you make out of the test .useless question.prejudice is for shallow minds. so all those who wrote d test in enugu must be ibos, right? even if they are, is anyone under any obligation to inform u about any test? people who put up useful info here for d benefit of others do it of their own free will and not under compulsion. so do not take out your frustration on someone who failed to drop info because he aint responsible 4 your not being employed presently. we all shuld learn how 2 respect other peoples views, orientation and opinions. i hope u get d message because i aint got beef with u but wit your attack on a tribe. that is plain tribalism. no long thing. |
@ site owner(seun), administrator and forum moderator the rate at which nairaland is been used as a medium of channeling traffic to people's personal blogspots these days is very alarming. gone are the days when we see messages like: CBN recruits go to http://www.cenbank.org/jobs/jobsatcbn.asp for online application rather what we get is : CBN recruits go to www.them.mama.blog.spot.com (please remove dots in the site name) or stuff like Vacancy for Executive trainees(Banking)some peeps go as far as begging that you visit their inorder to get a job. now my questions are: what is the use of the job forum on nairaland in the first place? why must we get career pages of organizations only through personal blogspots? why must we visit these blogspots since they all carry incomplete info after all? and finally, what is been done to curb this "visit my " menace on nairaland? I don tire. |
@ Aliu_mjo tnx a lot dude 4 ur piece, it was really helpful. nice having someone like u around. |
@ merlin dude d call was 4 those who applied 4 d posts of DM (Duty Manager) and TRA (Ticketing and Reservations Agent) and it was Enugu state. Please I would like to know if any one has useful info abt LISA POWER PLANT Aba and their plans of recruitment. As in, is there an organization by that name? If yes, are they recruiting? And did any one get an invitation 4rm them stating they would bear 50% of cost on transportation while they would provide accommodation for those invited to a test/interview scheduled for Tuesday 29th of July. Can this be true in Nigeria? In a place like Aba. |
@ topic guys am really tired of dis 0802. it first started as Econet then moved on to Vodacom then VMobile b4 it became Celtel now it is about to turn to Zain NG. How come it's d only network with problems? if it aint financial, its administrative problems or even technical. Glo has been Glo since it started. the same for MTN. na wa oooooooohhhhhhhh. |
@ topic still on the VNA recruitment that was carried out in Enugu this week, I will say that all went well. had d interview with them abt 11:30 am on 23rd of this month as was stated in my earlier reply to this topic. was drilled and quizzed 4 over an hour before I was told that I was free to go and expect 2 hear from them within 10 days so I'ld say dat the wait is on though I hope things would go as it has been going so far and the wait won't exceed the expected period. For those yet 2 have their IT test and interview, you are to expect in the IT test stuff on MS Excel and Word. Its all about basic computer knowledge. for the Excel, you would be given a list of items and their amounts in Naira to be entered in different columns under specific Titles that correspond with the items after which you would be expected to sum them to get their sub totals and then the grand total. very easy stuff to be done under 15 mins. font size to be used is specified in the instructions which you are expected to adhere to. As for MS Word, you would be asked to retype an Essay consisting of 3 or 4 paragraphs with specified font size for title and the body of the essay after which you would insert a diagram in the essay using clip art then you would round up by adding a footer specifying author's name (which should be yours) date and page number. This too is expected to take you 15 mins so try to be fast and accurate. But most importantly, read the instructions thoroughly cos you would be expected to save your work in a specified folder and not on desktop or my documents or any other folder. Failure to do so, it would be assumed that you didn't do the IT test. For the interview, It is structured to tackle technical and social aspects of your life including professional history and how you've been able to handle challenges both in the work place and any other setting. You would also be asked about your course and it's relationship to the position applied for. Also expect personal and trivial questions like your best author and type of movies you enjoy watching. Be bold and courageous. Try to know a bit about the functions and duties of the position you applied for. Finally, please ask them questions too. @ godfadda6 guy, you mentioned a second IT test after your interview. Pls brief me here on what it was like so I could be prepared incase am called for that. Tanx. |
@ topic talking about Virgin Nigeria and how dey call, I want u guys to check this out: i had there test here in enugu on monday d 21st of this month, IT skill test was yesterday 22nd and am about 2 enter for the interview scheduled for 2day by 11 am. so how about that? i hope 2 do my best and will keep u'all posted because d whole thing still feels like am in a good dream i don't want 2 wake up from. |

@ topic Fellow landers, I have read all your posts and I believe you all said whatever you must have said based on your knowledge and enlightenment level but let us not just disregard what the excuse Fani put up regarding the cause of all the plane crashes under Borishade's tenure. Toks made a big point though I would have put it differently i.e Fani shouldn't have brought up the occult as a reason behind the crashes since it can not be scientifically proven. His excuse only shows how fast(or slow) he uses his brain when he has to present an acceptable tale to Nigerians like when he was SA to OBJ. But let's not forget that the crashes happened not in his tenure but in Borishade's tenure. I would also like us to take our mind back to when Borishade was Education Minister. I am talking about the level of cultism at the time and how he handled the matter. That was during the OAU and Ibadan cult massacres, just to highlight the prominent ones. That was the first time he was first linked to an Occult group and he didn't bother denying the allegations at the time rather he was like "it" (being cultism) made him untouchable. This led to the serious outcry from many religious leaders when he was appointed Minister of Aviation. Many of them foresaw nothing but doom and woes ahead and time proved them right. Notwithstanding, I do believe what Nigerians expected to hear from Kayode was how the money (be it 11 or 8 or 6 billion naira) was spent. I don't think his case with the Senate Committee is on the cause of the crashes. |
Pls I would like to know if any of our Nigerian Banks offer the service of rendering financial assistance to students who intend to further their studies outside the shores of Nigeria. Am talking abt sumting like an EDULOAN. If anyone is aware of any bank rendering such service pls do post ur reply here. tanx. |
