Tonto-Dike would soon hire a bodyguard and start flaunting him too..
Someone like Denrele or Mr-Ibu would then go and hire a female bodyguard and flaunt her too..
Then Kaycee and Don-Jazzy would flaunt theirs too..
And D-banj would come out finally and flaunt "The Sexiest Female Bodyguard Ever".

My brother,, I opened a similar thread where people were telling the kind of stories or features they would like to be seeing in Nigerian movies.. Some of the things are......
"......I would like to see movies that chronicled the life of a young entrepreneur who suffered so much when he was young in the business, and how he finally succeeded thru some good decisions he made.. (and not thru some lucky opportunity from no where)...."
"....I would like to see a movie where someone got stuck in a dense traffic jam, and he decided to step out of his car and control the traffic, only to see some other pple who did the same thing.. And in the process, he met a lady was also controlling traffic with him., and in the end, they ended up being more than just friends. (I would like it if they met again in another traffic jam elsewhere.. Aaaahahahahahah)......."

Over the years we wonder why Nollywood has refused to grow exponentially like the music industry.
My answer is that Nollywood has ignored the basics for great movies. without comparing with Hollywood that has huge production cost , great stories still remains the bedrock for all great movies.

The simple cure is to get very good screenwriters that will tell the African story in a world class standard

However this important aspect has been disregarded in Nigeria.

Scriptwriters are so poorly paid that most have dropped the trade. the cure to Nigeria's poor movies is to start finding professional scriptwriters who will write quality stories with low production cost in mind.

https://afromixent.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/nollywood3Afromix.jpg

This is my opinion, what's yours?
I got concerned about the poor quality of nigerian films too, and it had pushed me to open a similar thread.... Part of the thread read thus:
".........I am not a stakeholder in the movie industry; neither am I a producer, a director, nor am I an actor. But the simple truth is that, it pains me that we nigerians are not patronising our movies; and it is not our fault.
The fault is in the movies.
The movies are trash.
We don't like them.
A normal nigerian would say "Aaww, Nigerian Movie.? No no no no. I don't watch Nigerian movies. I watch American, Indian or Korean movies".. And if asked why, they would reply "Foreign movies are cool, and they have quality"..
Now I am asking, what is the quality that these foreign movies have that our Nigerian movies don't have.? To be sincere, there are many many many of them.
It is true that some foreign movies are trash too. Not all of them are good................."

U guys know nothing about what happens underground cos if u do , u wont blame nollywood, nobody in his right senses would invest a huge amount of money on a single movie in d nigeria of today, unless its a straight to cinema flick to recoup d money b4 the pirates come 4 d movie,......and even dat is a risk cos u dnt know if people wud actually pay to see ur movies in d cinema....@ d end of d day, u are the one loosing money via piracy or lack of intrest in ur movie by viewers.

This is d reason they take d easy way out by making a poor quality movies where they dnt hav much to loose , and if its successful, they gain profits, rinse and repeat..

STOP BADMOUTHING NOLLYWOOD!
Must they produce movies then.? Why don't they sit down first and find a solution to piracy first.?

Ooohh Boy.!!
You just scanned my head and said everything inside my mind..
May God bless you for saying it in a better way for me..
I used to be a die-hard fan of Nigerian movies until the time soft-porn started entering..
I still hope that nigerian producers would realise soon enough that movies preach, and teach, and have strong impact on people far better than pastors and teachers.
TV/Movies › Re: Charting The Way Forward For The Nigerian Movie Industry. by tk4rd(op): 7:39am On Mar 24, 2015
Well. One other thing with Nigerian producers is that we overuse things.. With time, when they start using technologies like VFX, DFX, CGI, and so on, we would be seeing movies with over-done visual effects and excess animations.. Which still comes down to intellectual laziness and lack of hardwork.

TheFilmmaker:
Where are you based?

What are the solutions you profer?
1. I am based in Anambra.
...
2. Though I might not have sounded professional enough (as regards film producing), but my humble suggestions are there in my write-up.. The producers and directors need to put in enough hardwork in there movies. (a movie like October-1 is so good. We need more of such quality movies in nigeria).. We need movies that can have real effects on the viewers, and not movies that resemble stage dramas.. To acheive this, hardwork, good thinking, enough time, thorough editing, serious criticisms, and perfect coordination are needed in the production of the movies.. With time, Nigerian producers would begin to acquire some video-technologies with which to shoot advanced video graphics, but without good thinking and hardwork, we will still be producing mediocre movies.
I know that we will get there soon.

As a scriptwriter I understand the frustration of the Nigerian public. I encounter a lot of producers and have noticed some things. Many producers are lazy and do not want to think outside their comfort zone and when you try and show them something different they do not want to go with it insisting rudely that "I am the one putting down the money". It's common knowledge that many producers don't hire good scriptwriters because they don't want to pay good money for ideas (I know how many jobs I have had to reject because of this). I also used to act and you should see the atrocious scripts I have seen. The same thing is repeated in other sectors of Nigerian filmmaking as most producers do not want to pay for quality. Thank God for the new Nollywood producers who are bringing out quality jobs. The major problem is the lack of distribution points like cinemas. If we have more customer friendly cinemas producers will be able to make returns on their investment and make films with bigger budgets. "30 days in Atlanta" made 200 million but it could have made more if there were more cinemas that were cost friendly. Alaba is dying which is why they are resorting to porn movies.
I know that one day, Nigerian movies will be winning international awards..
Now that the nigerian public have started seeing the flaws in the nigerian movie industry and pointing them out, it is now left for the stakeholders and all those people involved to sit up and do what is right..
Programming › How Do One Create An Online Survey Or Questionnaire Page.? by tk4rd(op): 7:12pm On Mar 21, 2015
Please I am a novice when it comes to programming and web-page designing.
But then, I am doing a thesis research that requires that I create a questionnaire and circulate it to a wide variety of people.
As a result, I am thinking of creating an online questionnaire, so that many people can see it and respond to it online.
I have once seen a simple online questionnaire created by someone using http://docs.google.com, but when I tried to create mine, it wasn't just possible.
(If it is easy to create an online questionnaire or survey using this website, please, someone should tell me how to go about it.)
I want to know how to create an online survey or questionniare without much stress.
If there are easy-to-operate websites that would aid me with such tools, I would like to know about them too.

frankmoney:
thanks for your contributions. , how come the whole Africa fell under d spell of the Europeans ..if we had the best brain at least they would av contributed greatly during the early breakthroughs in science ....and proposed theories and laws e.t.c .....
All the history books and science invention history books you read were written by the Europeans.. That was why u didn't see African, American and Asian inventions in their history books..
You can imagine Japan with all their early knowledge of metalworks and fireworks, and China with all their early knowledge of tea and herbal medicine and acupuncture, yet, they have no place in the science and medicine history books., rather you see texts like, "tea was imported by the Orients (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, e.t.c); and mathematics was developed in the East (Greece, Arabia, e.t.c)... The Japanese and Greek history we read today are those written by their own old historians (Japanese and Greek Historians respectively).. In the Bible, the Queen of Sheba that visited Solomon came from Africa. But the thing is that, the kings and wise men of Africa in those days never thought like the Europeans, who were like: "let all generations read about these and know that a great good king (or a mighty king who conquered the whole world, or that some certain invention that changed the world) once came out of our noble land.
The people in the Bible called all black-skinned people Ethiopians.
The Europeans called Africans Moors those days (and some other names for black-skinned people), and called the Northerners Barbarians.
