andrewtosin:Most probably, yes! |
Hi Guys, Be careful not to give in to this buying slot of a thing , at this eleventh hour! There’s a certain guy that is usually privy to lists, either N-power, CBN Agric loan, or even recruitments. He picks hopefuls numbers and asks ridiculous things claiming he’s from the office of the CoS. Just be extra careful. Your name may already be on the list and the person probably knows.. clean N1m ontop your head, Lol. So, the only new thing I reliably heard today was that, of the certain number to be recruited per state, some states didn’t even have up to that number interviewed. So they might have most of their interviewees hired and then top up with contract staff especially if they’re from the said states. Resumption is still October! Last lap guys, wish us all the best!! |
Andre92:Lol! Which trip to Mecca? To what end are you doing this? FYI, the GMD was in Maiduguri for Sallah, paid a courtesy call on the Governor on the 12th of August. Came back to Abuja same day. Stop, please! |
Jarus:Oh, Noted pls. I have effected the change. Have a beautiful weekend. |
Enrypech:Lol, yeah? May His bountiful grace find us all, NNPC or elsewhere. Thank you, Sir. |
joobseekar:De Nàda, Amigo. |
olaidefat:2016, Sir. |
joobseekar:Yes Sir, I did apply for the DPR 2016. No Sir, I didn’t get the job. I really can’t say why but I believe the recruitment was a tad transparent, even though it had hiccups at the end. I had colleagues whom I believe got it on merit. Some others went through the window. Others were rumored to have even bought it, sadly. I have it on good authority that NNPC is trying to avoid the hullabaloo of DPR 2016. No I’ve not been paid. |
Jarus:Jarus, Eid Mubarak! The Corporation drafted its most Senior and Experienced Staff amongst others, across all Subsidiaries for the Interview Exercise. They all converged in Abuja for well over 10 days for that assignment, away from their duty posts. I believe the recruitment is one of the current important Projects the the Corporation is embarking on. It is naive to suggest otherwise. Permit me to remind you Sir that the Corporation is still a Parastatal/Agency of Government, under the Federal Ministry of Petroleum with its operations subject to decisions of its Tenders Board, Governing Board, Ministerial Supervision as well as National Assembly standing committee's oversight. What you have painted is typical of what accrues in the Private Sector where there is full independence and near zero external pressure/influence. The Corporation is not immune to bureaucracy typical of Civil Service, let alone political influence. However, I strongly believe the recruitment is transparent and credible thus far. In fact, it might even end with little or no influence depending on how certain things play out (I wish I can say more on this). We all know the President's Chief of Staff is a member of the NNPC Board, this is somewhat a plus to Mgt. I just felt it was needless to run into the arms of 'hungry' new politicians with the recruitment when they could simply end it. DPR 2013 utilized that window period if you recall, NNPC tried same in 2011 but dragged feet till Diezani came and put a halt on it. The union had to protest before she 'okayed' it in 2012. I understand its a whole different scenario now. I don't think I have suggested anything contrary to what you've stated regarding the what is expected of the Board Chair, and his roles. Though it is also pertinent to mention that major contracts approvals and procurement implementation is handled by the Tenders Board while approvals for work programmes and corporate plans/budget is handled by the Governing Board. They are not the same. I work in an Agency under the Presidency. I started a postgraduate program in 2016. It will interest you to know that approvals for something as trivial as Study Leave, or Secondment, Or even Leave of Absence goes all the way to our Governing Council. The SGF is a member of the Council. You can just imagine. Its not the same in some other parastatals. I agree with you some of the concerns may seem to just be over-flogging the issue, as they may have been taken care of already. I wish us all the best. Thanks for engaging! |
There’s simply no reason why this recruitment should surpass this week, honestly. All has been done and dusted. Interestingly, the President is inaugurating his cabinet next week. The management of the Corporation is well aware of what that implies. The President appointed Dr. Thomas John to perform the statutory functions of the Petroleum Minister as it relates to the Corporation (being it’s Board Chair), amongst which is ratifying/signing the recruitment ‘into law’. The coming of a New Minister on August 21st can possibly slur the process onwards, or not. There’s also possibility of influence from other Cabinet Ministers. As regards payments of Transport Fares, it is logical to suggest that it is a bottom-up payment pattern starting mostly with people interviewed on later days. Although, even at that they seem to be ‘picking’. Yesterday, I spoke with someone who had been giving me superb Info, whether there was new updates (as I’m also having conflicts resuming school). Although he’s out of office, he maintained 2nd/3rd week of August for notifications and September for resumption. I just believe current/updated information is air-tight and within certain circle. Let’s keep hope alive. All the best folks! |
Good Day Everyone, It was great reading some of the experiences. It is safe to say there are quite a number of intelligent people just observing the thread. It is well! I am curious as to whether there are EH Reservoir Engineer applicants on this thread, be kind to indicate please if any. I was interviewed on the 1st of July, by Panel 1. It was an interesting one with Questions ranging from Petroleum Economics, Safety, Reservoir Development and experience from my present place of work. I later found out one of the panelist is a Chief Geoscientist with degrees from Ivy League Unis from the UK. NNPC really put forward their best guys for this exercise, from all subsidiaries. While we await the outcomes with Sabr, I wish us all the very best! Cheers! |
mathology5431:Lol! Local boy is honored. |
joobseekar:Well, a lot can change. I believe modalities have been set for the processes and they'd do well to follow through. |
c12112:This is true, I had wanted to reply your earlier post and add a few things some days back but was a tad too busy. I was at the Commission (FCC) yesterday, for a different thing anyway. But it seems there's open communication and they are expecting correspondence within the week. They were busy collating results through last week at the Towers (it used to be summation of CBT and Interview scores). August is sacrosanct, resumption in September. It appears there's a stern directive to deliver a very transparent process (the DPR recruitment 'issues' affected the tenure extension of the Dir., so you can deduce..) I strongly believe a lot of people will be employed, merit-based. The numbers on here are (plus or minus) what they've been saying they'll employ. I wish us all the best, it's an interesting contest. Cheers! |
Onyiridike:Okay ![]() |
tolesky:I know this might still fall under 'speculation', but from their last management meeting, resumption of new intakes is by end of first quarter 2018. |
Pdirac:Exactly my line of thought! But lets see what happens. |

HBP? far from it bro. I was just trying to explain to the original poster if his 4th Dec was sacrosanct then bla bla bla... ![]() |
Onyiridike:lol, no I'm not. You are the recruitment expert, wouldn't you want to give everyone the chance to overcome whatever challenges that may hinder them from showing up for your interview? In my experience over the years, I've observed a minimum of 2 weeks mostly. |
Bekeel:LoL, if you were referring to some of us, it wasn't 12 am where we are . Amen to your prayers! |
modash:I don’t know mate, I just made inferences. It’s usually a week between the diploma guys and GT/EH. |
Onyiridike:I doubt that though, you think they’re in a hurry as we are? Nah They’re well awaythere are people that will have to plan a trip into the country. 2 weeks is the standard, but who knows. Goodluck to you! |
Tamihawtt87:For the first set of applicants to be interviewed on 4th Dec, invitations should be sent latest Friday 24th Nov, or over the weekends. They usually allow 2 weeks from announcement. I think they will also start with Diploma guys! |
babagy82:Kwarai! ![]() |
I feel you bro! But how it goes down in those committees is usually negotiations, depending on the calibre of men in the composition of the C'ttee. Chairmen don't always walk away with slots alone. For FIRS, finance C'ttee members got at least 2 each the last time. As for recommendation letters, these days they amount to nothing sadly, but its still a move. Yes, most of the posts on here agree that DPR still hire on merit, if you've been following. Goodluck to everyone! insperyadyou: |
Politicians, lol! They don't only own stakes in this recruitment, they are the stake!! Apart, of course, from top Political Godfathers that just make dying minute phone calls and everything changes in their favor, there are those that follow it all step of the way. In the NASS for e.g, there are committees of Petroleum Upstream and Downstream for both Senate and Reps. Each C'ttee member is quaranteed a slot, at least I know that was what happened in 2013. In the individual State Governor's Offices (Office of the Head of Service to be precise) , there is usually a recruitment unit that liaises with their State Commissioner at FCC in vetting applicants to make sure their interests are somewhat reflected in a major recruitment. Why I am saying all these is simple, so those who can reach out to their Reps/Senators/FCC Commissioners can and should, you never know what move of yours may be the connecting dot for you. Above all, Pray. A piece of advice to some of you on here, whenever you are in an interactive forum like this, just take what you deem relevant and move along. Some of the attitudes on display here will get you nowhere. last last hausa people say "mai uwa a gindin murhu..." Peace! |
Guys, you all need to calm down and just pray. All these permutations I'm reading on here, and the level of confidence in some posts, some of us will definitely be disappointed. We should know that so many factors will come into play; 1. Federal Character.. this is the most important. Those guys at FCC will never let Qouta allocations be disproportionate. Hence, people with low scores will easily glide through in states with less competition. 2. The Nigerian Senate is keenly observing this whole process, even more than us, of course with their own interests too. They are also behind Qouta system as against overall performance. The leaked list of one of the MHR (Rep. Doguwa) to DPR is one of many. 3. Then there is the Engine Room (Presidency). This will obviously take a large chunk of the favor slots, as we've seen in many recent recruitment and scholarship schemes. 4. And then the good part... DPR has a history of recruiting a very good number based on merit, regardless! The job requires one to at least be sound upstairs. To be fair to those guyz that usually come in through favors, they're also usually very sound guyz. I've had colleagues back in school who were DPR staff, trust me their IQ no be here. lol In light of all these, I am positive invites will cut across all sectors, even 'some' that did not apply. But Hey, if you dont get invited, its not the end of the world yeah? Struggle continues! GUYS, Praaayy!!! |
Alright Guys! Nobody should feel disqualified at this point. There are so many combinations of Scenarios that could have come to play; 1. Truly the site was bugged 2. In an effort to compile and send results to DPR, Snapnet made those changes. 3. That those whom have tampered with their profiles either by downloading or editing have their profiles closed, but not necessarily disqualified? 4. That Snapnet is working on profiles batch by batch and that those with closed profiles are the ones with earlier application numbers? The above mentioned is just an observation. But definitely they are in the efforts of inviting applicants for interview, I was told 1st week of November, but you never know! Remain calm, and pray! Peace |
No you are not, when are you writing yours? BestieSome: |
