Again the FCIU bus only checked traffic behind him on the other side.

MAIDUGURI, Nigeria — Boko Haram extremists killed at least 27 people by shooting them and slitting their throats as they attacked several villages in northern Nigeria’s Borno state in the past week, residents said.

Such deadly attacks in recent months have pressured Nigeria’s government to increase its efforts against a homegrown Islamic extremist group it last year declared to be “crushed.”

Boko Haram fighters entered villages in the Nganzai area on Wednesday, slitting throats and using guns to kill at least 15 people while injuring two others, said Modu Jialta, a member of a local self-defense group. The attackers also burned homes.

Residents weren’t able to get to the bodies for burial until Friday, Jialta said.

Suspected Boko Haram fighters also attacked in the Guzamala local council area on Wednesday, killing 12 people and injuring at least four, said Mai Abatcha Monguno, the commander of the council’s citizen defense forces.

Northern Borno state is the birthplace and stronghold of Boko Haram. Bunu Bukar, secretary of the hunters’ association there, said more government support and better equipment is needed to combat the extremists.

Boko Haram’s eight-year insurgency has displaced millions in Nigeria and neighboring countries and killed more than 20,000 people.

In a speech to the nation on Monday, President Muhammadu Buhari vowed to “reinforce and reinvigorate the fight” against Boko Haram, which he accused of “attempting a new series of attacks on soft targets.”

A South Korean court has found Lee Jae-yong, the de facto chief of the sprawling Samsung business empire, guilty of bribery and other corruption charges.
Lee, the billionaire son of Samsung's ailing chairman, was sentenced to five years in prison on Friday, well short of the 12-year sentence prosecutors had sought.
The criminal conviction is a blow for Samsung, the world's largest smartphone maker and South Korea's biggest family-run conglomerate whose businesses are estimated to account for around 15% of the country's entire economy.
The so-called "trial of the century" has gripped South Korea for months. It's part of a huge influence-peddling scandal that brought down the government of former President Park Geun-hye.



"The public is disappointed that this kind of large-scale crime caused by cozy relations between politics and business still happens -- it's not in the past but remains a reality," Judge Kim Jin-dong said in court. He also laid some of the blame on Park, saying the former president made "aggressive demands" of Samsung.

Wearing a navy suit and holding a manila envelope, Lee remained seated and silent as the judge read out the verdict.
He was found guilty of bribing Park in exchange for government support for a merger that helped him tighten control over Samsung. The 49-year-old executive, who is also known as Jay Y. Lee, has been the de facto leader of Samsung since his ailing father was left incapacitated by a 2014 heart attack.

The court also found Lee guilty of perjury, concealing criminal profits, embezzlement and hiding assets overseas. Lee has denied any wrongdoing, and his lawyers said Friday they reject the court's decision and will appeal immediately.
Prosecutors presented Lee as a savvy tycoon who knew exactly what he was doing when Samsung paid tens of millions of dollars to entities linked to a confidante of Park in order to win government backing for the key merger.
The conviction caps a rocky 12 months for Samsung, beginning with the embarrassing fiasco over its fire-prone Galaxy Note 7 smartphone last fall.

If you carefully read my post, I didn't attack the Army or the Military per se, I went after the law that permits them to even do shiit like this. There is a difference.

Why is it that in some countries, such laws don't exist and yet they are fine? I have seen several videos of United States Marines confronting people who were impersonating them and when you looked at the people they were confronting, it left no doubt in your mind these persons were impersonating soldiers because they even had medals and ranks and even military grade dog tags.

Here is my opinion, if a girl is wearing camouflage leggings for example, that is not even close to a military standard issue uniform and shouldn't be an issue. If a Man is wearing a Camouflage Tee-shirt with VERSACE written across the front, that is not a military uniform and shouldn't be a problem.

I agree that people impersonate Military and para military officers to commit offences, but they also do same with many other professions. People impersonate commercial bus and taxi drivers to commit crimes as well.

My point is the law is silly. I have spent the last 6 months of the year in neighbouring Benin Republic and they also have this Imperosnation law but it's not about the camouflage but actually impersonation. There must be a smarter way around this mess. I mean, the Nigerian Army beat up a Crippled Man in a Wheelchair because he was wearing camouflage trousers.. Who in the F.ucking world would have believed that beggar man was a military officer?

I understand that it is the law, but laws evolve.
