Everything stated in this article is the GOSPEL! I hope most Nigerians get to see that the present administration is doing everything possible to salvage Nigeria from the damage caused by the past administration. |
physise: nawa o y u go call 121?load 1h card n subscribe to 10mb plan it should workThanks, but your explanation isn't clear enough. I can't subscribe to a daily plan with an active Monthly plan, so kindly state how it is possible. Thanks once again. |
Please guys, I tried the Airtel BBUM subscription on my Nokia phone & got 2GB worth of data. But it isn't opening any app or web page. I have been using the BCM without issues on Nokia Asha and X2-02 whenever I need data for the sim in my modem. Please how do I get the 2GB to be useful cos I've called 121 and spoken with an agent who says their engineering dept would look into my issue and get back to me within 24hrs. I would appreciate a clear explanation on the way out of this issue. Thanks. |
IykeWest: Hehehehehehehe! Thanks bro! I will just be lifting and see where it ends,so far i have been noticing alot,nd when it comes to strength, lemme use power, when it comes to power, the more you get the more you want,nd thats not gud. But,do u look buff? Asin re u ripped? Honestly i don't really care what people think,i just gat natural swagger that people dig and my dad hates,i do things i like just last week i plaited my hair and my dad was beefin hehehehehe,i had to loosen it cos he was threatening he will kick me out of the house, empty threat, since the last fight i had with a chick in pri skul, she beat my ass so bad, biggest shame of my life, since then i tot i was week, till last week when i had a brawl with my dad,he was punching nd i was like u punch like a girl, hehehehehe i tot if he gave me the first punch i will collapse but i didn't,i just found out,i was nd still stronger than i thought i was! Am no longer afraid.Mr Iyke, pls pardon my contribution, but I think u are engaging in a very risky venture, by carrying weights, for the very wrong reasons. I know that we live in a world that is ruled by the "survival of the fittest motto", but over time, it has become apparent that the fitness isn't necessarily in brawn, but in brains. I mean, have u seen people who engage in body building, and what they look like when they stop, or when they are aged? It is no pleasant sight, talk less of physical discomfort occasioned by maladjustment. To even read that u challenged ur dad physically is not palatable. U should be better than that. I've never fought before, not because I can't, but because I would take it to the extreme. So there's no need for that. I engage in body trimming as stated in my earlier post. But no heavy stuff cos of side effects. I am trim and I've got abs. What do I need muscles for? Not like it's gonna stop bullets from penetrating or a blade from cutting me up. I stick to developing my brain man. Do not let the way people look at u put u down. Remember that u are whatever u say u are, and not what people say. As for the leg ulcer, well, I dunno what u've been treating it with, but when I went through that phase, I learnt that no hot/harsh stuff should ever go it, viz: spirit, iodine and hydrogen peroxide. NO! Rather, it should be cleaned with Eusol solution every other day, and a certain cream applied on it (sorry I never got the name of the cream from the orthopedic nurse that helped with mine cos I think he prepared it himself). Always rest ur feet in an elevated position while sitting, e.g with a stool. While sleeping, make sure u have wool socks on to maintain a certain temperature to help it heal. Avoid tight foot wears, e.g socks and shoes. Infact, never wear shoes until it's completely healed. Stick to sandals and slip-on. Regularly take Vitamin C and E (the big one) to help ur body metabolize excess iron so the sores from the ulcer could heal. Stay strong and stay BLESSED! |
Abali1: ^^^^ Abali1: I need to hug this guy ohh! Where have you been?I have been around man, and readily accessible. Thanks for starting this thread. My contact info is available on my profile for anyone who wants to link up. But please, let me sound a note of warning: IF YOU GET IN TOUCH WITH ME TO START HAVING A PITY PARTY, OR STUFF LIKE THAT, I WOULD EMBARRASS YOU TO THE POINT WHERE YOU'D CONTEMPLATE SUICIDE. I need to sleep now. Have been studying all day. |
Kudos to the young man who started this thread. You are indeed a WARRIOR! I have taken out time to read through every comment since after the OP started the thread, and I must confess that I have not come across a more intelligent convo since I became a member on Nairaland. Anyways, I am Bryte. I am a WARRIOR too. Though you wouldn't know it if you met me in person. I detest referring to SC/SS as a disease, cos it isn't. The most acceptable term is condition/mutation. Living with it can be quite challenging, and it makes the victim develop some weird habits. For instance, you would think I am either Lot's wife, or a relative, with the way am so conscious about getting caught out in the rain. Sometimes my junior bro makes jokes whenever we are hanging out with friends and I point out that it's about to rain. He sometimes asks if the roof of the joint will cave in, or if our vehicle is a convertible we purchased without the hood. My phobia for rain was formed during the times I was caught out in the rain as a kid. The crisis I had to put up with due to the cold is something that I pray no one should ever experience. I would say I have experienced all the life threatening phases of living with SC/SS, and I've weathered them all. I am still standing. I still have my wits about me. My brain is still sharp and my sarcasm still very much alive. Growing up was fun. That's how I would like to classify it. I mean there's no greater fun than staring death in the face and beating it every time. My mum once said that the only time she would panic during any of my crisis is when I no longer have a pun to drop, or don't give a sarcastic response to any question that I consider unnecessary. In my own case, I do not blame my parents for my condition. They really had no idea about the concept of genotype when they got married. And before they could appreciate my situation, they had given birth to 3 kids already, and my mum was pregnant for the fourth. It made them so devastated and skeptical that our last born, the fifth child was born 4 yrs after the fourth, whereas there is a 2yr gap between the first four. Out of 5 of us, 2 of us are warriors, myself and my immediate junior sis. We are still intact, pursuing our various endeavors. When it comes to meds, I think I've taken everything, except Cellod-S. But for some years now, I have been on NOTHING. I try to take my anti-malaria stuff every 6 months. Crisis is now ever so rare. I do have Diclofenac SR handy though, just for when it sneaks up on me. It helps me with severe pain. But for minor pains, I go with Panadol Extra. Truth is, I hate meds, but you can imagine how it is for one who has a condition where you should have a mobile chemist handy. Whenever the crisis can't be controlled by the Diclofenac, I get an infusion to help dilate my veins. Once the infusion starts coursing through my veins, I begin to feel relief. As for the severity of crisis, I think it varies from person to person. Like I said earlier, I have been through all life threatening stages of SC/SS. I have had crisis where my shin bone in both legs cracked vertically. You wouldn't even need an x-ray to see it. Mere running your hands down my legs would make you aware of the cracks in the bone. I was skinny then so you would be sure of what you were touching. I have also had leg ulcers. That was when I got my first job. Just below the ankles of both legs. They actually cost me my job cos I had to resign so as to get full time medical attention. I still have scar tissue on the spots. I once had swelling/protrusions on my head when I was in my 1st year in university. Made me start wearing woolen hats and miss school for some weeks. People saw the hats as a fashion style, or a cult label cos it was more or less dark coloured head-warmers. Only my immediate family members knew what lay beneath the warmer. I remember one day I couldn't make it to out to the sitting room, so I was lying in the bedroom without the warmer and one of my aunts came in to see me. I can never forget the look on her face when she saw the swellings on my head. Her expression made me burst out in serious laughter, even before I greeted her. During our conversation, I realized that she was using her questions to ascertain if the swellings indicated a defect in my mental capacity. I later found out that she feared I had brain tumors. I weathered that too. Presently, am getting an M.Sc in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Not working though. My immediate junior sis got an M.Sc before myself and she's working. She's actually an expert in French Language cos that's what she studied up to M.Sc level. Our parents did everything withing their ability to preserve our lives when we were little kids. My dad was being bled like a sacrificial lamb whenever we needed blood. Sometimes he donated for both of us within 7 days. It was that bad. They tried both orthodox and traditional remedies. My dad was miraculously spared by GOD from the hands of armed robbers on one of his trips to the University of Ile Ife to get roots from a professor back then. But what I admired most was their faith. After being put down by guilt when they realized their error in being ignorant about their genotype, they dedicated all their resources to knowing about SC/SS. And they believed that they would not lose myself or my sis. We adopted that faith from them. And the moment I could think for myself, I started reading every literature on the condition. Till date, I keep up with latest developments in the management of the condition. I have come across some contradicting information from professionals about the management of the condition. But there are some consistencies too. I NEVER over stress myself. I ALWAYS listen to my body. I DO NOT smoke or take lager beer like water. I only do on very rare occasions, and never exceed a can of star or 2 cans of smirnoff ice. No more. I take plenty of water. I EAT everything. I LOVE my proteins and vegetables. I do my sit-ups and push-ups cos I realized that the abs make the ladies go gaga. I maintain my body weight at 67kg. No more, no less. I observed that I fall ill often when I am over 67kg. I ALWAYS stay positive in every condition. And I pursue my dreams. No room for depression, or negative thoughts. People with SC/SS are like everyday people. But the truth is that they have a higher mental capacity, and people tend to misunderstand them a lot. Even family members. Not a boast but, I actually have one of the highest IQ's in black Africa. Trust GOD to know how to compensate people who are lacking in one aspect. HE sure knows how to balance things out. WARRIORS have a weird sense of humuor. And they are very fluent in sarcasm. Majority of us don't like to be pitied. If you must know about our condition, empathize and don't sympathize with us. Most of the girls I dated back in my university days never knew my health condition. WE ARE NOT MARKED FOR DEATH as most people think. People that don't have SC/SS die everyday from very careless things, so why the extra pity? Like it was said in Mortal Kombat, SAVE YOUR PITY FOR THE WEAK. WARRIORS aren't weak cos in truth, the pain we go through during crisis can actually drive someone with AA/AS insane. FACT! Besides, since I stopped experiencing crisis, I became the healthiest member of my family. I don't suffer all those other minor afflictions. But, I DREAD malaria seriously cos in my case, if I can stay over 12months without malaria, then I would have no complain whatsoever. So that's about it people. |
For those going to Ilorin from Owerri, sequel to my post on https://www.nairaland.com/1178934/nimc-2012-2013-interview-date/4, the only available vehicle that moves direct to Ilorin from Owerri is Kwara Express. They operate out of ITC park along MCC road. Departure days are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays only. Departure time is between 7 and 8am, though they could leave earlier. Fare is 4,060 or thereabouts. I am sure this solves the issue of transportation. On how to save cost, I want to believe that everyone invited for the test must have experienced NYSC. Basing on that, I would suggest that we all could double-team with anyone of your choice to share a hotel room or room in a guest house. That way, the cost would be halved. It is just a suggestion. You can take it or ignore it. Since mine is for the 23rd which is a Saturday, I would be leaving on Thursday. So people in my shoes will find themselves spending more on accommodation cos of the extra day(s). It could be longer if there is no vehicle heading down to the east the day after we are done with the test. That means another day more. Hence the suggestion. My contact details are on my earlier post. |

I have also been posted to Uni-Ilorin for the test on the 23rd of February. I will be going down there from Owerri. For all those saying they wouldn't make the trip cos of the rot in Government recruitment processes, no one says the rot is not there. But believe me when I say that lots of youths in this country still get mouth watering jobs - be they government, multi-nationals or private - without knowing anybody, or paying a dime. I know lots like that, and am also one of such. And that's why I applied for the NIMC cos I need a change now and I know I will get it. It's all about having a positive mind set and never doubting what GOD can do for you. No human connection compares to GOD. All am saying is get yourself together, hustle some money, travel down to wherever you've been directed to go and give it a shot. You just might be surprised at the outcome. For some at the Ilorin center that posted their numbers here, I've tried calling but can't get through to any of you. My numbers are 08038934795 and 08024172702. No flashing please cos I never call back flashers even if the sky is falling down (my principle). Those on Whatsapp can reach me via the Airtel Line. Other contact info can be found on my profile. I will go out today to find out the transport companies that run straight from Owerri to Ilorin. Y'all should endeavour to help each other. That was one benefit I enjoyed from Nairaland back in 2007 when I joined. |
I activated the Airtel BCM 2 for 1 plan today, and I got 3GB data for 3 months and I am connecting to the internet easily on my phone. But, my problem is that it isn't connecting on my laptop at all like the BSM was doing cos I use my phone as my modem. I keep getting a message stating that I should check my internet settings, or contact my service provider. I don't know what else to do cos my settings are intact and I've even reconfigured the settings just to be double sure. Am in a mess now that might last for 3 months. |
I have a Nokia X2-02 that is only 3wks old. Am @ okota in isolo... Call me on 08098701013 |
@ deji2009 I just ran the Windows7UpgradeAdvisor and the in it's report, it included High Definition Audio Device as compatible with my lappy passing all system requirements. So what's next? |
@ tipsy, i suggest you try to install the macintosh os back on it!!!@ 4llerbuntu: I wonder how you arrived at the questions you put up there in your bid to render assistance to my problem. First of all, I never claimed to be a computer guru like some of you here. Having a laptop or a pc does not make one a computer guru. If you have been following this thread, you would have observed some months ago when I said my mac had booting issues. So since I ain't a guru like you, I took it to someone to have it fixed. He said my external disc drive must be faulting cos it couldn't read the Mac installation CD's that came with my lappy when he tried to reinstall. After much trials by him, he said it was easier for him to install Windows 7 instead of the previous Mac. So when you say I should get the Leopard back on, how do you suggest I do it. I am open to suggestions. As for something I omitted to tell you, I wonder why that would be since I can't get assistance if the person to give it doesn't know the full gist. In your bid to assist, try to be polite. @ deji2009: tnx man, am gonna download and run the Windows7UpgradeAdvisorSetup you sent about a week ago. I haven't gotten round to doing it cos I've not been in an area with access to the Internet. Will hit you back with my success or failure, whatever the case may be. |
@ paccino hey! pls i sent a message 2 ur email addy 2 days ago where i made an enquiry about an issue, am still awaiting your response. |
@ ZIM DRILL I would say thanks for your response but I'ld also like you to know that I went through 1 - 150 of All Solutions put up on Apple Support site but couldn't find a solution to the problem. I've actually searched through the support site previously but had to do so again in case I over looked something. I just feel too bad about the whole thing. |
So sorry guys, I just saw d post for computer issues and have copied my request over there. Starting this topic here was an oversight on my part and am sorry. Mod and the house do bear with me. |
Hello house, Pls I have a problem. My MacBook Air went bonkers some months ago and I couldn't reinstall the Mac leopard OS after that so went ahead to install Windows 7 on it. Ever since then, I have not had audio on the lappy. I tried downloading Boot Camp 3.1 hoping it would resolve the issue but I got no where with it. Right now I got no clue on what next to do so I'ld really appreciate it if anyone would come up with a solution for me cos it really sucks right now as I use my laptop to watch movies whenever am on the road and you all can imagine what it's like to watch Spartacus without audio. Tongue Cry Am looking forward to solutions from anyone. Thanks. |

Some times, I wonder why the dichotomy between the salary structure of Federal and State workers even exist. My question still remains do the federal workers shop in a different market? Do they exist in a society different from that of the state workers? If the answer is NO, then why increase the purchasing power of one lot while the other get's no boost when they both exist in the same society and purchase in the same market? It's not like federal workers are only based in Abuja. In a state that has both federal and state establishments, we find one group been taken care of better than the other. Now this part is for the Federal arm that arrive at such decisions. On the part of the state governors, most especially the south eastern ones, why can't they pay that which was agreed upon to be enjoyed by their workers? considering that almost all of them included their states as part of the oil producing areas (though am yet to see the oil coming out from them), are their allocations less than what other state governments get? And they all want to rule forever. Imagine the governor of Imo State telling the members of ASUU in a meeting he had with them 2 weeks ago that he won't be prepared to attend to them until April. Is that not indicative of the fact that monies meant to offset their salaries have been mapped out to ensure a continued stay in office through the forth coming elections? What the so called governors want to achieve is to put other peoples children in the unfortunate situation where they will be mobilized to carry out criminal acts for them so as to keep themselves busy and to make money during the strike period while their own kids acquire the best education in U.A.E, U.K, Sweden, U.S.A and other places. One thing I know for certain is that all these bad leaders will definitely get their comeuppance sooner or later no matter how well they think they have got themselves insured against ill fortunes. |
Most people derive pleasure in using the word "SCAM", maybe cos it's very easy to spell. In this case, before you call the idea of paying NGN6500 a scam, do ask if the money is being paid to MOBITEL or THE HIGH COURT. Secondly, ask yourself if Mobitel is in control of the High Court in Lagos. I bet most people thinking it's scam when they are required to pay their bills. @ Poster: If you feel that the job ain't worth paying a sum for an affidavit, then ignore it for others. But try to apply wisdom as you arrive at your conclusions. |
@ deji2009 hey man, i've tried the re-install on my MacBook Air with the installation cd dat came along with my lappy but i ran into some hitches, when re-installing, i was given d option to archive and install or erase and install, i went with d archive n install option and the system started a consistency check, only 4 it to get to 44% and indicated that it could not read the disk that i should eject the disk, clean it and restart, i attempted this 3 more times and the farthest i got was 57% b4 d same message so i started afresh and went for the erase and install so as to avoid the consistency check but i keep getting the same message @ a particular point, this lappy is giving me sleepless nights, am counting on u 2 point me in d nxt direction solution wise, tnx!!! |
@ deji2009 tnx mate 4 ur concise explanation. will try d reinstall option 2day. will let u knw how it turns out. am really grateful 4 ur response. |
Hello guys, pls I am in desperate need of ur assistance. My MacBook Air recently stopped booting, I used it last on the 4th of July and shut it down normally but when I switched it on the nxt day, it attempted booting b4 displaying "You Need To Restart Your Computer By Holding Down The Power Button For Several Seconds or By Pressing The Restart Button." When I hold down the power button for several seconds, it goes off. I have tried the Left Shift + Control + Option + Enter Key to no avail, I also tried the Option + Command + P + R simultaneously after the first chime it makes when it comes on to get it to chime again but it still displays the same message, I have run out of options at my end and what is left for me to do is to send it to Apple Inc. so they could look into it themselves but I can't embark on such expenses at this time. I would highly appreciate it if anyone can come up with a solution that I do not know off but that does not entail having to open up the base cos that is a complete No-No. Thanks. |
As for me, I doubt the death of any artist/artiste in the Nigerian music industry would move me the way DaGrin's did. I felt more for him than I felt for MJ and believe me that's something cos when MJ died I was like "damn!!! too bad." But for DaGrin, I really felt the pain deep inside for someone I hardly knew except through his raps. The funny part of the whole thing is that am igbo and don't even understand a word of what he says still he got me stunned with his style and delivery. R.I.P. DaGrin. |
@ Kushe guy ur response is d best i came across. u r a dude after my own heart. it's no lie dat d best form of defense is attack. d poster needs 2 take d game 2 her and let's see how she can cope wit it. some peeps advised d poster to report his errant boss. poster do not try dat at all cos it will never favor u. trust me, cos am speaking 4rm experience. u will be seen as one who has issues wit constituted authority. so even if u r relocated 2 another branch or zone, d story goes b4 u. d reception dat will be accorded u will neva be favorable. so all u need do is face her squarely and see if she is woman enuff 2 go d whole 9 yards. but as majority have alredi said, back ur a.ss up. take out enuf insurance policies. neva let her feel threatened. just be a nice, friendly, compliant subordinate. u stand 2 gain a lot at d end of d day. |
bawomolo:guy u really cracked me up with dat line. pretty nice response. @ Topic. The husband must be a BIG FOOL to let things get to that level. No member of his family is supposed to lay hands on his wife for whatever reason. Ain't he the man of the home? He should take charge. Whatever ill his wife has done is not to be attended to by anyone but himself and it should in no way warrant physical molestation. If I happen to experience such, I guess I'ld end up getting locked up cos that brother of mine will have to reason out his actions in the afterlife. But what am I saying, It can't happen to me. No way. Secondly, if my sister happens to be in such a position then I sympathize with her cos she's gonna become a widow too soon. No matter gets to hear about the slapping incident amongst me and my brothers, the result will be the same. The slapper of a brother-in-law would wish he was never born and the husband who can't protect my sister will wish he paid attention to all those who advised him against marrying my sister. In my family, men don't lay hands on women no matter what. Marital issues are best resolved by the couple in question. In-laws are kept at a distance. That's my family setup and that's what I believe in. |
